BEWARE OF SCAMMER. We came to get a screw removed from a tire. Before signing any paperwork or giving us an estimate, an employee started working on the tire (my partner was watching him) while I was speaking with the owner. He pulled the screw, which had not punctured through the tire, and then punctured the sidewall of the tire with the repair tool. Then the owner and I came over and he demanded we buy a new tire. Thankfully I realized they were trying to scam me and refused. After a fair amount of arguing, they gave up and put a temporary patch in the tire. The employee who punctured the tire apologized and said “sorry my boss just wants money”. I think that speaks for itself. Avoid this shop if you can, as they will likely try to scam you too.

I came to this auto shop to have some new headlights installed on my car. The mechanic, Jason, was super helpful. He gave me a reasonable price for the work that needed to be done. He saw how dirty the exterior of my car was and gave me a free wash with it! Not only that, Jason stayed after hours to help me with all this. Very nice guy.

I brought my car in for a Smog check and they ended up finding a nail that was in my tire that another shop missed. I had been stopping to get air in my tire every month for a year, and they fixed it in 30 minutes. I’m so grateful they offered to check! It was all around a great experience and will definitely go back if I need any work done on my car in the future. It was affordable and all of the staff was incredibly nice!

Took my audi a3 in for an A/C repair. They installed a new compressor and recharged the freon. It stopped cooling within 2 days. I brought the car in several times for them to diagnose. Scheduling was challenging. They even did another repair to the cooling system since this job and didn't get around to checking the leaking A/C system. After 1 year of failed appointments I still don't have a working A/C and will be repairing this else where.

My vehicle broke down in the city, Jonathan was able to coordinate a tow and have our vehicle towed to his shop the same day. Jonathan from Bob’s was able to give me an answer the same day on what repairs were needed along with the turnaround time. They diagnosed the problem and found a loose wiring on the fuel injector causing the vehicle to turn off by itself due to it not being grounded properly. Professional and accurate diagnostics. I was in and out the same day! Thank you to Jonathan and the team at Bobs for resolving this so quickly.

Took my Honda hrv here to get a bunch of work done (oil change, smog, break pad replacement, brake fluid change). First off, they were very clear and upfront with the cost estimates of each item I was asking (initially asked for them to take a look at my brake pads to see how long they had left in them). When they had finished assessing the brakes they again clearly broke down and explained everything that needed to be done and why with the costs. Even with the added labor of the brakes and bake fluid change they got everything same day. Very reasonable prices, excellent communication, great customer service. Bob’s is such a great shop to take your car to if you need any repairs, cannot recommend them enough.

I don’t have a car, but if I did, I’d take it to Bob. Look at the signage alone — day-glo yellow, emblazoned with screaming red Chinese letters proclaiming its name and function. The energy maybe misplaced, but magnetic. My car would be drawn in automatically. . It would nose into the garage, open its hood like a mouth, and wait — patiently — for dentist to begin: oil change, brake fix, lube job. Whatever it takes to become a clean machine, a dream of a machine. Bob, take me.

I’ve been bringing my family vehicles to Bobs for over 20 years. My most recent service was for the Lexus Shocks. They were bouncy and leaking oil. Jason diagnosed the concern I was having within an hour, gave me quality parts at a reasonable rate. Not only did he ensure to have it done within the same day so that I can have my car to go to work the next day but also showed me what was done and explained everything detail by detail, I had a lot of questions and he took the necessary steps to make sure I understood by explaining it to me as if I was 5 years old. Jason is one of those mechanics that are hard to find, I value the relationship I have with him. Thank you for taking care of my cars!

I’ve been bringing my Toyota Rav 4 to Bob the day we bought it, every time the vehicle has a problem, it was repaired accurately and on time. Most recently I had to replace the brake pads and rotors due to rust, they accommodated me last minute and worked with me within my budget to ensure quality was never compromised. My next service is due for tune up as I approach 100,000 miles. Will be back to Bobs when the time comes!

Bob's was a savior when my vehicle broke down in the middle of the road. Jonathan, I believe the manager, was able to help fit me in when my vehicle needed repairs. After they finished inspecting the vehicle, Jonathan was able to tell me exactly what was wrong, what might have caused this to happen and what was the correction and outcome of the repairs would be. In my case, my Engine Control Module failed on my Chevrolet Tahoe due to water damage that caused the module to short out. They were able to order the computer module, have it reprogrammed and I was in and out within a few days. Shops like Bob's are very hard to find these days with upfront and clear communication. I know nothing about cars, asked lots and lots of questions and every time I would get an honest and upfront answer to it. He even guided me and even had a very long discussion with me about my car's maintenance schedule and what to possibly look for at my car's age and mileage. I've never had a mechanic that would go this in depth with me about my vehicle, it makes me realize that there are people out there that care about their profession and not because to make a quick buck. I found my new trusted mechanic that I can rely on. Thank You Bob's!

Do not buy from this place. They thrive on taking people's hard earned money. The whole experience was shady. Bad business practices. I needed a long block for my son's pickup. They wouldn't show me the motor they intended to send me until I paid the full 2200$. Then they send me pics of the donor ipc with proof of mileage. But they sent 2 different ipc with 2 different mileage. I was told I would be getting a motor with 65k miles for 2200. The engine they sent me sat in my shop wrapped like they sent it for a month and a half. Once I finally got my bay open we started the job my son and I. Following there install requirement removed the oil pan and front cover to check timing and found rocks in my cylinders. Chucks of rock sand mud. This engine has been under water and the proof is inside the engine. So I reached out and was told because I waited more than 15 days to install there warranty is void. If I had waited or not the engine would still need to be totally torn down witch is not what my son paid for. This place is the worst. I'll be contacting bbb

I am very grateful I found a reliable, honest, and kind car repair shop in San Francisco. I am always scared driving around the city because the hills and small streets feel crazy, but knowing I have Bob's Auto Shop is a lifesaver!! I've been here once before for an oil change. Recently, my car started shaking and the check engine light came on so I immediately took it to Bob's since I remembered they did a good job with my first oil change. They were able to diagnose and fix my car the same day. (It was a misfire in my engine). I also was able to get another oil change that same day. They have the sweetest staff who make sure you are taken care of too! I would definitely recommend this spot and I will continue to come here for any car maintenance/repairs!
