These guys are great. I've brought my very troubled BMW to them many, many times for a variety of different >100,000 mile BMW problems. They always give very fair prices and very good service. Last problem I had, owner, Rudy, even suggested I just get rid of the thing and offered to put a used part in to save me some money and get it up and running until I got rid of it. These are good guys and very trustworthy. I always got a price equal to or less than what other people in online car forums were paying for the same problems.

I can't say enough positive things about Rudy and his business! I trust no one else with my cars and I have been going to Rudy for over 15 years. He is truly the last honest and fair priced mechanic. When he quotes me a price, it's always lower than the other mechanics in San Jose and dealerships. He is amazing. But the other story I want to share with everyone is Rudy gave me some invaluable advice that saved my car from being a "Planned Non-Operation" vehicle. I am considered low income and Rudy advised me to reach out to the CAP program (Consumer Assistance Program) for vehicles that don't pass Smog. I applied online and within four days I received my letter of approval with up to $1,200 in smog repair assistance! Rudy also advised me to reach out to the Smog Referee whereby when you spend $650 in repairs, you take those receipts to the Smog Referee and they will give you a two-year waiver to make those repairs to pass smog - I didn't even know these smog assistance programs existed!! Thanks to Rudy and his knowledgeable advice, I am able to fix the smog repairs on my much loved Volvo and keep it on the road. I am forever grateful to you Rudy!!

I had a great experience getting some repairs done on my 3-series BMW. Rudy and Jerry were straightforward, explained the diagnosis, plan of work, and estimates along with logical recommendations to do the right thing. I would definitely recommend them for any auto work. Some details- I knew I needed my engine motor mounts replaced and a wheel alignment done ahead of my trip. Jerry, very logically, advised against a wheel alignment since my tires are due for replacement soon. Also, I had a rattling/ grinding noise, which the team diagnosed as a broken parking brake cable mount. I had both the engine mount and parking cable mount replaced, and the car is back to its best.

I recently moved to San Jose and lived in NY where I had my trustworthy mechanic for years. Looking for a trustworthy and most importantly, an honest mechanic in a new city and state can be a headache. I came to this shop and brought my BMW X3 after hearing a unusual noise in the engine. I was greeted by Rudy and explained the situation. Rudy and Jerry explained to me what the issue may be but they needed further evaluate the car to confirm. I received a call shortly after and they explained the issue which was the same one they had initially suspected. They explained in detail the issue, gave me a fair estimate and price, and most importantly, they fixed my car. This auto-shop is a hidden gem in San Jose and their honesty and experience gives you a peace of mind. This will be my new shop moving forward. If you're spending days/nights stressed reading reviews for a BMW or German motor auto-repair shop; stop, and go to this shop - I highly recommend these folks.

The shop is under new ownership/management, so I'm updating this review. Bottom line: I like the new guys too. The price was pretty low & they fixed what they said they'd fix, on both my car & a knockoff Vespa style scooter I brought in. I'll still miss taking my car in to Rudy (previous owner/head mechanic) though. He was not only an expert mechanic, but an excellent communicator & he tended to get things done ahead of schedule with impressive turnaround time. Perhaps as the new crew settles in they will impress me as much on these points too, but it's a tall order. Overall, 5/5, good value. --- Previous review: --- Rudy runs a great shop. All the mechanics I talked to - especially Jerry & Rudy himself - are knowledgeable, friendly & they take the time to talk things over & listen really well. Prices are fair & work was done on time w/ good attention to detail

The team were professional and super courteous to explain all the service needed and issues in my BMW 550i. The dealership pricing was so exorbitant. Automend was very affordable (for a BMW:-)) and help fix a lot of small issues and 60K maintenance service. They even advised a few items that needed work that can be delayed and staggered. I usually don't post reviews but felt obligated to do so. The guys here are very friendly and honest. My car is having an issue that is a little bit of an enigma. After trying different things, these guys were upfront about potential repairs that may or may not fix the problem and did not force anything. I did have a suspension component fixed which was priced very cheap (for BMW standards) and the labor was also not expensive. These guys also did not charge me a diagnostic fee for the repairs. I would highly recommend anyone to take their car here.

Easily the most honest and reliable auto shop I’ve been to in the Bay Area. They don’t try to upsell you or throw in extra stuff — just fix what actually needs fixing, which saves a ton of money. So glad I stumbled on this place. Also, there’s a Whole Foods like a 5-minute walk away, so I usually just drop off my car and chill there with a coffee while they do their thing. Super convenient.

I had an incredible experience here! I called them because my 2019 BMW 330i was vibrating violently whenever it was in reverse or at low RPMs, and I suspected it might be the engine mounts. They told me to bring it in so they could confirm what was really going on. I dropped it off in the morning and they said they’d have an estimate by 3 p.m., but they actually called me back at noon (even though they were super busy) with a very fair price. They originally said the repair might take until the next day, but they finished it the same day in just a few hours. The work they did was outstanding — the vibrations are completely gone, and now my car runs perfectly smooth. Everything was done quickly, fairly priced, and the service was excellent. The technicians clearly knew exactly what they were doing. They’re very experienced, knowledgeable, and you can tell they take pride in their work. What stood out most was how honest they were. I even asked them to check the transmission mount, and instead of charging me to replace it, they told me it was still in good condition. That kind of honesty is rare. Overall, I felt taken care of the whole way through. This shop is the real deal — honest, skilled, and professional. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I’ll definitely be coming back here and recommend them to anyone looking for an outstanding mechanic.

Affordable prices, friendly staff, and efficient service. I was able to get my car transmission serviced in a day with no surprises. They were very upfront and direct with me about the services that I needed and kept me updated on their progress. I would say this place is a hidden gem, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of their service. May 2025 Update: Khalil, new business manager, and Tato are both very professional and trustworthy. Tato, the head mechanic, went out of his way to help me find the most economical repair for my BMW. Two thumbs up for professionalism and superior customer service. I highly recommend them!! Also, the lobby has been updated with a cool new look for customers to chill while they work on the car.
