I really was not gonna write this review. The chain of events. I call on Thursday inquiring about an oil change for Friday morning. They indicated that they opened up at 8 AM and it’s first come first serve. I show up at 7:30 AM on Friday morning. Wait for 8 o’clock the young woman walks over to, one of the mechanics she comes back to me after 10 minutes and says can you come back in an hour? I said no as I was leaving the nephew of one of the owners arrived and I expressed how disappointed. They clearly had their own vehicles on the left doing work on them. two green vintage range rovers. He call his uncle and the put me one the phone with him. He tells me often times they have cars left over from the night before customer cars. This was a lie! The two green vintage range rovers where the shops cars. The are selling for $65.000. They finally get my car on the lift for simple oil change. Then broke my brand new key fob And somehow that was my fault. The pieces were left in my cupholder and I was told to glue it because it was an aftermarket. Housing brand new. The locksmith charged me $155 but somehow it was my fault. I was told to go on Amazon and buy key case. For $235 oil change. I’ll just go to the dealer from now on. When you got to the hood. You should only expect hood experiences. First and last time last time customer.

I’ve been brining my trucks here for many years. I was referred to them by one of the sales people at the dealership. They are really the best places to go to save some money. They do the same exact work as the Land Rover dealership but at a fraction of the price. The staff are super professional, courtesy, an extremely knowledgeable. They treat u like family. The work is excellent an they do it in a timely manner. I highly recommend this shop

Best Land Rover service in the city. Very fast, courteous, no-nonsense. I think an oil service/regular maintenance package offer would be a good way to encourage the 3-4k mile visits these vehicles require. Will be back.

I'm a Range Rover fanboy. Newly back to the East Coast and already had a bad experience with a dealer on Long Island. I tried these guys and I am impressed. It was totally worth the drive into the Bronx. Jenny is terrific and the owner (Carlos) introduced himself and is a great guy.

It’s tough to find a quality mechanic for Land Rovers, these guys know their stuff but just be prepared to roll with what comes with it. Pretty ordinary customer service, prices can be steep and you need to really be specific. Came in for a service and look over for my ‘88 diesel RRC. Mentioned the belt was frayed and I know it needed a good service all round. Turned out to be a head gasket issue. $4k+ later, I got the car back and it did run better! When I picked it up they’d lost the rear bumper? Never replaced it. When I drove it home, the belt I asked them to check broke and I had to wait another week to ship one to myself to end up just doing it myself. A learning curve no doubt. Good mechanics, especially given you don’t have many options in this city for vintage rovers.

Honest and trustworthy. Most shops wanna charge you a Range Rover tax to work on the vehicles. Some mechanics will throw you crazy rates for simple fixes. British Autowerks was fair and honest with their pricing.

British Auto Works was highly recommended to me, Shoutout to Jenny for being courteous and trying to communicate effectively. Every other person I spoke to had a different story each time they decided to respond. I DID NOT have a good experience. I took my vehicle with no lights on (ie Check engine) took it for oil and brake change-after picking my vehicle up...it was one issue after the other. I then had to return being that my vehicle was not starting- they seemed to be guessing what was the issue was. My car was there this time for one week and in that time frame my cars hood latch was broken, the steering wheel cover off and the glove compartment lock broken. Very sloppy-as that was done by their mechanic. Mind you they had the key to the glove compartment. I took my car from there-had I left it there one more day God knows what else they. would've damaged. That's very unprofessional especially a shop that mainly deals with luxury cars --____-- The negative reviews are real, they'll have one story after another. "Surprisingly"-I took my car elsewhere where the (starting)issue was remedied in a professional manner. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere...'CHEAP' is EXPENSIVE! I would not recommended this shop. Hopefully no one else has to deal with a similar situation. I wish them well!

This year was my second time taking my car to be serviced here, and I 100% recommend anyone with a Land Rover vehicle to go here. I used to take my car to the dealership, but they literally charge an arm & a leg for service. You will get better quality work done here at a fraction of the price and they are very fast as well. For reference, I drive a 2016 Range Rover Sport SVR.

Carlos and Jenny are great, they really work with you. They understand all the wacky quirks of what it’s like to own a Range Rover. We love Rovers until we hate them. BAW always seems to be able to be a bridge back to love.

