Traveling through during the Thanksgiving weekend, I had a wheel bearing go out. 4pm on a Sunday and they were happy to help get my children and I back on the road to Idaho. Life savers! I highly recommend them!

THANK YOU HOWARD!! Our family was headed out for a road trip and had a flat. It was 9 pm and he was able to get us right in. He fixed us right up and we're on our way. We seriously were in a bind and he saved the day. I can not thank you enough!! Great service!!

Sunday before Labor Day! We broke down 45 minutes into a 14 hour drive. After being on hold with AAA for over 30 minutes, we call this mobile mechanic. He fixed our serpentine belt in the parking lot of the Starbucks, in 100 degree full sunshine. We were so grateful. We finished our 13 hour drive without further incident. Thank you!

PART 2: (in continuation of Alyssa Johns Review) I asked them if they could put air in my tire so it wasnt resting on the rim since I know it would do damage just sitting like that, they said yes. Seeing that my car hadn't been worked on at all at that moment, I had marked my tire, the sidewalk and placed something on the cap to see if they'd really put air in my tire. Few more weeks go by and it's after Christmas that my dad calls me inquiring about my car since he lent me his extra and he had made it aware that it had been over two months. I texted Howard and them letting them know that I wanted to check on the car, but this time with my dad. We stopped by and we checked the car out, he looked under the hood and the body of the car and he says to me, "they hadn't done a dang thing but take your money and its been over 2 months, what's going on?!" We finally made the decision that we would just tow my car from their "shop" to the dealership to have real professionals work on it. I texted howards wife and let her know that we would be picking up the car and that she needed to refund my money back to me. She then called basically pleading for them to just work on my car and that they can have it done in the next couple of days since they have all the parts, but wait... i thought they said theyve had all the parts back a while ago. They also kept asking if I could make more payments on the bill, although they had already told me that I could just pay the remainder off when I pick it up, but her excuse was that business was slow and the holidays were coming up, etc. So as I told her I would be taking my car, she told me i would be helping them out if they'd be able to just keep the money instead of paying me back. I told them know and that they needed to refund me. I took my car to nissan and within 3 days, they told me they fixed my car, 3 DAYS.!!! something that took them over 2 months to not even start. I then contacted howards wife telling her I needed my money so I can pay off the dealership and she says, "well... i need to send the parts back first to get the refund and then I have to pay my rent". WHAT?! I took my car from your "shop" a week ago and you STILL haven't returned the parts?! and now somehow its my fault you can't even pay your rent?! Poor business management, poor professionalism, poor financial management, just all around poor. I am now taking them to court since I have STILL yet to see my refund in spite of me reminding them. And this is holding me back from paying the dealership for repairs and getting my car back.

it turned into oh sorry but Howard is having a bad day so you need to wait at home for another day and a half so that he can be in a better mood when he fixes the car. It happened multiple times and the last straw was when he claimed to fix the shaking when I brake and replace the seatbelt to make the beeping go away and when I got the car back the beeping continued and the shaking was still there. When I asked them to take a look at it again they texted me all kinds of disrespectful and thretening, and unprofessional things. then ignored me even after I tried to be mature and talk to them about it nicely. Now I'm stuck with a broken car all thanks affordable auto repair. Do yourself a favor and go through a real mechanic that won't leave you hanging on his own mistakes.

Howard recently worked on two of my vehicles, a 2009 Impala and a 2007 suburban. He replaced the transmission in the Impala. Then I had him rebuild the rear differential, fix an oil leak with my oil pan, a transmission leak, replace a front CV axle, and replace my rear brake pads on the suburban. Everything works great and he saved me a lot of money. Howard stands by his work. Don't be fooled by him not having a professional garage, he works from his home. I'm a return customer, and I'm sure I'll be back when I need more auto mechanic work.

