I have used All About Cars in Reno going on 11 years. These guys are great! I have taken my sons vehicles, clients, work vehicles and my own there for service and have always received prompt, accurate and timely service. They have always honored any warranty work. This company is the worst for customer service - nasty people. The company used to be good until the owner passed the company on to his son. We have been taking our car here for years for alignments and the occasional oil change. They don't keep their appointment times at all. They are dishonest in terms of their supposed 'lifetime alignment' contracts - they pretend to align the car, then claim their printer is out or their alignment equipment is non-functional. They will claim this anytime you call to get the car serviced. They don't want to honor the contract we paid for. There are other mechanics in Reno that are far more honest and trustworthy - we are going to go to them from now on.

So my car was leaking anti-freeze/coolant, and i had an extended vehicle coverage when i purchased my car used, well the coverage was for 5 years and was up on july 6th, 2024.. i was able to contact these guys and explain my situation on the day after the 4th of july on a Friday nonetheless on july 5th.. i am SO grateful the owner cut me some slack and decided to allow me to rush my car down there friday evening so that he could assess it and get a claim filed the next morning (july 6th).. i was not in a hurry to get my car fixed fast only to have my coverage applied.. he was able to get the claim filed with them and approved for the work! To be clear, im NOT SAYING these guys will rush anybody in last minute, but i am very grateful they were able to work with me in my benefit and be honest and up front with me about the situation.. All in all, they got me in there last minute, fixed my car, got my coverage applied, and now im driving my car again and DID NOT have to pay insane amounts of money or put up with getting finessed by a mechanic shop! Highly recommend! ๐

These guys are amazing! Fast, courteous, honest, proactive! Everytime I go, they treat me and my husband with respect. They always exain what the problem is, what needs to be done, and I've never felt like they are talking down or taking advantage of me. If there is a question about billing, they explain thoroughly. If you have a car problem, go see these guys! They will take care of you, like they've taken care of me and my family. You will not regret it.

I would not advise taking your vehicle to this shop.... Not only did they lie about the amount it was going to cost to fix my car.... But the gentleman who runs it is very unprofessional and rude.... When I first dropped the car off and was explaining the situation he had no problem telling me that it was going to be $150 if I decided not to have them do the work. . He never told me that they don't accept checks and had known the budget that I was working with and still proceeded to try to work on the car... And then when I went to get the quote in order to at least cover the $150 they charge just to look at your car he had a complete meltdown and he snatched the paperwork out of my hand threw my keys at me.. and proceeded to tell me to get out.... very unprofessional

I did not have a great experience at this place. My car was overheating. They told me they ran some tests and that my head gaskets were fine but I had some issues with my radiator. So they replaced my radiator and I paid a lot of money for the various services they performed. Unfortunately, four weeks later my car started overheating again. I took it back to them and they said everything looked fine and were very adamant in stating that it clearly couldnโt be their fault that it was still overheating because they fixed the problem, but this must be a new problem, that they couldnโt find. They were rude to me, and interrupt me when I was talking and basically acted like I knew nothing of what I was talking about (which maybe is true, but it was still rude of them). I then took my car somewhere else, and found out that my head gasket is blown and essentially my car is totaled. So I paid them to replace the radiator for nothing. The only good thing I have to say is that they were able to get me in quickly when nobody else could. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but from my experience, I would not recommend them.

Haven't had them service my car or anything but spoke with a mechanic over the phone and he quoted me $120 for an hour's worth of labor to install hub caps lol... I'm bringing the part myself and simply need him to properly install them over my rims. Ridiculous pricing.

I traveled from Wisconsin to Reno and my brake line started to leak, I took it to them to get it fixed. They told me that I had many problems, yet it had been in shop prior to the trip and it had no issues. I understand that Reno doesnโt see rust but to tell me that if they did the work it would cause more issues is something that they should maybe deal with in a different way. Also once I got my car back it had another leak in the back of my car, that was not there when I dropped it off. As a traveler beware!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Hanging up on a speaking customer.. Not a good thing!! I will tell everyone I know about this... As if being a single parent with car trouble isn't enough, having to deal with these business that only want to take ur money and do a half ass job.. Getting the struts replaced along with an alignment a vehicle shouldn't pull to one side while drive on the freeway its obviously they cant do their jobs just like they cn give proper customers service what so EVER...

