BEWARE! Bad experience. They charged us for repairs we didn't request. They tried to convince us to let them keep the car if they wiped the bill. The invoice was handwritten and was not clear about the charges. They still never got our car working after charging us a large bill.

We were traveling back to Chicago on a Sunday and had a problem with our brakes. EC Family Auto was open and answered the phone on a Sunday. The car needed a bolt they did not have to fix our problem, and the owner drove around town to several stores before finding one that would work. The car was fixed and we were on our way in a few hours. We would have had to get a hotel and wait for a Hyundai dealer to source the bolt next business day had they not gone the extra mile to fix it. Great service!

STAY AWAY!! I would not recommend this company for auto repairs!! On our way to the Dells from MN, our van broke down and our roadside service contacted Eau Claire Family Auto for the tow & diagnosis. The tow went fine, but the diagnosis process did not. $475 and a week later it was in no better running condition than when it was towed in. We had to tow the van back to MN ourselves. I would definitely NOT recommend this company for Auto service!

I am fairly pleased with the interaction I had with this family run Automotive Shop. Big Jay went straight to work diagnosing my vehicle and finding a solution and offered services I didn't even know were available. I gladly took advantage of those as they were a fair price. In no time my vehicle was back up and running. Will definitely be coming back if something goes wrong with my vehicle or if I need a tow :)

Wow! What a great family owned business! The guy doing the repairs went by the name Jason. He was a remarkable funny gentleman and he was able to make my children laugh. My children are normally fairly stoic characters. Anita seemed to be the boss of the operation. She was very delightful and gave us cupcakes as it was her daughters birthday. My children ate the cake part of the cupcake and I ate the frosting as we were trying to keep the kid's sugar down since we were planning to attend a parade later that day. They made us feel like we were genuinely part of their family. We look forward to seeing them again next time our Ford breaks down. Thank you Jason and team, you made our day!

When we had a massively punctured tire at night, when other options were closed, Eau Claire Family Automotive was able to find a suitable replacement quickly and squeeze us in, saving us from a night in a hotel. Everyone working was extremely nice and helpful. They ensured that we could continue safely on our trip. The prices were also very reasonable. don't bother. these guys will screw you. it doesn't say family Automotive because they're aimed at helping a family this is family Automotive because it is a family working there. that aside these guys claim to do everything including the tow but what they really do is they tow your car and they give you an unrealistic shot at redeeming yourself then they'll strike up a deal and buy your car for scrap and wave the fees that they incurred. for those of you that are still a bit lost this is called a racket. they claim to do everything but when they received my vehicle which just needed a fuel pump they told me that it's going to need thousands of dollars of repairs and they can't do it because... and get this... they can't do it because they're too busy fixing other cars. choosing between a rock and a hard place I was forced to scrap my car for a measly $100 [and it has give cats] because I couldn't afford to pay them for the tow. however I had brought my car there with a grant from a business in Chippewa falls that agreed to pay for parts and labor no matter what it cost. I tried to get family Automotive to repair my vehicle no matter what the cost and yet again they said they couldn't do it because they'd have to get the service done somewhere else. sounds like a scam because it's a scam. now keep in mind I'm homeless and that's why I had the Grant from this business in Chippewa to repair my vehicle I chose family Automotive because they had competitive prices which did me no good in the end except I lost the place where I was staying which is my car for $100 when all it needed was a fuel pump. this is not a auto repair shop, this is a tow service and scrap yard. don't waste your time!

Just had Anita and Jason come over to jump start my battery. They were wonderful! Jason cleaned connections & tried to use the battery pack but my battery was too far gone. So they went all the way back to get longer jumper cables and those did the trick! They stayed to make sure I could restart my Outback and all was well. I recommend Eau Claire Family to anyone that needs help with their car or truck.

I had called Affordable automotive in Eau Claire concerning my gear shift, I could not get my car out of park. They told me my transmission might be blown, that they were booked, and that they knew someone who could pick it up for $250 to scrap it. I then called this company, Family Automotive, and they offered to come to my location and asses the car, they were able to manually shift my car into drive, had me follow them to the shop, bought parts and fixed my car so I could get home that night. They were more than helpful, I would recommend this company to anyone I know. Eau Claire Family Automotive saved me from accidentally scrapping my vehicle! Always get a second opinion!

My Volkswagen Jetta got a flat randomly. Called to see if they might possibly have a tire that I could purchase to replace the junk one. They answered right away and even said they could mount and balance it same day for me :) I couldn’t recommend them more!