From a Google search I called for pricing on a tune-up and spark plugs for our van and was told I'd be called back with a quote. I couldn't answer the phone when that call came in so they sent a text that said only, "$300.00". I thought that was a great price and the conversation continued via text. Everything went fine figuring out a time and we had agreed my husband would go there immediately after work. They were willing to do the work after regular work hours which was nice and our appreciation of that was expressed. They agreed to order the part(s) and after I talked to my husband I text and told them everything was set. Thirty minutes after saying, "Ok see you then" I received a text saying, "Cash works best if possible" As soon as I received that message red flags went off so I went to Google and read the reviews of their business. I text back saying, "We will pay when the job is done. And I can pay by card or pay pal or through Facebook." Their next text said, "Card will be fine but I apologized due to problems in the past I need all money up front" Again red flags are going off and I responded, "I'll talk to my husband but after reading some of the reviews on Google I will pay when the job is complete. Have no fear. I have the money and I'm going to pay but like you I've been burned by paying up front and then getting screwed. I'm not trying to be difficult but I'll pay when we pick it up tonight and at that time we can pay cash if that is better for you." Let me insert here that we would have had to go to an ATM to get cash but was willing to do so if that's what they wanted. They'd said it would take a couple of hours and I just couldn't see what the difference that two hours would make in them receiving the cash. I could have even shown the cash to them when we dropped the car off so they knew we had it. But the next text I got from them said, "The people who have given us those reviews are exactly the reason for why I asked the money up front you cannot always believe what you read but with that being said I apologize you'll just have to find another place have a nice day." So we DID take our car somewhere else. Paid $331.00 AFTER it was finished and they only had the car for about 4 hours (they said when we called that there were a couple of cars ahead of us but they would get to it before end of business). That $31.00 gave me peace of mind and we paid by card. I will NOT do business with Affordble Auto Repair LLC and I will not recommend them to anyone EVER.

Came in to get a clutch fixed, they’ve had it a week. Said it would be done everyday this week. Then parts are late and this is late and this came up. Well I’m told it’ll be done this morning, then at 1pm they say it will be about another hour, call back at 2 it’ll be done in half an hour. I get here at 2:45pm and they’re just barely dropping the transmission. I got pissed and was on the phone with family, someone over heard and now they’ve got my truck taken apart and won’t put it back together. Definitely not recommend to go here. Tried to reason and talk to them and they chose to be childish. Horrible experience. If you read in the beginning I had been told over and over the entire week “it will be finished tomorrow “ I have texts that prove it as well, but it was one excuse after another and then I get there when it’s supposed to be done and THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT DROPPED YET. I Imagine anyone would be upset.

Howard is a very honest and knowledgeable mechanic. He rebuilt our heavy duty DT466 deisel engine. In our motor home bus. It is now like brand new. Howard price is really fair for the quality of work he does. He has even called us to make sure everything works well and to make sure we are happy. We highly recommend him.

Had a idle pulley break & drive belt nearly seize up. Was making horribly load screeching noise. All other shops were closed after 6pm & I called affordable auto who told me to come on over. I headed over & they had the pulley/belt replaced in less than an hour! They gave me a REALLY fair price & I'll definitely be going back to them for any other vehicle repairs! Great people!

Does good work. Best price I could find in town. Instead of pocketing a discount he received on a part (rotor) he passed it on to me, he did not have to do that. Knowledgeable and has a good understanding of cars and a way of communicating in a way us non mechanically inclined people can understand. I will return when my vehicle needs service.