Most awful business I've ever experienced this guy that manages the place Jason I believe is his name. He was suposed to do a 24 point exam on my car they told me the purge valve is bad so we replaced it and that the transmission fluid is black and has metal shavings in it. When I asked him to fix everything that was under warranty he told me I had to pay for a flush and the disembley of the transmission in order to do anything at all. I had it transferred to another shop because i felt it wasnt right. To find out the peice was still broken on it. The other shop tried taking to him he was very rude to her using aggressive language then in turn contacted the insurance and was using profanity. He called me back and stated I'm not helping you by talking to the insurance I'm not getting paid for this! Your taking my time Goodluck with your Car and hung up on me! Awful don't recommend this guy is a fraud

Horrible place to take your car, especially if you have an extended warranty . The shop has done nothing but hold my car for a total of 11 days. Had to bring my car back because I had more issues than what I dropped it off with. The manager was getting upset with me because โthe warranty company wouldnโt pay what he was asking for the jobโ , when I called the warranty company upset at them, they told me they had no issue covering, but he was trying to charge an extra thousand dollars for no reason. When this shop was diagnosing my car for the second time, they told me the reason the check engine light popped up was because I needed to get my spark plugs changed. But itโs funny how I literally got my spark plugs changed for maintenance reasons before even bringing the car in for its original issue which had something to do with the coolant system. So I brought the mechanic who installed the spark plugs to the shop because thereโs no way that theyโre โ diagnostic โwas accurate. Mind you,.. it took five days for them just to get back to me on a simple diagnostic. Anyways, the shop owner proceeded to say he had pictures of the bad โ spark plugsโ , and when we asked to see them, he said that he doesnโt have to show us anything and proceeded to kick us off his property. We were in no way trying to fight with the manager.We just wanted to see proof of what he claimed was wrong with car, but couldnโt show us anything. In all, just avoid this shop . They donโt care about fixing your car all they care about is how much money they get from the warranty company if you have one or how much money they can scam you from which is disgusting.

purchased a 3 oil change punch card in dec 2024. their preprinted punch card only shows regular oil change. my car needs full synthetic. i paid the up charge for all 3 changes in advance. nate, who claims to own the shop said he'd remember me and that it would be noted on my record. he proceeded to do the oil change in dec and i walked away happy. today i went to get my 2nd oil change. he told me that i'd have to pay an extra $44. when i stated that i had already paid, he immediately told me that i was insane, he wasn't going to argue with me, told me to leave, he had the right to refuse service, i was trespassing, and he was going to call the police. i presented the dec. '24 receipt which showed a full synthetic oil change. i wasn't asking him for the benefit of the doubt. i was asking him to look into the matter a little further, which he absolutely refused to do. do NOT buy any packages from him as he won't honor them. i'll be contacting the BBB and the consumer protection board to follow up as we have a second punch card completely unused for regular oil changes but i'm not allowed back on the premises according to him. not a great way to treat me and i am wondering if my BF had been there, would he have at least investigated my claim. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE

I cannot rave enough about this place! We had our first experience together when having tires mounted on my car I recently purchased. Following that experience I ended up with a questionable issue I needed help with and without question Joe had me come right in and made sure to take the utmost care of myself and my vehicle. Free of charge he did a diagnostic, reset some techy car stuff and gave me helpful fatherly advice in regards to maintaining a vehicle thoroughly. I haven't even considered going anywhere else for car services. Thank you guys for making me feel important and treating me like family! You guys are awesome! ๐๐๐ฏ

CONSUMERS BE AWARE! This is not a reputable mechanic. We need to stand together and sue them for their shoddy service and rude behavior. Took my car here for break work and a month ago and I have to redo rotors!!! I tried to go back and have them rectify the situation after spending over $1,000 for front and back breaks and rotors, but met with rudeness, yelling and hanging up in my face. I hope he doesnโt have daughters because I wouldnโt want anyone to speak to them the way he spoke to me. Your shop did a bad job on our breaks you should want to fix it the proper way. Even though this work is under warranty I donโt trust them to do the right thing nor do I feel safe or comfortable interacting with them because of the way they treated me over the phone.

I have been going to All About Cars for a few years now and donโt have anything but good things to say about them. Nate and James have always treated me well and they have taken care of a few of my vehicles now. When I couldnโt afford to replace all three catalytic converters in my Honda pilot, Nate agreed to install ones I purchased online. Brought my vehicle here because I had coverage from carmax which I had called to verify that my parts were covered which they had confirmed. Took it in on a saturday in the morning I knew the diagnostics and warranty info would take a few days. Come Thursday afternoon I finally heard back with someone on the phone telling me I'd need tires which I knew wouldn't ever be covered by a warranty and the next statement was because of the mileage the shocks probably wouldn't be covered either. That told me that for those days it was in their care absolutely no attempt to figure out my warranty issues were even attempted to be investigated. I told the person on the phone i had already called and verified that the parts were infact covered all they said was "ohh they are? I'll call you back". Didn't hear back the rest of the day. Finally Friday afternoon with still no callback I went back for my vehicle. I understand working with warranties might be a hassle but communication with your customers is important I feel that they just wanted to deal with me and not the warranty and that seems shady to me. I'll never bring my vehicles for any future needs hope they dont treat others like that.