Jenny and Danny were true professionals. Great service, communication and attitude. If you ever consider going to the dealer once your LR is out of warranty (or during warranty), do not go. Go to British Auto Works Inc.

I wish I could leave a good review since a friend highly recommended this place. I had a terrible experience here though. I left my car here for a few days to have the o2 censor replaced after days of trying to get an answer (getting the run around) on whether my car had been looked they told it would be ready to pick up. When I got my car back, everything I left inside had been stolen. I was assured it would be parked somewhere safe while it was in there possession. My camping gear, my sons toys, some clothing and more were all taken from the trunk, there were all things missing from the glove and the seat pockets. They told me they would look at the cameras and when they did they claimed someone from the shop moved the car where there were no cameras. To make matters worse when I took the car home the issue that was there was worse and I noticed the car was smoking and driving differently. I brought it back and they charged me to look it over even though it had just left the shop. In the end I ended up paying for two diagnostics, and some repairs that made the car drive worse than when I brought it there. The breaks no screech when I drive. I feel they took advantage of me being a woman. The woman the front desk doesn't have the most welcoming disposition. For the kind of money they are charging I would recommend Churchill Classics.

I had a positive experience at British Auto Works during our first interaction when they replaced the headliner on my Discovery II in March. Since then, I sent a friend in to have his done too. Unfortunately, their experience has led me to write this review. Friend dropped off his truck on 6/23 requesting new headliner fabric, cleaned sunroof drains, and an oil change. They came back with a massive invoice with a service order to approve for several thousand worth of work (as most of these trucks can need on any given day), which friend declined, as any rational person would. The truck ran and drove fine into the shop, and he was adamant about only getting the specified work completed. They charged him a surprise diagnostic fee and after that, it was understood that the headliner, sunroof drains, and oil change work would be completed. Fast-forward to 7/2, and a friend arrives promptly at 10:15am after confirming on 7/1 the truck would be ready the following morning and proceeds to wait at the shop until 2:00 pm. Delays happen, fine, not a big deal. The deal-breaker is that the friend returned from vacation this past weekend to find the headliner soaked in water and sagging in some areas due to failed sunroof drains that hadn't been repaired. Upon correspondence with the shop, they claimed only the headliner and oil change were requested; cleaning the sunroof drains would be an additional charge. Every Rover owner knows replacing a headliner without cleaning sunroof drains is like mopping your floor wearing muddy boots. Now, no remedy offered for the $650 headliner job now ruined. TLDR: This shop is capable of doing excellent work, but has led their integrity into question. After this experience, I'm questioning their work entirely and must assume that my own sunroof drains (3+ months ago) weren't cleaned. It's safe to assume you don't want them changing your oil or tackling any job, big or small, if this is the character they embody and the gaslighting tactics they employ. Saddened to be reading this review.

I have been a client for nearly 20 years, and I can confidently say the service has remained consistently exceptional throughout the years. The team has always been upfront and honest about any issues with my vehicle, ensuring I’m fully informed before any work is done. They truly care about not just fixing the problem at hand but also maintaining my vehicle for the long term. Their transparency, expertise, and dedication to customer care have built a wonderful relationship over the years. It’s rare to find a service provider that combines professionalism with genuine care for their clients. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and dependable automotive service. Great team, great service!

Solid and I wouldn’t take my Range Rover Classic anywhere else. Danny is an expert in his craft but more importantly honest and operates with integrity.

My LR4 started acting junky just before the exit to BAW. I pulled over and called Carlos and he and his mechanic came in record time to investigate the issue. That would never happen elsewhere. #Range4Life

Honestly these guys will just keep adding onto the bill, and charge for things you don’t need. Either that or they are incompetent. Either way, keep your distance. Never mind their bedside manner is absolutely terrible, they are just bad at the one thing they should be able to do with their eyes closed - service a Range Rover.

I was referred to this Land Rover mechanic by a friend who spoke highly of a technician named Carlos. After recently purchasing my vehicle, I contacted the shop to schedule a diagnostic and brake pad replacement. Unfortunately, my experience with the individual who answered the phone was disappointing. The representative displayed poor communication and customer service skills, provided unclear information, and came across as dismissive. As a result, I decided not to move forward with servicing my vehicle at this location. First impressions are important, and this interaction led me to seek service elsewhere.