Absolutely horrible. First they have themselves listed as an “auto shop”, but it’s really a driveway at their house. I needed an axle and wheel bearing replaced and they gave me a service price of $100 because I bought my own parts. I thought that sounded pretty decent since the other places I had called wanted to do it for $300+. I made an appointment with them for 3:00, and they didn’t even show up until around 3:30. I gave them all the parts and they told me it should only take a few hours and that they’d call me when they were done. At about 6:00 I texted them and asked how much longer it’d be, and they told me 30 minutes. I didn’t hear from them again until about an hour and a half later, when they told me they didn’t have the part that they needed and were going to pick it up. Another hour passes and they call to tell me that the shop they needed the part from is closed and they’ll go get it “first thing in the morning”. So I had to leave my car there overnight even though they said it’d only be a few hours. I told them that I had to be to work at about 1:00 the next day and that I needed my car to get there, and they said they would make sure to have it done by noon. Well, they didn’t even start working on it again until about 1:00, so I had to miss work for the whole day. A few hours pass and they call to tell me that I need to get the bearing that I bought pressed in by a shop because they couldn’t get it in all the way, even though that was supposed to be what I was paying them to do. I went to their house and saw that they had put my axel in, so they had me pay half of the service fee then. I took my knuckle to a few shops and they told me that Howard had destroyed the brand new bearing I bought and that I needed a new one. 2 different shops told me they couldn’t get the bearing out because Howard had put it in wrong and it was stuck. It was so jammed in there that they actually broke one of their tools trying to get it out. I was told by multiple shops that I needed to buy a whole new knuckle for a couple hundred dollars because Howard had severely damaged it. He also damaged the hub when he took the original bearing off by grinding it and making cuts into it. All the while they refused to admit they had damaged anything and expected me to buy brand new parts AND pay them the full service fee. I ended up having to buy a new hub and bearing myself for $80, as well as new knuckle for $200. NONE of which needed to be replaced before I went to these people! While I was out and about trying to replace everything they damaged, Howard’s wife was nagging and complaining to me because my car was “in their way” and they needed me to move it ASAP. She then continued to harass me over text, telling me that she’s going to have my car towed at my expense or keep it because I hadn’t payed them. After the nightmare of dealing with these people I had my car towed to a REAL shop, where at least I know there’s someone who actually knows what they’re doing. Terrible service, and they are very unprofessional and rude people. The prices are good if you like terrible work done on your car. Save your time and money and take your car somewhere else!!!

Howard and his wife were both very polite. Now I understand they have bad reviews and it did however make me second guess the decision to go there. With some research everything else was a week wait. It is hot and I wanted my ac. I decided to go ahead and try it . Turns out Howard was knowledgeable and got the job figured out and completed within 20 minutes. Very pleased with the results. Thank you.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an auto repair. Howard has no idea what he is doing and I got nothing but excuse after excuse from them why my repair was delayed. They came and got my car on Aug 12 and told me it would take two weeks and asked me to prepay $800. On Sept 12 they said it needed more work and asked for more money. I reluctantly gave them another $200. They said my car would be ready in a week. Finally by Nov. 2 they said my car would be ready that week. They promised to deliver it everyday that week and failed to show up. I finally demanded my car back on Nov. 6. I called for a police standby and the car was driven to their house to be repaired had to be towed back to my home because it was inoperable. These people are thieves and liars as well as completely incompetent. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!!

Very cool dude. Hes a home and mobile mechanic. Hes very good despite his home workshop being his driveway if you have a emergency need for repair hes perfect to call. If you need a whole bunch of engine repair or entire engine and transmission swaps and need it fast then go to a full auto shop, but if your ok with waiting a bit longer for your large repairs to be done at a much cheaper price then Howard is your man. Pricing is great and no BS straight to the point. Very sincere guy despite all the negative reviews on here. Most of the negative comments on here about him are from one customer being dissatisfied with his work but its surely not a every case situation. I called about my car AC system issues and he helped me out fixed my issue within the same hour I called and it was way past the time that all the regular auto shops close so that was insanely convienant. Overall great and knowlegeable dude.

Howard saved me once again! I was stranded at work and he came there to help me, with exceptional service. I ended up needing a new battery, and he went out to get one for me! Then, when everything was done and working perfectly, he turned around and started helping my neighbor (off the clock!) that he noticed was having trouble too. Quality work from a man with over 40 years experience. I trust Howard with all my repairs and I recommend him to all my friends and family.
