Excellent customer service with great integrity. Could have taken advantage of a situation and chose not to. In fact, they discovered something we thought was going to be a significant repair was only a minor issue. Ended up costing less than $50. Honesty, and focus on earning repeat customers, not stiffing one-time customers. I do not live in Columbus, but if I am ever in need of automotive repairs in that area, I will definitely choose Campus. Wouldn't even consider finding an alternative choice. Great people!

I've taken my Subaru here several times over the years and I wouldn't take it anywhere else! They have been fast, accurate, and very affordable every time. They don't try to sell you with work you don't need and they have done all my repairs same-day. As long as I live in Columbus this is my go-to car shop!

Campus Auto Service is extremely helpful and professional. I had to tow my car here because the engine would not start and believed there was a short fuse in the engine. They were able to figure out that the problem was an issue with the battery installment and fixed my car in the same day. The workers there explained everything to me in a way I that’s I understood and were very kind. In recommend bringing your car here for any problems!

I went to have a mechanic check out why my car was sputtering on my Buick Encore. The cute blonde receptionist I read about on previous reviews was as friendly as she was over the phone. They diagnosed the problem quickly and informed me they could have it done by the time I got off work. I had expected a large quote due to possible engine issues, but the repair is minor and possibly saved me at least $600. I will definitely be back for repairs and routine maintenance. Thank you Campus Auto!!

The best auto customer service in Columbus thus far. This time I did not have to travel 1 hour back to hometown to get repair done. AFTER Searching and calling multiple places then I came across Campus Auto….A BLESSING. They work with you and take in consideration if you are a out of pocket paying customer and are very reasonable with quote/quotes. I highly appreciate that because paying for a new engine OUT OF POCKET is not easy.

My husband and I were in the middle of a cross-country move when our Honda CRV broke down. We called Andy because of the great reviews on Google and we are so glad we did! The tow truck ran late so we weren't able to get into Andy's shop until 5:30pm (he closed at 6pm that day). Nevertheless, Andy threw the car up, took a look and gave us a VERY fair estimate for a new A/C compressor, serpentine belt, power steering repair, and new brakes on the front. We had to stay overnight and Andy was even kind enough to drop us at our hotel on his way home. I say this not because it's a service he normally offers, but to illustrate his kindness and character. He started on the car first thing the next morning (a Saturday) to help us get back on the road. The shop opened up at 8am and we had the car by 11:30a. The actual charge was about $100 lower than the estimated cost because he spent less time on it than he thought he would - and that's even with taking care of a few smaller problems he noticed while he was working. The car runs like a dream and we made it to our destination with no problems. Andy was friendly, sympathetic to our plight, and incredibly fair. I seriously have no idea how to thank this man for his kindness other than posting this review. If I ever find myself living in the Columbus area, I would go to Andy exclusively. I can't recommend him enough.

They’ll tell you how it is, I’ve followed them for YEARS with my mom. Very reasonable pricing on everything, very quick with most “big” repairs the longest part is getting the parts that Andy doesn’t already have in his shop. They also are very good about breaking down exactly what’s going on with your vehicle and how much it will cost you.

I've been coming here since I moved to Columbus in 2018. The two main things that you need to know about this business is that 1.) they are honest and 2.) they do great work. I've never dropped my car off and received a massive estimate for unneeded/questionably recommended work. I can't recommend this place enough and they will always be my go-to here in Columbus

I have been going to Campus Auto Service for several years now, and they have serviced all of my vehicles. Andy and his staff are very reliable, honest and do solid work. The prices are very fair and reasonable. I trust Andy and his work. If you need a good, honest mechanic ... look no further. This is your place!

Usually don't do reviews. When I look at shops to do repairs on cars I look at the reviews. I am weary of shops that have reviews from people that don't often review any services let alone a car place. However, the service at Campus Auto was above and beyond and the least I owe them is a review. First of all Andy who helped me was a great guy. My request was to put downpipes on a 2010 335i xdrive was an odd one so he asked me to come in so he could access the job at hand. I walked into their shop not expecting much. I was greeted at the door and they immediately put my car on the lift and inspected the job. In a quick 10 minutes I was able to schedule and get a quote for the install, I was already impressed. When it came time to drop off my car it was quick and painless. The next week I dropped it off in the morning and got a call mid day that my car was ready for pickup. The install ended up being a pain and more labor hours needed to be added. However for what needed to be done on the install the price he quoted me at the end was unbeatable. Andy ended up charging me as close to the estimate as possible even though the labor hours surpassed the price of install. I had called countless other shops in the area that either would not tackle the job or charge double to what I payed at Campus Auto. I would highly recommend this shop for your variety of jobs and will be recommending others.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Started off thinking the guy was nice, but man, it went downhill. Took my car in for a diagnostic, left it there for a week, only to get it back with the same issue. Turns out, he misdiagnosed it – said my transmission was fine, but my car clearly disagreed. Things happen so I understood and was willing to give him a chance to make up for it. Gave him a second chance, he promised to swing by and check it out. Surprise, he never showed up. Had to call and ask again a week later, got the same promise, and guess what? Still a no-show. Fed up with the lies, I took my car somewhere else. The new place not only found the real problem but also called out the mess the first guy made on the first thing he supposedly “fixed”. Ended up throwing away over $300 bucks on a misdiagnosis. Turns out, my transmission wasn't anywhere close to "fine"; it was toast. Absolute waste of money. . When you're paying for something, you expect honesty, respect for your time, and a willingness to fix mistakes. Nobody has money to waste, especially in this current economy. This place? Not even close. Severely unorganized and dishonest. Save yourself the trouble.

