Do an oil change if u got a coupon, but I wouldn't get your vehicle serviced regularly. I went for one service came out needing that same service re-done plus more.

The ladies in the body shop office could use some attitude adjusting. The gentleman that assisted me for my quote seemed the same in the office until he came out to help me with my quote. He was very personable and professional. If people are an annoyance and you don't have people skills then being a writer probably isn't for you.

Poor customer experience. They sold my dad an unsafe truck. When we found out about it, they charged him $600 to fix what they should have fixed before they sold the truck. For a company who's main focus is the customer experience, they sure didn't show it in my case. I work in the repair industry and will never give any business to this company.

Went here yesterday to see why my ac wasn't blowing cold air. They told me to wait because they were working on it. 1 1/2 hrs later I was told by someone different that they were starting to work on it cuz they were behind. So I took the shuttle home waited for there call. 3 hrs later got a call compressor needed replace n they wanted 1215.00 to change it out. I called another mechancic who said he'd do it for 650.00. Half the price. I picked up my vehicle and I had asked the person who worked there in the morning to reset a change the oil soon light since I only had 200 miles since my last oil change and it was on. I get in my vehicle and the lights still on. The person who I told the problem to in the morning blamed it on another service person. They asked me if I wanted my vehicle washed as I was waiting to pick it up, i said yes....do you think it was washed 10 mins later when they brought my vehicle back to me...NO. Why bother asking me if they really weren't going to do it? I don't know what happened to there service dept because they use to be pretty good but they really suck now. I won't be going back.

Recently called for my AC repair as it wasn't blowing cold anymore. Was told it was an evaporator problem and paid 1400 at the end of May, flash forward to beginning of July, blowing hot air again! Took it back in to be fixed by Alfred Matthews, hoping they standby their service only to be told it was another problem and another 700 bill! I think they changed what commonly is wrong in a/c units and released it .Easy for them. What a headache with this place . Now I'm on the hook for 1500 parts/ labor that may not have been the problem.Word of advice don't use their coupons, probably come out with more work, then you went it. Probably good for a oil change n car wash.

It took a week to get in for an appointment, when I was in and gave my keys, they gave me a ride home while they diagnose the locked hatch rear door, and order part. I was happy with the work, my hatch is working again. When they brought my washed car back to me from the garage, they notice my front license plate frame was crated, and they would replace it for me no charge if I wanted. What great customer service! I driving a 2004 Saturn, I was treated fabulously!

This is the worst place to take your car for services. I took my car in for an oil change and new water pump in April 2024. I was told I also needed a new timing chain but I passed on that thank goodness. I’ve been having problems ever since that visit in April. I just took my car to two different mechanics and upon opening the hood we saw that the batter clips were broken and the computer was just lying on top of the battery. The first mechanic bolted the computer in for me thankfully. I was told I did NOT need a new timing chain by both mechanics, mind you my car has 100,000 miles on it and shouldn’t need one at this point. Alfred Matthews is out to scam people who trust them. I will NEVER take my business there again.

Recently, we took our truck in for a 2nd time to this place since it is still under warranty. It's been 2 weeks, and we couldn't even get a status update call. My husband had to call them a few times to get an update. We understand that it can get pretty busy, but a call goes a long way! Fix your communication issues, and im sure people's experience will be much better.

Disappointing lack of support and accountability I am writing this review after exhausting every reasonable option and giving this dealership ample opportunity to assist. I brought my 2021 GMC Yukon to Alfred Matthews GMC for diagnosis of a serious water intrusion issue. Their technicians confirmed that one of the sunroof drain tubes was disconnected (despite no prior work ever being done to the vehicle, and a known technical service bulletin being out for this being a known issue from the factory) and that the sunroof frame itself is leaking. As a result, there is mold present under the carpet and padding — a legitimate health and safety concern. I am a disabled veteran, and I approached this situation respectfully, asking for help through proper channels after my extended warranty and CarMax declined coverage. I was not asking for anything unreasonable — even partial goodwill assistance would have been appreciated. What I found most troubling was not GM’s refusal (corporate policies are what they are), but this dealership’s refusal to even submit a goodwill request on my behalf. I was told outright that they would not pursue goodwill assistance because “it would be a no anyway.” No request submitted, no advocacy, no attempt. I was also informed — implicitly — that because I did not purchase my vehicle through Alfred Matthews GMC, goodwill support was essentially off the table. This is unacceptable. A GMC dealership represents the GMC brand, not only vehicles sold on their lot. I have lived in San Diego for years and chose this dealership expecting brand-level support, not transactional gatekeeping. To be clear: • I did not cause this issue • I maintained the vehicle responsibly • The failure was confirmed by their own technicians • Mold was documented • I approached the situation calmly and professionally Yet I was met with indifference and a refusal to advocate for a customer — and a veteran — facing a costly repair stemming from a known issue. If you are looking for a dealership that will simply diagnose and bill, this may suffice. If you are looking for a dealership that will stand behind the brand, advocate for customers, and demonstrate integrity, this experience fell far short. I am deeply disappointed and expected better from both GMC and Alfred Matthews GMC.
