Even though this shop wasn't able to take us on the day we needed it, they diagnosed our problem, helped us find a towing company, and periodically checked on us while we sat broken down on the road outside waiting for the tow. Very helpful and kind!

These guys are awesome! They serviced my car twice for different issues and both was done in time and at reasonable prices. Will definitely recommend this place.

I have been using this shop for several years, and the owner Lincoln gives honest assessment of the problem, get my car fixed in promised time. Reasonable charge.

Lincoln quoted $440 to change a battery in my car, stating this was only an estimate. No thanks, I will take my business down the road to Paul's Battery and Tire.

Lincoln was incredibly helpful. They got my car in and out quickly for a more than fair price. Really happy I discovered this shop!

My rear brake needs replacement and I brought my car to California auto repair. I asked Lincoln if the rotors need replacement or not and his answer was emphatically "YES" without even measuring it with a micrometer or caliper. I then called BMW SF and talked to a service advisor, he told me the rotors need not be replaced since this is the first pad change. I then called Lincoln and question him on this. His answer was maybe BMW SF wants you to bring in the car in and then inform me the rotors need to be replaced. I got my car back yesterday and requested the old rotors be returned to me. Lincoln also showed me with a flashlight that the rotors were worn (without using a caliper/micrometer???) He would be the first mechanic that I have encountered that can tell if the rotor thickness is within tolerance without any measuring tools. I used my micrometer and the rotor thickness is well within the limit. I also told Lincoln that the rotors did not show any waviness/glazing. AVOID

My sister in laws car broke down at the gas station across the street. The guy there wanted $1,000 to replace her radiator. We walked across the street where we happened to find California Auto Repair and Lincoln replaced the radiator for $450. He was kind, helpful, competent and charged a fair price for the work. We feel lucky to have found him.

Lincoln price gauged and has poor interpersonal skills. He truly is an unethical mechanic and will take advantage from you if you don’t confront him. Ladies beware! Don’t do business with Lincoln!!! Also, reference L. G.’s Yelp review it will give you true inside on Lincoln’s degrading treatment toward women!!

Customer service friendly they charge about the average going rate so they are still decent. Where as most of the time mechanics try to over charge me just because I'm a woman and they think I don't know better or don't know anything about cars. So... they are decent.

Lincoln is a low key, responsible, intelligent guy. I've taken my car here for a tuneup, to fix some slight body damage (oops), and to have my brakes done. No complaints to report, just that everything went well and he was easy to work with, on time, and there we no surprises.

I started going here on a whim a few years ago when I had a fuel pump go out on me, Lincoln's shop is close to me and in the neighborhood. Turns out he's the best mechanic I've found in the city thus far. He's fast and thorough while still working with my budget. Most recently I dropped a car off with him to get some electrical work done as well as have a check engine light addressed and have new head lights installed. Not only did he do all of that but he also replaced a bunch of missing pieces that held my bumper in place. I told him I'd like to stay under $1000 for the repairs and he was able to keep it to $425. If your looking for an honest and transparent mechanic this is you're guy! I know so many people are afraid of mechanics who take advantage of their clientel and price gauge but this is not something you need to worry about here. I cant recommend California auto repair enough.

I cannot recommend CA Auto Repair and Lincoln's services enough- he is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and wonderful customer service! On the spot, Lincoln was able to recommend reliable parts and brands, how we should approach my repairs, and more. He is an honest, good man, and it's comforting to know that there are people like that nowadays.

OVERPRICED AND ULTIMATELY INEFFECTIVE My recent experience with California Auto Repair Services has been nothing short of an infuriating blend of incompetence and audacity. One would assume that a $500 repair bill would, at the very least, come with a resolution or a proper repair. I GOT NEITHER. I expected a professional diagnosis and an effective repair (I paid $500!). Instead, I received vague assurances and an invoice that seemed more like a ransom demand than a reflection of services rendered. The initial problems that I needed fixed were left unchanged, making me seriously question the skill and the integrity of this business. The complete lack of communication throughout the process was my first red flag. Any questions I asked were met with a condescending demeanor and dismissiveness - a TOTAL contrast to the professionalism one would expect from a supposedly reputable service provider. What completely shook me was the nonchalant attitude they had when I expressed my dissatisfaction. Rather than addressing the failure to fix my original issue, they were more interested in defending their incompetence and suggested another diagnostic - a desperate money grab without any guarantee of results. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS and find a different trustworthy establishment, unless you want to find yourself in a similar position to mine.

Lincoln is awesome--competent, courteous, attentive, trustworthy, and willing to take the time to listen. I've taken my car to him a few times, and mostly I've ended up doing the work myself (after he's helped me with the diagnosis). Most car shop owners hate people like me because I don't pay them to do the more pricey work. Lincoln has simply been pleasant and helpful the entire time. When I can't do the work myself, Lincoln will be the first person I take my car to. Also, the 3-star rating--it sounds like they had a great experience yet still chose to give just 3 stars. Go figure. Lincoln has been nothing but professional, courteous, and honest with me. That deserves 5 stars, especially given the reputation of auto mechanics.

Lincoln quoted my daughter $90 to do a thorough check of her car before she was going on a long road trip. He was very nice on the phone and super nice when my daughter brought her car in. He checked it all out and only charged the $90. He didn’t try to upsell her on anything and explained things clearly. She did need the under carriage of the car re-fastened and he ordered the part and charged a fair price to do that work. We will bring our car back there for sure! Thanks Lincoln!

A check engine lamp appeared on my dashboard, on my first day in San Francisco after a long cross country drive and I drove my Honda Odyssey to the nearest mechanic. I was so lucky that it was California Auto Repair. Lincoln is a very kind person and his optimistic attitude helped calm my nerves. He helped to diagnose the problem with my transmission and also alerted me to a problem with my rear brakes. I think his pricing is honest and fair and his shop is very efficient. I am happy to have a trustworthy mechanic in the city.

I just met Lincoln after bringing in my Audi Q3 for a TSB. Booked an appointment online, Lincoln called to follow up before bringing in my car. Easy in, easy out. Lincoln is a really nice guy, straight shooter, and I'll be back for all my auto needs in the future.

I stopped by California Auto Repair Service for a check-up visit and had a really great experience. The owner, Lincoln, was thorough and honest in his evaluation, taking the time to explain what actually needed attention and what didn’t. The work was done in a timely manner, and the fees were fair—not overpriced at all. It’s clear he runs his business with high integrity, which is hard to find these days. I appreciate the straightforward service and would definitely recommend this shop.
