His whole staff from front office the his part time HS misc guy seem to be focused on taking care of the customer first and foremost. What a great family business! From start to finish I felt like I was dealing with friends and family.
I own a 2011 VW CC Sport that has been dealer serviced since new and has the documentation to prove it. After recent mixed service experiences at our long time dealer we decided to explore options outside of that relationship for the first time. We received very high praise from a friend who worked as a mechanic for many years at a competing service shop; whose own shop used to take many of their cars to Dynamic when they were unable to address certain issues themselves. So happy we followed our friend’s recommendation.
When first scheduling my appointment by phone I had the good fortune to speak with Annie, who listened carefully to my concerns and reasons for searching for another service shop relationship. She answered my questions in a professional, courteous, and timely manner and did a great job of managing my expectations when she needed to get back to me, which she did precisely when she said she would. I’m still waiting on answers to my questions from my dealer for nearly a week now: does it really take that long to quote a brake job?!
After my initial services were completed (oil change and taillight bulb replacement) I had the opportunity to meet with Elliot, who reviewed my service ticket with me and suggested a couple other services he thought I would benefit from. After discussing those options in a very low pressure, low key, friendly manner I decided that one of those options would be of tremendous benefit to me - getting my timing chain inspected: my dealer doesn’t offer this service.
With all of my other cars (Acura, Honda, Toyota and Chevrolet) I have always changed the timing belt/chain at around 100k miles as recommended by the OEM’s. When I’ve asked my local dealer about this during my last two oil changes if I should be getting ready to do this since my car now has 108k miles on the odometer, they keep telling me it is not necessary - that no maintenance is ever required. Really? Thanks to Dynamic’s inspection I can now see that I am very close to needing to replace my timing chain and tensioner.
While I am aware that I am getting very close to needling a complete brake job it is very helpful to know that I do, in fact, also need to be planning on a new timing chain as well. Given that I would benefit the most if I planned on doing this before winter I have something to seriously think about: do I make an investment on these necessary repairs for a car that would likely easily last another 50-100k miles or do I sell the car and add that money to the money I would have used for the maintenance and buy a new car. Not as easy a decision as you might think because my car is in like new condition and has a lot of life left in it.
One thing is for certain, if I do decide to invest the money into this car I plan on giving my business to Dynamic and not the dealership where we have a service history going back more than 10 years. I think that tells you everything you need to know about the experience you can expect to have should you choose to go to Dynamic for your automobile service needs.
