I had an absolutely ridiculous experience at Albertsons store on 19th & Northern in Phoenix AZ on October 28th 2025 at approximately 8:40 a.m I went to that store to treat myself on my birthday by buying several items and was meet by alarms going off while I was picking out a few items to buy.I am a little petite old woman 👉🏼and one of the store employees probably at least over 200 pds was standing to the side looking at me really hateful while I was at the cashier paying for my items 👉🏼 The employee was cracking his knuckles and flexing like he really wanted to attack me!! That kind of racism is outrageous!!! I'll never shop there again!!.

The quality control at this location has gone downhill since we've been shopping here about 10 years ago. I want to say, that it's gotten pretty bad within the last 2-3 years. Almost every shopping trip, we end up having an expired food item. I can't check the expiration date on EVERY single item I put in the cart, but I think I may have to or just find another grocery store to go to from now on...even if I have to drive further away. And sometimes, we do a pick up order so I cannot check then also. So, we went in on Friday to get a few items for the weekend, grabbed bologna only to find out (the very next day) that it was bad. It was already turning brown (pic included of the outer layers compared to the center layer of the pack).
Then yesterday, I placed a pick up order. Only for them to send me moldy strawberries. It's ridiculous for them not to see the mold on the top layer of strawberries. I have also gotten expired frozen foods.
Groceries are too expensive to be throwing away! Get it together!!!

Expired food and lettuce full of bugs. Eggs on the shelf were expired and always out of stock Shamrock milk and Organics yogurt. This store is definitely having issues. See Best Buy date of 05/17/2024 on newly purchased package of Manischewitz soup. Many products have a short expiration date as they have sat on the shelf.

Well, for the most part I like this store although sometimes it is a bit pricey. However I've had my share of problems with certain things especially when it comes to the customer service department.... It's not so much the people it's the rules and regulations. There's been times where I've come here just a little bit before closing -only to find out they closed earlier than they should have and no one would help me very frustra!ting, especially when you're on the bus!
But today I came to pick up some money from Western Union only to be told they wouldn't accept my ID because it's one of those temporary IDs that DMV gives you that are paper I just barely got it the other day and they have a record of me coming here quite often to pick up money or for other things so it's not like they don't know who I am or can't verify it unfortunately that's the only ID I have except for my debit card that has my name on it. Now I know before, THAT THEY they've taken this ID although it was a while ago .and I always keep a proper ID on however my bag was stolen a few weeks ago and I never got it back. So,unfortunately this is the only thing that DMV gives you i it's not my fault DMV won't give us a proper ID right there on the spot. I'm not blaming the cashier or the other workers I blame whoever made these policies and put them into place, they ought to have a sign up there in customer service that says we do not accept temporary IDs so people aren't waiting there forever for nothing or put it on the website also.... But man don't make a square start time going up here and not being able to do what we have to do I don't have a car I'm on the bus and I'm on crutches and I'm carrying some stuff so it's very difficult for me to get around sometimes and it's frustrating and it makes me angry as time goes on that I have to go through all this crap! They could at least say temporary IDs are accepted only on a case to case basis, I'm sure these IDs that are paper are very easy to forge but if they would just look to the customers history and see that they've been here many times and they also have at least one other the things with their name on it or something I don't see what the problem is?!? it's not, like I'm picking up $1,000 it was only around $100. The cashier was there telling me well you can try Walgreens or you can try this store or that store- sure... that's what I want to do!! if you walking all over the place or, you're taking the bus all over the place o try to find a store that will take it (and I know there are other stores 🤨 this was just the easiest to get to) ....so I'm never going to pick up ,send, make money orders anything'EVER AGAIN HERE! I am fed up.
Again I'm not mad at the staff or the girl working in the customer service department I'm just pissed off at the people that make these rules and put them into place... Really, think about these rules that you're making and who it's affecting if you want to have happy customers who will want to come back to the store...

I like the convenience of Albertsons... Sometimes going here is a little better than Walmart..... Plus I can walked there about 0.8 miles maybe more away....

I have shared my impression of the meats I attain from this or any Albertsons, over the last 40 years. Only once in the past 10 years have I EVER, been dissatisfied, but after speaking to the Manager it never happened again. (poorly trimmed steaks, who wants to pay these prices for FAT you are going to trim and throw away?!?!?)
The accompanying picture is a true depiction of my most recent purchase, and what I have come to expect 99% of the time...again for the past 40+ YEARS. This was a part of 2 'family packs' I bought and ALL of the pork chops were very similar to these, I 'stock up', on Albertsons meats when they are on sale, season and vacuum seal them in meal portions.
Kudo's to the Meat Department for such an exemplary job and highly ethical job in the preparation of their meats!

I love, love this Albertsons. I always do an car pick up from the 19th ave location and they are always on point with everything and kind and friendly.Today, I was supposed to pick up an order but my son wasn't feeling well. So I contacted the store and asked if they could change my order to delivery. They helped me straight away without all the red tape. I appreciate your help and understanding. I tried calling personally but you guys were busy I'm sure filling orders. Even the lady that brought the groceries she was helpful and nice. Thanks again to all the pick up order staff u guys rock!!!!!

⭐️ Albertsons – 19th Avenue & Northern
This Albertsons really needs help. From the layout of the store to the parking lot, it feels neglected. The parking is terrible, the lot is dirty, and the carts are so old that I’m never sure if they’ve been cleaned — so I sanitize them myself. Unlike most Albertsons locations, there are no hand wipes or sanitizer available at the entrance, so bring your own supplies. *
Ordering groceries here is frustrating. Items are often out of stock, and substitutions are the norm. Produce is consistently poor quality — it spoils within a day or two. The deli is another disappointment: lunch meat and cheese are packaged sloppily, with no paper between slices, leaving me with a block of cheese that falls apart. Even when I’ve added notes asking for better packaging, the request is ignored.
When I’ve walked inside, employees look worn out and impatient. Closing announcements are repeated excessively, which makes shopping uncomfortable. While the aisles themselves are decent, the overall atmosphere is unwelcoming.
This store has become my “backup of a backup” Albertsons. Unfortunately, it’s closest to my work, but I go out of my way to shop at the Deer Valley location because the difference in service and quality is night and day.
Unfortunately I don't have pictures but I will post them soon and i will mention this review or just create a new one with pictures

I visited this Albertsons establishment on 19th ave. and Northern ave this evening and never have I been so frustrated. I was trying to purchase 5 cans of the Dennison Chilli, but to no avail neither of cashier's honored the actual sales tags. I was received the first time at the register with an attitude of indifference like I couldn't understand what was clearly stated on the tag. I was told that I did not have the items that was included in the sale. So, wanting to be helpful I said ok clear this register and I'll go back and get the correct stuff. Stepping away from the lady I was given a a sarcastic thank you very much for being wrong. When I got other cans of chili I was told again by a different register person that these cans were also not eligible for the 1.66 price. When every can I chose was included and I tried to explain to them the tags state mix and match showed, save a little over 8 dollars. I decided to get help I asked another customer to help me maybe I'm not seeing it. She walked over with me and said take the tag to them because no one is hearing you. I took pictures of the 3 types of chili I wanted but none of the sales came through. I don't understand stand why they created this scenario. I was so upset with these folks for not check and just trying to make a person fell inadequate at the end I had security standing over nearby just in case I went ballistic or some. I spoke loud and was upset but I knew who I was and that I was right. Customer service at this store is lacking and leaves some to be desired. I live literally 5 blocks away I will never spend or frequent this store for as long as live. My money will be better spent at sprouts across the street or Fry's.
