I want to leave a fair review about this place, however, what they charged me for a starter on a Honda Element was double then what I was quoted by another shop. The only problem was, the car needed to be repaired immediately as my mother is handicap and she had doctors appointments the following day, but over $1072.00 for a starter? I asked him what the hourly rate for labor was and he says they only charge by the job. Also on their website, it says they do all these extras for you which I did not get in my service including a simple car wash. Wasnât asking them to detail the car, but it wouldâve been nice if they wouldâve at least wash the outside of the car before I picked it up and for what I spent, I will not be returning back to their shop. Allen is not exactly The best at customer service and they wrote a long list of things that my car needed and I do maintenance on my car regularly. If I had them work on everything it would have been over 2200.00 for the starter and the oil pan replacement, no thanks! I will say this, great mechanics but over priced.

I brought my 2017 BMW 430i into their repair shop on 3/17/2025 for a "refill Low coolant warning light" They refilled the coolant and the light was cleared. Two days later the light returned. I took it back to the shop 3/20/2025. They told me they would have to run pressure test to determine if there was a leak. They completed the test and told me they had found the problem (Water pump and Turbo Coolant return line needed replacing. I authorized the repairs and paid $1,793.08. 3/22/2025. Two weeks later the same "refill Low coolant warning light" comes back on. I drive back to the repair shop 4/7/2025 and tell them they can take as long as they need but I need the issue resolved. I call 4 days later and they seemed to forget the car was there. They finally call me back and report that the total repairs would be $7,464.65 total. I go to the shop and review each line item. They then revise the necessary repairs to address the problem at $3,052.50. I clarify with them if they're guaranteeing that this is the fix. They say yes, so I authorize the repairs. They call me on 4/14/2025 that the car is done. The next day 4/15/2025 I get in my car to head to work and as I enter the freeway (55fwy north Southern California) My car lost power and a warning light reading "Drivetrain malfunction" comes on. I nearly crashed on the freeway and barley made it to the shoulder of the freeway. I was able to slowly get to an off ramp and into a parking lot. The BMW then lost all power and had to be towed back to this repair shop. I have filed a complaint with the FTC for fraud and have requested them to look into this establishment. This has been a complete scam for the repairs done to my car. I'm nearly $5,000 dollars out of pocket with no peace of mind. Lastly â if you have a BMW I STRONGLY advise to steer clear of Champman Auto Repair. I have never had a successful repair done here.

Kennyard the sales advisor. Gave me a great estimate of repair I was shopping so I was calling around and he was the best on Google as well and now I know why theyâre very good at what theyâre doing. They do good work and theyâre very fair Price excellent service fast repairs canât tell you how happy I am with them. My air conditioner works better than ever than when I bought it brand new unbelievable would recommend anybody to do the repair to their vehicle here at Chapman Auto Repair of Orange. Great staff.

They wanted to charge me $159 to give me an estimate cost. I showed the person working there (male, white, trimmed brown / red beard) where the problem was with the gear shift. The panels were previously removed by AAA who showed me that I needed a small part installed to hold the lever connection. When I asked for a break on the estimate fee, the worker made a comment about his mechanics getting paid by the hour and they needed to get paid.