Absolutely amazing. We were going though on our way home from the Columbus zoo and are from Indiana. My alternator went out with myself, 8 month old, 11 year old and my mother.. absolutely terrifying experience. We had the car towed there because it was our best option and planned to spend the night near by because they said they couldn't get us in. When we got there they said to give them about a hour to see what was wrong and we would have a better time of when we would be leaving the next day. 45 minutes later my alternator was fixed and we were on our way home. Extremely honest and friendly people. Very caring! They made a terrifying experience better. I had called another shop that wanted to charge twice as much just to take advantage of my situation, being from our of town with my kids. 10 starts, hands down. Thanks again for everything!

This place went above and beyond to make sure that my car was fixed and on a timely manner and I am very appreciative of them. I had quotes from 3 different shops and they had the best prices by far. They are very honest with their prices and will not try to upsell you on things you do not need. Next time I have car troubles I will most certainly be going to them.

I would NOT recommend having your car fixed at Campus Auto Service because of a very specific story of how I was treated by Andy. Andy fixed 2 of my front wheel bearings during the same time on a Wednesday afternoon. One wheel bearing was new and the other one was an aftermarket used part. On Friday evening, approximately 48 hours after I left Campus Auto Service my wife and I were driving to Cleveland and the entire front left wheel hub came off my car on the highway at a fast speed due to the wheel bearing. I came to a screeching halt and I was lucky to have my wife in a separate car behind me. We were in the middle of nowhere between Columbus and Cleveland and late to our plans, so we asked the tow-truck driver to recommend to a place where he could drop the car and we would get a hotel and deal with it all the next morning. He picked a great place, with friendly staff. When I contacted Andy to get a refund, he said "No." He claimed because # 1) I didn't contact him first to have it towed to a place that he approved of, and # 2) He wouldn't give me any money back because we didn't save the broken part to give to him at the shop. What sense does that make if we're not able to choose anything about this situation, and I'm not gonna pay to have my car towed twice to make him happy. At no point did he ever even offer an apology, and then it just got worse from there. He started ignoring my next several phone calls and voicemails. He would never answer the phone for me again, or return my calls, after that first initial conversation. I called 4 or 5 times. I would call and I could hear him talking in the background, and the young female at the front desk would come back on the phone with an attitude. I'm assuming she changed her demeanor in an attempt to just get me to stop calling. This whole thing just didn't make any sense to me, because I thought that he warrantied his work. I eventually decided to show up and talk to him in person, and he made things even worse. I said "Is this worth it to you to keep a couple hundred bucks if it means you'll end up losing me as a customer for life?" He dropped his head and started laughing at me! He responded with "This is how all auto shops in town would deal with this situation." It was the most condescending response I've ever had in a retail experience in my entire life. I think he realized what he said and started to try to do damage control on the spot and then decided to give me what ended up being approximately 35% of the original bill back on my credit card, and then another $50 as a store credit that I could use when I returned to his shop. He kept the remainder of my money. For what reason?...only Andy can answer that question. Save yourself the time and trouble and find another auto shop! When this shop is good...it's good. But when it's bad...it's really bad.

I have been using them as my mechanic for a few years now and every time I am amazed at how reliable they are. I never feel cheated or taken advantage of. Every time I bring my car in I get options. What do I need to do. What should I do. What is optional but good for the car. Their transparency is stellar. Quick example: I had an issue with a belt in the car. The mechanic I took it to quoted me for over 2k for the job. Brought it here and they 1) told me exactly when I would need to change it and 2) quoted me at around $100-$200. As long as I live in Columbus I will go to them first

I'm a college student and I know next to nothing about cars. Something was draining my battery and the car wouldn't start. Took it to Campus Auto. I waited a full week for a call before I eventually called them for an update. Someone else answered the phone and had no idea who I was or that my car was even there. Said he'd look at it by the end of the day. Waited on their call for days until I called a second time and asked what was going on. They put me on hold for 20 minutes, I assume so they could actually go take a look this time. They said it was the battery itself that was bad, despite it being less than 6 months old. I believed them, had them install a new one, only for the same battery draining issue to come back a week later. Went to O'Reilly's and the guy who helped me figured out in 10 minutes that my trunk wasn't latching properly causing the light to stay on and drain the battery. Guys at Campus Auto are nice, but seem forgetful at best or negligent at worst. After my car was there for 10 whole days they barely glanced at it and told me the wrong thing leading me to spend $250 I didn't need to.

I should have listened to some of these bad reviews. I truly do not know how this guy is not out of business. Do not take your car to this place. He has cost us around $5,000 when he broke our car and will not fix it, nor pay for the repairs or the car he broke. He acts real nice, but it's a shame how he runs his business. He made us promise after promise and did not keep them. I am sure he does a nice job on some things, but I want a mechanic whose actions are honest on all his jobs and stands by their word. He literally ruined our car and will do nothing about it. Wow, run away!

Andy is the most honest mechanic out there! I went in for an oil change and told him that my car's maintenance system suggested a coolant change as well. After examining it himself, he said the coolant is fine and doesn't need to be changed. He could have easily said the opposite to make a quick buck and I would have taken his word for it, but he didn't. Very fair prices as well!

The only shop I trust in Central Ohio. Andy is honest, committed and extremely competent. My whole family (five of us) are loyal customers.
