The folks at this shop did good work on my vehicle. I had been traveling between states (SC/GA);when my vehicle took a nose dive on the July 4th weekend. I called on BigTow wrecker service for transport and the driver suggested I try Carpenter’s. After the observation of the holiday on that Monday, I contacted the shop, to make them aware that I had my vehicle dropped off there. The people I had been in contact with were kind; they all told me that I’d be ready by the end of the week and that it would cost x amount for the repair but it would be dependent on a part that was not readily available(that part took 3 weeks from the time it was brought there). I’m happy with their work, but not with the time it took. Timing is everything I guess; at the end of the day you’ll be happy with this shop’s work.

Excellent service. It feels like they actually care and are a trustworthy mechanic shop. Won’t go anywhere else. Thank you to Sarah and the team at Carpenters.

These guys are ALWAYS polite and always do their very best to let you know precisely what the deal is with your ride. And, if there's a simpler, more affordable solution to a problem? They actually tell you that, ask you if you want them to go with that repair, and then they DON'T CHARGE YOU FOR REPAIRS YOU DON'T NEED!! Talk about a real difference from a lot of other auto repair establishments!!

Definitely want to help this place in the review department. VERY cost effective and honest. I have used them once, my parents have used them multiple times. They don't try to break your piggy bank and they don't try to upcharge or sell you services you don't need. They are even more cost effective if you can bring them the parts you need replaced. Great people. Always full and will always try to get you in as soon as they can. Highly recommended...and I do recommend them every chance I get. Well done Carpenter's!

My 2 vehicles mustang and van have been here over 2 years. I call all the time and its one excuse after the other. All the van needs is a fuel pump but they have yet to even touch it. The mustang needs a distributor and Holley sniper carb. This doesn't take 2 years. I get pissed every time I think about it. I just want my vehicles back. Now I bet there is a whole bunch of other problems with them since they've just been sitting while everyone else gets their cars worked on and I've been waiting.

I was stranded right up the street with a flat tire and caught the owner on his way out the door. He came to the rescue filling up my tire so I could get to getting it replaced! Thank you so much and for your father who served our country.

Very nice people. They did some work on my truck. Very reasonable prices. I've been trying to go back by there and have them look at something else but, they have been so busy. No parking.

I went away from my first experience with his Auto place so excited and feeling Blessed. Frank quickly came to see how could help, so pleasant and quickly replaced my tire. I said my oil light was on could that be taken care of and he had that done efficiently so. Everyone there was very pleasant, I have been telling everyone since my need was handled and certainly didn’t take advantage of this widow lady. Prices so reasonable. THANKS CARPENTER FAMILY

I've been going to them for over 25 years and they get it right every time! They are good, honest, caring people. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they don't try to sell you things you don't need. Frank and his staff do great work! Highly recommend!

I was headed back home passing through the CSRA when my truck broke down on I20 near Grovetown. I gave a wrecker come out and the driver suggested Carpenters to me when I asked for suggestions on a good honest auto shop. This is who he recommended, there are plenty of repair shops between Grovetown and North Augusta and the tow cost me more. But, I am glad that he suggested them and that I used them. They are friendly and HONEST people. They found the issue and fixed it right away at a fair price and honest price and that is from other mechanics I know back home. I recommend them to anyone needing a mechanic in that area. Thank you - Good honest people need to be recognized!!

I was probably a "problem" customer with a terribly designed Jeep Renegade with phantom noises that came after getting struts replaced. I know the vehicle is not mechanic friendly, and neither was I. Frank and his crew still went out of their way to make sure I left happy. You won't beat their prices, just be patient, they are busier than Jesus responding to everyone's prayers.

SUPREMELY satisfied with my experience here. The staff was very courteous and engaging - they answered all of my questions and really inspired confidence in the quality of their work. I showed up first thing in the morning (8:00 AM) and was back on the road in just few hours with new rotors and pads installed. The price was a great value, too! I’ll be referring Carpenter’s to all of my friends and will certainly be a repeat customer.

This shop was highly recommended to me. I also live within walking distance, so it made sense that I would take the day off of work to be able to drop my car off in the morning, walk home, then walk back to get it later in the day. First of all, they do not take appointments, so it's first come first serve. I took my car just for a diagnostic promptly at 8:00 AM, which I should add, none of the staff were even there when I got there. All seemed to be well, they took my key and said they would call me when they knew something. Great. I didn't hear anything, so I called close to 4:00 (they close at 5:00) and they said that they still had several cars ahead of me. If I got there right at 8:00 AM, wouldn't I be the first on the list? If that wasn't the case, I should have been told there's X amount of cars ahead of you, right? Maybe they are good at what they do but they certainly need to work on their communication and presentation (boxes, clutter everywhere in the office)

Would NOT recommend. I took a vehicle there to repair and I clearly knew the problem and I explained it to the individual at the desk. I left the vehicle with them. I received a call later that nothing was wrong. I had the problem resolved elsewhere because the vehicle NEEDED REPAIR. It appears if they are too busy or just don’t want to help, they will brush off customers this way. This is the first and ONLY time I will be there.

Support local! I had a quickly deflating tire, which NTB quoted a 1.5hr wait and Costco a 2hr wait. Mr. Carpenter himself plugged the tire in about 10min for a very reasonable price. I’m forever grateful!

Fixed my SUV at a fantastic price, kept me informed on progress, and did not do anything without getting approval from me beforehand! Staff and mechanics are super nice, the whole place is very clean, and they don't try to talk you into anything you can't afford or don't need, plus, they made sure I was aware of any other issues with my ride before I left. Definitely check these folks out before you get your vehicle repaired anywhere else!!

I dropped my car off on Monday to have an issue checked out and was told I’d receive a call later that day with an update. I didn’t hear back until two days later, when I was informed that the power steering pump I had purchased and had installed just four days prior was defective. While I understand this wasn’t your fault since your shop didn’t do the original install, I rightfully requested to keep my old part so I could return it. When I asked if my mom could pick it up, the front desk staff seemed annoyed and said they didn’t have time for her to retrieve the part or process a return. I then asked how much it would cost to have your shop take care of it instead. I was told it would be about $100 more, and I agreed…as long as I got my old part back. However, when I was informed my car was ready, I was told there would be an additional $80 charge due to a core fee that wasn’t mentioned before. So at that point, I either had to pay $80 more than expected, or allow the shop to keep a $300 part that I had explicitly asked to retain. That didn’t feel fair or transparent. I understand things come up, but clear communication and customer service are essential in any business, especially when customers are trusting you with something as important as their vehicle. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously for the sake of improving future experiences.

My car needed to have a timing chain tensioner replaced. I brought the car to Carpenter’s. They looked at it and said the timing chain looked fine and that the solenoid needed to be replaced. After replacing it twice it still didn’t fix the issue. He set a diagnostic to run on my car for 2 weeks and I was advised to drive around so he could collect data. When I brought it back he said the engine was failing. The car died 2 months later. I had a different mechanic look at it after the car died and he told me the timing chain broke and I drove the car too long with it broken and that’s what caused the engine to fail. Carpenter’s are nice enough people but their misdiagnosis cost me $4000. Had they fixed what I asked them to in the first place, none of this would’ve happened and I’d have a working car. I do not recommend Carpenter’s Tire & Auto.

Carpenter's is family owned and run. It is a down home grass roots salt of the earth kind of place you can take your vehicles to and know that you will be well taken care of. We continue going back not just because of the solid work they do but quite honestly because of the integrity of the owners and their team.
