Never again! My mom took her car in because she was having issues with the fuel and here it ended up needing a new fuel pump and plugs almost $2,000 later she leaves with her vehicle and the check engine light comes on then within a week or two the car was smelling like gas and not shifting in the gear so they say to bring the car back into the shop they'll take a look at it here they put on the wrong part they say was defective. Then all the sudden the car ironically is not shifting in the RPMs go to and the car only moves 20-30 miles an hour. When I took it back to them to see what was wrong with it they charged me another $150 just to look at it. I definitely will never be going back. I don't advise anyone to use them for anything mechanical especially on a Mercedes-Benz.

If I could give a zero I would! Brought my Kia Sedona there and they used a bypass wire...rigged parts so bad that it broke down and Pepboys won't even do A SIMPLE DIAGNOSTICS TEST BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO TOUCH IT BECAUSE OF how severely they messed up my van. I see all sorts of Christian decor... don't let any of that fool you. I am hiring an attorney (thankfully I have everything they did documented) now because of this. You know it's bad if they can't figure something out and decide to just bypass things!!! Not even offered to help make this right. DO NOT COME HERE, BE VERY CAREFUL OF THE CROOKS!!!! They took advantage of a man that was down here visiting out of state. Not to mention Pepboys found bolts in inappropriate places and some parts were missing bolts!!! Spent thousands and their hourly labor rate kept changing from $100 an hour up to $130 an hour and the van sat there for DAYS!!!! I have a son with terminal brain cancer and is a St. Jude's patient..my funds are limited and now I'm in a terrible position that is causing me a great deal of mental and emotional distress. I've done nothing but cry every day over this!!!!

SCAMMERS DONT GO!!!! I took my car here. I specifically told them I was having issues due to my spark plugs and needed it replaced. They assured me they would take care of it. Just to receive a call later saying the issue with my car was the spark plug and they’re are charging me a $150 diagnosis fee, they also had the audacity to tell me it would be $400 to replace my spark plugs. They told me they had to diagnostic upon arrival even I told beforehand what the issue was and wanted it replace. Took my car back and paid the $150. Ended up changing the plugs myself. NEVER AGAIN.

Wouldn’t recommend, came in for a diagnostic left with a price for rebuilt and new trans. It’s been 2 years and 20k miles and I’m still driving on it.. got the quote and date.. all it needed was a fluid exchange. Look for another mechanic..

I took my truck here last week for an issue with a cylinder 7 misfire. I was in town from out of state, visiting my mother, and my mother recommended I go to Amber Automotive. She believed them to be a reputable establishment. Long story short, I was given two different expensive options to fix this. When I said that I would probably go elsewhere, I was given a third option to fix it that was cheaper than the original two options (suddenly there's a cheaper option once I declined the two more expensive options) but was told that they didn't know if the cheaper option would work until they started the job. I showed the estimates to a mechanic in my family, who owns a shop in Florida a couple of hours away, who said that that Amber Automotive was adding on several additional items (at least one of which I was told was illegal to charge) to price gouge me. When I picked my truck up I had a bunch of new error codes and my truck drove 10x worse than it had when I dropped it off a couple of hours earlier. I drove it this way to my mother's house and when I got there I began to inspect what was going on. Turns out Amber Automotive unhooked cylinders 2, 4, 6 and 8 and left them completely unplugged. These were all cylinders on the other side of the engine than the cylinder 7 that I was having the problem with. So because of the way they left my vehicle I was driving an 8 cylinder truck on 3 cylinders and very likely could have gotten in to a wreck. They also ran my cylinder 7 ignition wire directly over my headers --so it was smoking and melting the wire to the header. Not to mention that it smelled strongly of weed outside the shop as well as in the cabin of my truck when I picked it up... The diagnostic was more expensive than I would have thought (over $200). The mechanic in my family said that they were charging me $200 an hour in labor since the diagnostic should have only taken an hour. When we told the owner of Amber Automotive about the state in which they left my vehicle and requested a refund we were told that the cost of the diagnostic would not be refunded but they did offer to replace my ignition wire. I declined. I would rather not ever go back there. I would not recommend Amber Automotive to anyone. Predatory practices, unacceptable level of incompetence, and bad customer service.
