Had a Compustar 6900-AS remote start with alarm installed. The system has conflicts with factory options such as Auto Unlock door handles. Now I have to manually unlock doors or the alarm goes off and it effects additional safety equipment in the car too, such as blind spot monitors. When I asked them to make the program adjustments that, according to the manufacturer, “only the installer can do to the system”, the Car Tunes guy says I’m not doing it again, the manager says you’ll get used to it. Don’t put this in a newer vehicle, it may be ok in an older vehicle without any technology in it. This stystem is a step backwards in technology and Car Tunes customer service is lacking. If this system is what you want go to Best Buy. It’s an easy installation, no wires to splice just a programmed module to plug in and an antenna to install. Best Buy treats customers well there. I should have read the reviews, done more research, and found a company that’s customer friendly. Trust your instincts. If you walk in their front door, you’ll see what I mean. Signs all over the place “No Refunds” “No Returns” “No Exchanges “ They should add “No Good Service”. Years ago the owner Rob was a good guy to deal with. Today it’s nothing like it was, Rob’s not there and the good service left with him. Too bad. My best advice is STAY AWAY

Before having my backup camera installed I visited multiple shops, spoke with staff and got different quotes. Car tunes seemed to have the best staff and best price. They quoted me $625 for brand new radio with backup camera everything included. I decided to make an appointment and have everything installed. When I got there the price suddenly jumped up to $664, not a big deal, I understand mistakes happen. Then when I picked my car up the the steering wheel controls were not working. I went back inside and they said that was and extra $75. When I had gone to get my original $625 quote they had explained to me steering wheel controls were included and even showed me the box. They said they would install the steering wheel controls for $60 for the confusion which still made my total $724. That is $100 more than I was originally quoted. I was upset but I really wanted the steering wheel controls so I decided to make another appointment. When I went in for that appointment they told me they had accidentally used the last steering wheel controls on another vehicle and I would have to come back another time. Needless to say I will not be going back. I would not recommend Car Tunes to anybody, they have poor communication with customers and poor communication among staff. It would have been cheaper and a lot less of a headache to go to any of the other shops I had originally visited.

Installed something in my car that I was never given a make or mode number. Trusting that they would put a quality product in my car. They put lowest possible quality part instead. Immediately did my reasearch upon installation and within a hr told them I was not happy with this product. He told me to find a product I want and he would try to get it. No prob. Next day call him and tell him what I wanted. Gave me the run around playing phone tag for 3 weeks and then finally has the nerve to tell me that the distributor won’t refund him for the part and because he’s a small business there’s nothing he can do. So guess I’m screwed. But this review will forever be here as a warning to others. BEWARE

The people at car tunes are awesome. Great customer service and top notch work. Even gave me a ride home after I dropped my car off instead of me using Uber. Had a remote starter installed and they installed a sub that I had. The work came out terrific! Highly recommend them.
