Was referred to better performance by noel automotive in west branch. We discovered the electrical panel in the engine compartment of our diesel 2009 chevy had a breaker that melted the board. I was amazed that the mid Atlantic region where I was previously didn't have the component, but a lesser populated area like Iowa city had one. The guys at better performance correctly diagnosed the problem, made sure nothing else was wrong that would short out the new board. They also changed the oil with full synthetic which they got to their shop on special request as that is not what they usually carry. A few months on from the visit and there arent any other electrical problems and the trailer lights on my camper are still working as a result of fixing the circuit board. I would definitely recommend the shop for diesel and general mechanics.

Tim is a very knowledgeable tech and a pleasure to work with. The dealership in IC mis-diagnosed the issue with my diesel truck insisting I needed 4 new injectors for $2400. I decided to get a second opinion. Tim properly diagnosed the problem which was a common injector wiring harness issue. Tim squeezed me in on the Friday before Labor Day weekend and I was back up and running within 24 hours of even meeting him. Awesome guy, great service, will never take my truck anywhere else. The truck serviced was a 2004.5 Duramax Diesel lly

Tim is very professional. He has great attention to detail when it comes to working on vehicles. Brought my '15 Duramax to him for a compound turbo with delete, exhaust, shocks, air ride rear bags, B&W fifth wheel hitch and EFI Live tuner. Tim completed my truck on time with no problems. All this was done in 3 days.

I called to set up an appointment and was told to bring my car in on Thursday (I was not given a time frame to bring it in, I was not told to bring it in in the morning, I was just told to bring it in on Thursday, which I can prove because I record all of my business calls just in case of issues such as this. Because of this I assumed the appointment was Friday and they wanted me to bring it in a day early so it was there in the morning, like every other mechanic shop I have ever worked with does. Most shops will have you bring your car in the day before, not the day of.) I tried calling at 9am that Thursday to make sure of the time I needed to bring the car in and no one answered. (which I can also prove via my call log) When I got the car to the shop at around 2pm I called and was told that I was too late and they would have to change the appointment to next week. I had to drive my car (which is not technically even safe to drive) for over 30 minutes to get there, after I had tried to contact them just to have to turn back around, wasting my time, gas and miles on my spare tire. As I stated, I tried calling in the morning and got no answer, they had my phone number and did not even bother calling me to ask if I was bringing it in, and on top of that when I was explaining to my wife what the problem was the mechanic comes out sees us talking about it, laughs at us and walks away. Very rude, very unprofessional. I will be taking my money elsewhere to a company that doesn't waste my time, gas,/money and then laugh in my face. If this first impression is any indication of how customers are treated at this shop, I would say this shop does not deserve customers.
