Called for an estimate and they sounded like I was putting them out, very unpleasant on the phone. They didn't ever bother calling me back with an estimate. The other shop I called got back to me same day and was very pleasant. It is very clear that capital city auto does not want or need my business.

Every time I call I get the owner of the shop Dan. He is always willing to help and has been able to diagnose most things over the phone without seeing the vehicle. They are very good at keeping you informed throughout the process. Up to date facility. Friendly service, and repairs only necessary problems with the car and will not over charge. Fair priced and great people. I wont go anywhere else.

I've been going here for several years and Dan + crew always do excellent work. This is the only auto place that I will go to. Their prices are reasonable and they don't try to sell you on repairs that aren't needed. Our son moved to Madison, WI in January 2020 with a beloved 2004 Honda Accord. It recently need some maintenance and another auto repair service attempted to take advantage of the situation. He stayed late while I was having it towed there and was able to complete the work sooner than expected. Communication was fantastic, he kept me posted along the way. For starters: Ignore this Richard guy's 1-star review. My experience reflects the countless 5-star reviews on here. This place is my go-to shop for any service on my car. Dan offers honest, straightforward, and quality service. He does not suggest unnecessary services like you often get at almost all dealerships. (Dealership service advisors get commission from the work their team does). Best shop in town.

It's about time I post a review for Capitol City Auto (disclaimer: if you know the owner and can read my last name, there's no relation). After I moved to the neighborhood a while back, I decided to go here because of all the reviews talking about their fairness and honesty, and I've never been disappointed. My latest service experience here was the perfect example. They had replaced all my major brake parts about a year and a half ago, and in December, I had a brake fluid leak, which turned out to be coming from one of the calipers. The warranty on the part had expired by then, but Dan called his distributor, and they agreed to replace the part for free so that piece involved no cost to me. But overall, I'm always confident that I'm in good hands when I take my car to Capitol City. Loyal customer for life.

The reception was very poor, with a frown as if there was a problem between us that I don't even know about. I was recommended by a coworker to this shop. I was told they won't try to upsell or anything like that. I was able to get my car looked at in a week to replace the front brakes and rotors. They looked at the rear ones and said they have 50% life and didn't need to be replaced. They were able to get the vehicle back same day. A good, honest auto shop.

These guys are awesome as well as professional! When my alternator failed, my car died on the side of the road several blocks from Capitol City Auto, but when I called them, they went out of their way to drive out to meet me with a jump kit so I could get my car to their garage! On top of that, they were able to squeeze me in to get it fixed at least a week sooner than originally planned. I'll be trusting this place with all my car service needs for as long as I live in the area. Couldn't recommend more!

There is absolutely nothing better than finding a mechanic you can trust, amiright? This is the only place we take our cars. The owner Dan is straightforward and honest and never tries to hustle or bs you. These folks are great and will answer any questions you have. You may miss the place as you’re driving by because it’s kinda hidden and DO NOT be put off by the retro waiting area because it’s actually a cool vibe, it’s clean and if you’re waiting the couches are probably more comfortable than any I’ve ever owned in my life!
