From the moment I called and was greeted with an enthusiastic “Happy Friday!” I knew I had found the right place. My BMW had a “right low beam malfunction” which I was told could be fixed same-day. I brought the car in and it was fixed within 45 minutes. Camille was so friendly and so knowledgeable on German cars, which is no surprise as he’s been doing this for 45 years. The cost was more than reasonable. And on top of that, there were Krispy Kreme donuts and chocolate chip cookies for the customers (and you just know I devoured a cookie). Will absolutely come here again should I need to as I’m so tired of dealing with the dealerships.

Will, by "no circumstances give a rough estimate over the phone." I know all the reviews on here seem good but, auto mechanics as a whole are a shady group and I would like to know roughly, how much I am going to be charged before I walk in the door. I told him the issue, gave him the exact part I needed and he would not tell me any information and was rude. Hence the 1 star review. I have met one too many dishonest mechanics in my life to drop my car off somewhere not knowing what my bill is going to be. EDIT: RESPONSE TO THE BUSINESS OWNERS DISHONEST COMMENTS. By no means did I lie in anything I said. You would not, and I quote “by no means give an estimate over the phone”. So, I think you need to take a second look at yourself before you go lying to everyone on here, sir. Also, if you are really perplexed on why people don’t trust mechanics, go ahead and read “Ray Arroyo’s” post from 4 months ago about YOUR business and how outrageously overpriced you are. Read that a few times and the next time someone calls with concerns of being over charged by a mechanic, you will at least understand. I don’t think you’re a bad person but, by the way you responded to this post, you are definitely not the best business man. I stand by my review of 1 star. Keep in mind, it’s not wise to argue with potential customers on google reviews. You look un-educated and very unprofessional. Have a Merry Christmas.

This shop raises red flags with their questionable practices. When I called to ask about the cost of a transmission fluid replacement, they refused to provide any information over the phone and insisted I come in person. It feels like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, designed to lure customers in and hit them with inflated prices. Their lack of transparency is deeply concerning, and I'd advise potential customers to be wary.

They are the best. The battery died in my Mini Cooper S. I thought that was no big problem and one place offered to change it out. I spoke with a family member that advised it would require more than just replacing the battery as the computer on board also needs to be accessed and updated with the new battery information. I called Bauer German Car Repair and spoke with Andreas. He confirmed/explained what needed to be done, quoted the price and timeframe. My care was completed before expected. Andreas is the best. We will use Bauer German Car Repair for both of our cars. Thank you Andreas.

Andreas at Bauer German Auto came through for me, and I'm very appreciative. By phone, he gave me clear information and an estimate. Understanding the urgency of my issue, he then gave me VIP treatment and expedited my repairs, and had it completed before he even promised he would! This company has been around for a long time in this location, and my sense is they really know their way around German cars, which can be more complex than the average vehicle. When I came to the shop to pick up my car, it was very busy there. Lots of cars, mechanics, people around, activity, it seems like a pretty thriving place. This is a good sign because it points to customer loyalty. My sense also is that this is not a corporate business out to make a quick buck. It seems like a family business that takes a certain pride in their reputation. Thank you Andreas and friends.

Highly recommend! If we could give extra stars we would. We showed up to the shop on a Thursday late afternoon with a thermostat issue on our BMW X5 he came out took a look and said it will be ready tomorrow afternoon and saved us a lot of money compared to what the dealer quoted and he even replaced the water pump for what the dealer quoted me for just a thermostat. All his employees are all very helpful and courteous. Owner is a cheerful guy and is happy to help you.

I’ve only been to Baurer German Car Repair a couple of times since getting my older BMW, but I totally understand why the previous owners had been going there for years. I work with Camille, and he’s been great honest, efficient, and super knowledgeable. He gets me in quickly, explains what needs to be done (without trying to push extra work), and my car always runs noticeably better afterward. He also makes the experience easy-he’s funny, personable, and genuinely helpful. Even though the shop isn’t the closest to me, I don’t mind the extra drive because I know I’m getting solid, trustworthy service. Highly recommend Camille and Baurer if you’ve got a German car and want it taken care of right.

Hey all, this is it; this is the shop you take your baby to. The service I got here was outstanding, doing much better than any other shop I've been to. You can rest easy regardless of the work you need done. I went in the shop with a few issues that I ran into up in the Azusa canyon, but Andreas and his team solved them all and put me at ease. So when I'm back in the area, and the canyons call, I'll know if I run into any issues the boys at Bauer German Auto will solve them. Thanks y'all 🤙

Showed up to begin the process of a warranty claim and straight off the owner started screaming and yelling at me so much and loud to the point where his technicians were coming out of the garage, all because he got defensive when I told him “you could have explained things a bit better when I asked you over the phone before I had my car towed over here”. I never raised my voice at him and I was never mean, the guy needs to learn how to properly communicate with customers and I would have been more willing to spend money there if the old man was acting his age instead of his shoe size

My 2019 Audi A5 has only 19,500 miles on it, and is in excellent condition. It needed an oil change, so instead of going to the West Covina Audi dealership, as always, I decided to try a local mechanic specializing in German cars. The reviews seemed solid enough, and Bauer has been in business for 40+ years. Instead of being honest, Andreas Bauer said my motor mounts were both bad and needed to be changed! A $2,500 job. My husband wanted me to drive a safe car, so approved the work. Turned out that motor mounts don't go bad until 60,000 or more likely 100,000 miles, and the car shakes, vibrates at a stop, etc... None of this was true for my smooth running car. We took the motor mounts to an independent mechanic for a second opinion, and proved Andreas Bauer took advantage, sold work that did not need to be done, and lost a new, potentially life-long customer over greed and dishonesty. BE AWARE! Do not trust Bauer for any vehicle.

Customer beware! Bauer blew my head gasket and cracked the head of my engine. These guys were a bunch of amateurs with my BMW and they hid under the guise of German specialty shop. This shop blew my engine due to negligence and inability to properly diagnose a rather simple repair. A $20 thermostat and knowledge from a 18 year old auto shop student would've prevented all this mess. They were also very inconsiderate with my car. My car sustained multiple paint damages from their lack of care. I took the shop to small claims and I was awarded $6365 for all the damages caused by them. Of course Bauer appealed the judgement and the 2nd judge unfortunately dismissed the case due to a lame technicality, because the car wasn't my "legal property" as it wasn't registered into my name yet smh! Even though I'm the legal owner with title, bill of sale etc! unfortunately I wasn't able to recoup my damages nevertheless I had a great case against them and this should be proof enough for any consumer to determine their level of caution when dealing with this shop. My wish is to help a fellow consumer avoid any hardship. Be cautious when dealing with this business. My point of contacts during my ordeal, Camille & Andreas. Court Ordered on 12/14/2023 West Covina Courthouse $6365 judgement against Bauer case #23WCSC00347. An observation I had during my small claims case, Coincidentally, Bauer had other small claims case complaints against them during my own hearings. I watched these cases and I was left speachless. I hope this review serves you well!
