That was a superb 5k service for my RAV4. Probably one of the best car shop experiences of my life. These guys are fast, friendly, courteous, accommodating and thorough. Booked an appointment for the next morning on the phone with Barry. Cale opened the shop at 8 am on the dot to check me in and my car was ready by 9 am. Their report and notes were stellar and they went over everything with me post-inspection. My biggest concern was the rooftop tent on my car that stays on the whole time. I’ve had a few sketchy experiences with past mechanics but the guys at Atomic reassured me that they’ll take care of my setup and be extra careful. That went a long way. The shop is awesome. Clean, open waiting space to get some work done and good WiFi. You can see straight into the working area through the glass windows which adds a layer of transparency - great shop design! Their costs are on the higher end. My usual $70-80 service cost $115 there but you get what you pay for. They were excellent and pleasant to work with, easy to book last minute, and only took up one hour of my day, while I got to catch up on work at their shop. It was worth the extra cash for me. Will be my go to shop in Portland going forward.

I’m really impressed by this place, the communication and quotes for work was extremely transparent and fair. They made a lot of recommendations for repairs but explained everything really well, so I felt comfortable saying yes. Much of the work was cheaper than at the Toyota dealership with infinitely better customer service. I really like their online system of recommending services in advanced so you can review and research before your appointment. I’ll be taking my Prius here exclusively from now on.

We were delighted with Atomic. We live across town so their location is not ideal, but we heard great things and it was worth the trek. Great communication from initial contact, estimate and repair. We knew what was going on and there were no surprises. They shared services they recommended but with no pressure to up sale. Our Prius doesn’t need maintenance very often, but when it does this is where we’re going from now on.

Took my second generation Prius to Atomic for an oil change, air and cabin filter check/replacement, and wiper blade replacement. Quick service. Final price was about what I expected. I liked seeing a bunch of other similar vintage Priuses at the shop. Waiting area was a little plain. Their location is further away than I would like. But I will probably go back, especially with a hybrid specific problem like the inverter coolant pump failure that came up last year. Beaverton Toyota took 2 visits to fix that, and had to order the pump. Atomic would have charged a lower price, and stocked the pump.

Atomic Auto seriously saved me! My 2G Prius is getting up in years and had a faulty combination meter but was still driveable, so I delayed repairing it due to the expected high cost for such a small part. Until one day, it just completely died in a parking lot. No start, couldn't jump it, nothing. After trying to contact *ahem* "another major retailer" to no avail, I gave Atomic a call and they immediately called me back, were super friendly, and communicated expectations and repair timeline very clearly. Car was towed in, repaired, and ready for pick up SOONER than estimated. The best part? The quote was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than both the major retailer AND the internet had estimated. So much so that, if I had known, I wouldn't have waited so long to get it fixed! All that is to say, THANK YOU Atomic! And as long as I'm living in the Portland area, I won't be bringing my car anywhere else!

Atomic auto is hands-down the best, honest, transparent and deeply thorough and informative automotive service provider we’ve ever had. We’ve been using them for about 10 years for our 2007 Prius that now has 250,000 miles on it as well as for our 2019 Toyota hybrid RAV4. I can’t say enough about all the times they’ve helped us in a pinch when we just needed advice on something that we wanted to learn more about or someone else quoted us super high on. They always gave us honest annd informative answers; sometimes letting us know we entirely didn’t need the service at all. When they learn common problems with certain models, they always inform their customers through their super helpful blog post whether it be giving people a heads up on catalytic converters being stolen and the cat guard that you can installed or buying a part somewhere else and then bringing it to them to install to save money or learning about refurbished batteries that can bring the price down. We also appreciate their really efficient and organized method of communication and processing. Our schedules are always changing yet we are always able to work something out with them because of how efficient they are with their processes and communication. There’s of course been a few times when mistakes were made too and they've never hesitated to correct them and make it right quickly. We hope they’re around for a long time and if you need help use them you’ll be glad you did.

Love this place! Atomic Auto made a very bad day seem much better — red triangle of doom came on in my 18-year-old Prius while transporting an ill family member and we had to have the car towed during rush hour — but their mechanics had a quote ready early the next morning and the work was done the next day! Switched to Atomic Auto this summer after they took several hours to complete a service on my ac that the dealership wanted to keep my car for a few days to complete. Had my oil changed and general maintenance done this week and I’m never going back to the dealership. Comparable prices, but without the upselling and bs. I have been coming to Atomic Auto for five years. They provide excellent service and have kept my 2008 Prius in excellent driving condition. I go twice a year for oil change which includes rotating tires. They recommend what I need, based on their computerized records and what they see when they inspect my car. I totally trust them to recommend what is actually needed. As a senior it is important to me to keep my car running and safe. I am grateful for their honesty and good care.

This time I just got new tires, but I take my Prius there for EVERYTHING. When they find issues with my car, they always give a full explanation of what's going on and the level of urgency for new issues (usually, it's "this can wait until your next oil change, but it does need to happen.") They never try to upsell, and I always feel like they're talking to me like a friend and colleague, not a helpless woman (women, you know what I'm talking about.) The prices are a bit higher than if you took your car to a chain, but my Prius is 16 years old with 170k+ miles, and it's running beautifully. The way they talk to me always gives me the sense that they really care about my car running properly. That trust and peace of mind is worth the extra bucks.
