I’ve dealt with Tommy for several years as well… But I wanted to take the time and praise him for his professionalism, courteousness, expertise, and generally great demeanor. And just to be clear, when I say that I’ve used this company 10 years… And I’m friends with the owner… Tommy stayed at our house last night. That’s the kind of company this is. I was happy to have him stay at our house instead of a random hotel. He is a great technician and was (as per usual) a wonderful guest at our home. It’s hard to know where to start with this team. In short - it’s in the name… if you want a professional install of all things AV - do not hesitate to hire them. If you want more details, read on. We had Brian F and his team which included Emily, Brian, Gary, and one other guy whose name I can’t recall. We asked for a theater in our basement, but without its own room. We have an open basement so only a portion could be dedicated to a theater. We wanted over the top… borderline too much for the space. I had ideas and must haves… but after expert consultation and after seeing a their show room, adjustments were made. I trusted Brian’s recommendations and am very glad. We have a 120 inch screen with a short throw projector in a ridiculously nice cabinet that keeps it protected, opening only when you turn it on. There are twelve speakers all in the walls or hidden in the ceiling that you can barely see. When I say it’s like a n actual theater, it doesn’t quite do it justice. This thing will rock your world. As for service - they are excellent. They began installation very quickly (within 10 days of coming up with a plan) and had it done in under a week. They had to install speakers behind shelves with our kids’ legos in the way. The legos were neatly lined up on the floor which had to have taken about 10 minutes of their day. They’re just good people who are absolute experts of their craft. When we decide we “need” another special project, we’ll be calling them again.

Dan and his team did a great job installing their equipment shortly after we moved into our new home. I recommend AVS to anyone that is looking to transition their house to a “smart home”. We now have the ability to control our home’s music, multiple TVs, lighting, and security system with our smart phone. The technology is so efficient and a must for anyone that is hoping to host their family and friends. Dan and his team spent 5 days working in our home and were a pleasure to have around while we went about our daily routine. Dan’s tech wizard, Gary, was very easy to work with and wanted to help you understand the equipment and how to use the App. There are issues that come up with the transition and Gary was on it. Been two or three months now since we were promised a call back because our patio speaker system doesn’t work. Now the entire system is down AGAIN. Not sure what the problem is but we certainly can’t seem to get any callbacks or service calls. I really don’t understand—we’re more than willing to pay for service repair, but they don’t respond. Have no clue if if this is an installation problem or something else in our house that is causing the issue—but it certainly isn’t getting fixed. We’re about ready to throw all the equipment into the trash and go w a completely different technology. Nice people, but I’d never recommend this service. Service quality is absolutely awful.

I first met Dan in 2009 when he set up a Sunfire 5.2 system in my family room at my home in Woodstock. I liked the system so much that I had him install the same in my basement viewing area. Both systems ROCKED for movies and music. Party-goers often commented that the dance music sounded great. :-) Fast forward to 2022 and I have moved to McHenry. I was in the market for a 77” OLED and a Sonos sound bar (doing a minimalist audio system at the new house). I contacted Dan and he remembered me from 2009. We talked about how I want the display and sound bar mounted on the wall with minimal drywall cutting and to hide all of the cables. He knew exactly what I wanted. Tom and Gary came to the house and went over the install plan with me. They took the time to have a vacuum follow the drywall cutter to ensure no dust in the house. After mounting the TV and sound bar, they set up the Smart TV and Sonos system. It was a great experience working with them both. Everything turned out great! I am really pleased with how clean the look is on the wall, it’s just what I wanted. I am going to have AVS back out this summer to help design an outdoor audio system for my new deck, pergola, and fire pit area. Thank you Dan and Team AVS.

Gary C. from AVS did a terrific job of setting up a new soundbar for our TV, which included the work to re-mount our TV on the wall to make space for it, as well as the wiring and setup of the soundbar itself. Gary worked efficiently through the process, took care when working around our furniture and in the house, took the time to teach us about the new equipment, and cleaned up and removed all the boxes when he left. Even after we discovered a minor issue, he came back the following day and fixed it in minutes. We are very happy with AVS (repeat customers) and highly recommend them to anyone for their audio-video needs!
