Three strikes and you're out in my book. I had a little right front damage done in an accident. Right corner of hood bent down, fender needed to be body worked and a bumper cover replaced. Everyone was very pleasant and the process was efficient. I was notified when the vehicle was done. I went to pick it up and from 10' I instantly noticed something very minor but very obvious. The hood seal was on backwards and not only did it not sit flush it is cut in a way where it protrudes a good 3/8" at the corners. I just chalked that up to letting an apprentice throw it back together (Who really wants to do reassembly?), no biggie and I was just going to take it home and fix it myself.. Then I saw a bumper to body panel alignment issue at the right fender to bumper cover at the corner. The panel wasn't even close but again, things happen and it was just a minor alignment issue.. At that point I advised the person who brought the car out I'd like to leave it to have those things resolved. There was no argument and he was apologetic. I know these things happen, although a final inspection should have caught both of these things. I hadn't returned my rental yet so it was only time lost. To be clear, the quality of the paint and body work done to fender/hood were perfect, no complaints at all. I was advised on Monday that the cover had been adjusted and seal reversed. I arrive and yep, perfect! I then take the rental back and head home. Later on I popped the hood just to look over everything a bit more. That is when I saw strike 3. When they had to body work the corner of the hood they had to fold it back up. In doing so they did some minor paint damage to both the pinch weld area and the surrounding area. And more than likely during impact the one piece chipped off. They had to know there would be some damage done here and given bare metal was left exposed (partially during the repair) this was going to be a corrosion issue in Illinois. I have no doubt this would have been fixed and done properly had I bought it back again but I certainly didn't have time to get another rental and head back there. This was strike 3 to me and is what is prompting this review. Given the quality of the work I see I know they do good work but this lack of attention to detail on 3 different occasions prompted this review. I did go back and forth on not saying anything but none of these 3 items were easy to miss and given I've done my fair share of body work there is no doubt in my mind they know when they folded that hood back up while body working they were going to have to inspect the underside right there as well as the paint would more than likely be damaged when it was folder under originally and then hammered back during the repair. I have attached a pic of the paint damage left untouched and bare metal exposed post repair. I would not say this is a bad body shop, I would just say they weren't paying attention to detail during the period they performed my repaia. Based on other reviews this may be an anomaly but make sure to inspect the repair thoroughly before leaving. A car cannot leave a shop like this IMO.

Don’t get the reviews fool you they put used parts on your car do bare minimum and charge for new parts. I had work done in May they are already issues with their work they did leaking radiator and water in the headlight.

I brought my SUV to Crash Champions in McHenry and the turnaround time was amazing. This was the first time I had to bring a car in to get repaired and they explained everything thoroughly and got me in right away. I never leave reviews but this team deserves one (especially Joe & the front desk secretary). I was in an accident back in October & everywhere I brought my car was told it'd take 3-4 weeks to fix. I was referred to this location from State Road Auto & though it was about an hour from my house... I'm SO glad I took the advice & came here. From the time I brought my car in for inspection to getting the parts to getting it fixed.. they were AWESOME. Joe called me at every step to keep me updated, helped me navigate getting my rental & got everything done in ONE WEEK! My car looks great & what I thought would be a headache of a process turned out to be surprisingly enjoyable. Highly recommend

Used this location before under old mgmt (adams), and most people here now at Crash Champions are still working there. this is the ONLY place we will ever go for car repairs. Joe and entire team repaired a side door Dent so we'll you can't even tell. with our special factory color changing metallic green paint we were really worried, but it's as good as new! Car was sent here through insurance. I have always had horrible experience dealing with body shops/insurance. But crash champions mchenry has done an amazing job with the repairs, customer service, and providing me with detailed instructions on what is happening with my vehicle. The person that took care of me from day one to the day of my pick up was Daniel. Took amazing care of me and my car, keeping me posted with constant updates and letting me know every single thing that was going on with my car. Daniel provided me with exceptional customer service as well as the shop staff for the repairs. Greatly appreciate the positive experience. It was unfortunate that I had to find out about this shop through insurance, but I will definitely be returning whenever a repair is needed for any of my other cars. Highly recommend!

They were very friendly, but after the repair, which was a cracked front bumper they had scratched off paint on the car and tried to tell me that we didnt remember it was like that before. After looking at pictures from before the repair he said, " oh yes it did have paint," then wanted US to do the touch up. My insurnace company recommended this place, and I will be calling them to say dont anymore.

Unfortunately I was in involved in two car accidents in a year, and the first time I took my vehicle to crash champions in Mundeline and I found out they had a second one that was closer to me in McHenry. Since they did a phenomenal job on my vehicle the first time I went back to him for a second time and from start to finish this company is very thorough when there’s things happening just to keep you in the loop. I got many calls just to explain things to me which in my case is what I’m looking for when the repairing a vehicle and everybody went over and beyond on the service and the finishing product came out. I can’t say it almost perfect, but it did.

My car was vandalized and needed rear window replaced. Quote was for $370, actual bill was $429 because of a 1 hour charge ($65) to vacuum glass out of my car. That charge was never approved by me. I can vacuum my car for 0 dollars. Not happy with this place and will not be back. Was also yelled at because I took the plastic and tape off the broken window... Dern, they could have charged me another $65 for that.