CHAPMAN AUTO REPAIR OF ORANGE is the name to remember whenever you need any kind of work done to your car. Believe it or not, their companyâs slogan is âThank you for calling the HAPPIEST place on earth, how can we help you today?â At first I thought to myself that an Auto Repair place is like any other places and how can the company got Voted as the BEST of ORANGE for customerâs service and also Guarantee all of their repairs on PARTS and LABORS for LIFE. Is that possible? Is there such a place???? I then venture out to really find out if this place is real or are they just another advertisement scam like we all have seen, used to, and accustomed to receiving when it comes to dealing with auto repair companies. After the worst possible experience I had with Lexus of Westminster, I have decided to give Chapman Auto Repair of Orange a try. I found them online like most of us and believe me if you googled the companyâs name you will be at ease after reading all the good comments left of this company. From the first time talking to them until I left with my car LS 460 Lexus, I felt relieved for bringing my car here and to give them a try. My Lexus needs a new starter and Lexus of Westminster quoted me the price of little over $2,200.00 to fix including the Diagnosis fees of $189.00 just to find out what the actual problem. It took them 4 days later from the day of leaving my car to receiving a call back from them informing me my starter is the problem. After the consultant Lance quoted me of the price $2,200 to fix the starter I confirmed with him once again about the warranty for their work and I was told of 12 months warranty on parts and labor and this is for replacing a âRE-MANUFACTURERâ starter, not a brand new one. I guess after 12 months and if the starter decided not to work again I will be out of another $2,200 for another starter. With Chapman Auto Repair of Orange, the business is owned by John Pascal. It is a family owned business and almost everyone who lives in Orange County knows who they are not because they are a big operator in the Auto Repairs space but most people know them through referral of friends, coworkers, or family members. Donât be fooled by taking your vehicle to the dealers as I thought my car will be safe with them when I pay higher prices. This misconception is so wrong especially with Lexus of Westminster where their quoted prices of $2,200 to replace a starter, I got the exact same service from Chapman Auto Repair of Orange for $1,326.00 with LIFETIME WARRANTY ON PARTS & LABORS. Yes, you heard that right, my starter is warrantied for life on parts and labors so I never have to replace another starter again. Johnâs company also paid to have my car detailed all of inside, washed on the outside plus as complimentary he gave me a free oil change just to give them a try. Now I am hook with their services and if I have to add up all of their combined services the cost of replacing my starter with them will be around $1,200.00 not counting the LIFETIME WARRANTY ON PARTS AND LABOR. In many cases you have to pay extra for this type of insurance but with Johnâs company he told me that he uses great quality parts therefore he doesnât mind giving lifetime warranty for the peace of mind to all of his customers. What really melt my heart and felt warm about John and his staffs (Wesley, Joseph Robles, and Alan) is while I was there waiting for my car to be worked on, a homeless person walked in and was extremely apologetic by asking John if he could use the bathroom and not only John graciously agreed but also ask that the homeless person take with him some popcorn and a bottle of water with him after. John did it with a smile instead of pushing him away. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank John Pascal (the owner), Joseph and Alan who helped signed me in, and Wesley who drove me to get a car rental while my car was worked on. Iâve been a loyal customer at this shop for over two years and have brought my car in for regular oil changes and two major repairs. Until recently, I felt confident in their work and service. However, during my most recent visit, I was extremely disappointed. I had my mother drop off my car for me, and Kennyard â who has helped me in the past âinsisted to her that the $120 diagnostic fee was a non-negotiable despite to hefty price-tag for the repair. Historically, that fee was either waived or applied toward the final bill when the work was done, which in this case it was not. The repair ended up costing over $1,300, and was completed in a timely manner which was very much appreciated. Thereâs no doubt they do excellent work, but the principle of the matter is I have never had to pay a diagnostic fee when completing the service recommended at any auto shop. Because of this I no longer feel comfortable bringing my car here and wonât be returning. I hope others take this into consideration when they are considering where to complete their auto repairs on their vehicle.

This place is a joke. Let me be clear, the mechanic who fixed the issue I would recommend, the service manager Alan is the joke. Lets put this to a vote. If the flat rate to diagnose a car is $120. That is what should be expected in the final bill? Nope, Alan jacked the "flat" rate to $240.00 because they kept the car 2 days. Not once was the flat rate mention as "per day", and not once was I notified the flat rate was increased. They did diagnose my cars issue but they over charged me for the repairs. Also a my 1 year old battery decided to die while in their possession. I purchased a replacement battery and they installed it which was a big mistake. The hack who installed the battery broke the positive cover, and destroyed the battery insulator pad around the battery. They provided replacement parts but I would not let them install them in fear they would damage something else. I won't be returning to them in the future

They charged $160 just for diagnostic and it doesnât even go words cost of repair got my truck back in worst shape and it was when I brought it now I canât pull it out of my driveway. Weâll have to have it towed, but not to this establishment. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Car broke down this morning AAA told me not to drive on freeway take it to my mechanic. I called Chapman been a good loyal customer pay off my bill after service. The guy on phone said to bring it in so I did and there was the biggest jerk wad sitting at the desk zero customer service skills I think the older co-worker sitting next to him felt how upset I was with the manner I was spoken to. I will not bring my car back there please stop texting us about how the 2010 escape is running.

My dad recommended me to Chapman Auto Repair of Orange, and Iâm really glad. Itâs a local shop for us, and from the moment I walked in, the staff was nothing but friendly, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeableâboth in the office and in the repair bay. I brought in my Mercedes to get it smog-checked and to have them take a look at the A/C system. Even though my car is fairly new, Iâd been hearing a weird noise and sometimes getting an unpleasant smell from the vents. I love working on cars myself, but realistically, I knew this wasnât something I could fix on my own. The team at Chapman took their time to diagnose everything properly, explain what was going on, and make sure my car was taken care of the right way. They handled everything quickly and thoroughlyâfixing a suspension noise, completing a battery and charging system check, and repairing a leaking coolant hose that another shop totally missed.
