I called and told them I had a check engine light on and he told me to bring it in and then when I brought it in they told me they were going to charge me almost $100. I feel like that was a hidden cost and they should be more upfront about it so I chose a different mechanic

NEVER NEVER NEVER TRUST THIS PLACE !!!! I wish I can give it 0 stars. I am Horrified at my experience. I am a 20 year old pregnant woman and they completely took advantage of the fact that I needed help. I needed the throttle body replaced and they charged me $1,250 ! that was almost all the money I had. I trusted them and payed the amount. After my car was finished one of them told me my radiator needed to be replaced and told me it was going to cost $500! Im not completely stupid and know for my car that price is outrageous. I declined and began to look into how much a throttle body really is for my car. I come to find out they charged me an extra $400 for just an hour of labor. To top it all off, just one day after getting my car back from them my car is in even worse condition than It was when I first took it in. When I took it in it was drivable. Now I cant even make it down the street! The car goes through extreme loss of coolant (which never happened before) the steering wheel pulls to the left when I press the gas (which never happened before) the steering wheel pulls the the right when I hit the break (which never happened before) and there is a horrible grinding sound. my car is left in such a horrible condition and I am left miserable.

Don’t go here. They false advertise. The sign says $46.75 for a smog check + certificate. I called and they verified the certificate comes with the smog check if you pass. What the sign doesn’t say is that you pay the $8.75 for the certificate and another $3 transfer fee. Making the total $58.80. Don’t forget the $1.45 they charge to use a card. Call smoggy smog. It would have been $48 out the door. And the extra $12 doesn’t matter, it’s that they are lying to bring people in and charging extra without telling the customer.

How anyone can give Joe below a 5 Star is beyond my comprehension! Other reviewers gave a low rating because their POS started falling apart from other issues that he didn’t touch, or him asking for a diagnosis fee so he doesn’t waste his or your time has nothing to do with the quality of work and his integrity. I will only ever go to Valley Auto Tech because I know my family vehicle will be safe and reliable. His prices are better than fair and he is straight up with you about what repairs need to be done. Other than him being a Chicago Bears fan, he’s a great guy And awesome mechanic!

I went to the Valley Auto Tech for Engine Light on Car Overheating ! They took the whole Thing apart in the front & FIXED it for me ! It Took them 4 days ! Great guys! Had my truck towed in because fuel pump was bad. Ed said give them an hour to diagnose and he would call me with estimate. He called within that hour and confirmed it was fuel pump. Got me a great price on a new fuel pump and had it fixed by the end of the day! Went in for smog a different time and it failed because I had new catalytic converters installed and didn’t put enough miles on it for computer to reset itself. He said drive it 100 miles and come back. Didn’t charge me for another scan. Honest and knowledgeable guys. Will continue to give them all my business!

I called in on behalf of my friend because she was sold a car with aftermarket Lugnuts that require a special key for all five lug nuts on each wheel and was price shopping for estimates on how to forcibly remove them and I spoke with a gentleman who recommended contacting a tire shop in Modesto, even though I was not familiar with Modesto because I am located in Concord and he mentioned that this tire shop has a lot of special keys for lug nuts for aftermarket wheels as well they went above and beyond to hear me out recommend me a shop with a better potential solution, and I really appreciate that because I am looking to save her as much money as possible, and finding the specific special key for the lug nuts is a lot cheaper than having to forcibly remove them and replace them with stock lug nuts. Thank you so much for the integrity behind my phone call.
