Taken my care in multiple times because boston sucks but this place doesn’t! As a women, it’s hard to find an auto place that doesn’t screw you over or up charge you and everyone working here gave me fair price, was super quick and efficient, and explained everything throughly. I wasn’t oversold anything and didn’t have any random charges. You get what you pay for in the best way possible and they actually care about you!

Cannot say enough about this business! Over the weekend I was heading up to Boston from providence over an hour away from home when my car started stalling. It was nearly closing time but Herbie told me to bring my car in and immediately knew what was wrong. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable, he put me at ease with the situation and was very personable and friendly. Took great care of me for the most reasonable price imaginable, if I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! Best experience I have ever had at a mechanic shop, would make the drive just to come to this business in the future!

I came in to get my brakes changed and my muffler reinstalled. Herbie and his team were so kind, accommodating and efficient. Some of the best service I’ve received in I don’t know how long! Spent 598.81 yesterday on my brakes because it felt like my brakes were to the floor and to stop it was delayed and I had to literally push my pedal to the floor , why I spent tha amount of money just for me to get my car and it still fell the same !! The showed me the hose was broken an my rear bad and router was gone but the fixed it and my brakes Still feel th exact same ! Someone said they didn’t bleed my brakes ? Idk but I really need help ! Please someone help ? I just don’t wanna get in an accident !

Worse place ever …. Don’t let Herby fool you . Herby is a miserable person and unfortunately does not respect people as a person with morals do. They will also over charge you with poor quality work to back the shop up. People go somewhere else where you will be respected and not ripped off by Herby.

Herbie is literally a life saver! I brought in my 2012 chevy not knowing what was wrong with it nor where to start, he eased my mind, I instant knew I was in good hands and his turn around time was amazing. His communication was amazing, he called me and kept me updated with every step & made sure he had my approval before moving forward & explained everything to me in a way that I’d understand because unfortunately I’m just a girl but I didn’t feel taken advantage of at all. Me seeing all these high stars make me feel they just targeted me. I debated for months about writing a review since i took my car in sept/oct (2007 benz) but my car keeps getting worse. Took my car for an ABS issue and check engine light $100 to diagnose fine. I must say they did fix it or so i thought. Drove well first day, then engine light came back on, a week later I took it back. $100 to diagnose took about 2 days to figure out (again or so i thought) said it needed a part that isnt made anymore so they "made a part" for it. Take it home car is driving weird thinking its my breaks and day later check engine light comes back on, he says bring it in you still have warranty on it for same issue that is not fixed. oh wait $100 diagnostic fee. keeps my car 2 days or so, he says it needs breaks $1000. I've had breaks fixed on my car for less then 1000. so far I've paid them about 2000 and nothing is fixed correctly lights are still coming on. I said no i will come get my car. when i get there, he says its not the breaks its something to do with the break fluid and they will fix it for 300 and change minus the diagnostic fee $100. I go turn on my heat. NOT WORKING. My car has never had problems starting especially in FREEZING weather. Car has issues starting now. I'd rather my car sit in my drive way till i can take it to the dealer as old as it is. 2500 and my car not working. I REFUSE to take it back there. If you don't know how to fix it just say you don't know. ps. check engine light still on

I want to give a huge shout-out to D and L Auto Shop in Dorchester. About two weeks ago, I unfortunately hit a piece of metal that fell off a truck on the road. This car means a lot to me, so I was really upset when it happened. I honestly didn’t have high expectations - I thought my front bumper would just be replaced just to look okay. But D and L Auto Shop completely exceeded my expectations. The front bumper was restored beautifully, like nothing ever happened. The paint work is smooth and perfectly matched. On top of that, they detailed and polished the exterior, making the car look bright and refreshed. What impressed me even more was the interior detailing. The inside of the car was cleaned thoroughly, smelled amazing, and there were many small, thoughtful details that I didn’t expect at all. I’m truly impressed by their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism. If you’re looking for body work, repairs, or detailing, I highly recommend D and L Auto Shop. After inspecting the work performed by this shop, I found multiple serious and unacceptable issues that raise major concerns about their professionalism and integrity. 1. The oil drain plug was sealed with RTV/gasket maker instead of being properly repaired. This strongly suggests stripped threads or damage that was never disclosed. A drain plug should NEVER depend on sealant. This is a temporary patch that risks oil loss and catastrophic engine damage. 2. A bolt in the valve cover gasket area was also covered in the same sealant. The valve cover gasket was replaced only about 5,000 miles ago, and it is already leaking. A properly installed gasket should not fail this quickly. This raises serious concerns about the quality of the parts used and the workmanship performed. Covering bolts with sealant instead of correcting the underlying issue is not standard mechanical practice. 3. A tube connected to the intake pipe between the engine and air filter was broken and sealed with gasket maker instead of being replaced. It appears the part was damaged and patched rather than properly repaired. 4. The upper control arms were replaced by this shop. However, shortly after, my vehicle failed state inspection because the control arms were considered worn and unsafe and needed replacement again. This raises serious concerns about whether the parts were actually replaced or whether low-quality components were installed. 5. After their service, I also had to replace steering components. The vehicle was supposedly checked and serviced, yet major steering-related issues remained. 6. I paid for an alternator replacement, but there are strong reasons to question whether it was actually replaced. When a customer pays for specific repairs and later discovers leaks, broken components sealed with RTV, failed suspension parts, inspection failure, and questionable replacements, this is not a minor oversight — it indicates a pattern. I strongly do NOT recommend this shop. If you value your vehicle and your money, carefully verify all work performed here and request proof of parts replaced.

If there are more stars, I would give them more. My 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz had dents on two right doors and a big crack on front bumper. They took care of all the paperwork. A,week and 1/2 later, I got the truck back in show room condition. They cleaned and detailed my truck inside out. Great customer service and quality work. I would definitely recommend this place.
