Came here for oil change and consulted with David about an issue I’ve been having with my car. I’ve brought my car to Acura dealership in SF almost 4 times about the same issue. I knew there was something wrong with it but they told me that there was nothing wrong and they “tested” it many times and found no issue with it. Brought it in to Faxon Garage because my husband had a great experience working with them. They found the issue and with my vehicle on their first inspection. It made me feel so much better knowing I was right and they validated what I already knew. I also appreciate the thorough inspection and recommended services. Very thoughtful and fair pricing. Lastly, they report to CARFAX!

I stopped here to ask about changing the front light bulbs. Another place estimated $135, and a different one quoted $150 for both sides. One of the workers here checked the light bulbs and found the connection was simply loose, so he tightened it for free. I believe that’s why this place has such a great reputation. ✨

I originally was going there for a regular maintenance and wheel alignment but later found out had many issues with my car. The service tech, Mark, was really informative about the problems they found and details about the costs and work that had to be done. I know most people will say it’s a gimmick to make the customer spend more, but my car had over 90k miles and I never had anyone do a detail checkup. It has been over two weeks and definitely feel the car drives better and smoother. 10/10 would go back for any future services.

They were nice enough to let me use the restroom while I waited for a family member's car to get towed from their shop. The bathroom was clean, I I never expect much from auto shops as far as bathrooms go. My family member got a diagnostic done on the car, felt they were a little overpriced for the repairs needed, the shop is on a busy street so no parking really. A lot of people were bringing their cars to the establishment so I can assume that they do good service, and they had good music playing.

Update: since my last review we have been to the garage a couple times. They have always been amazing. We will continue to use this garage whenever needed. This is the garage that my wife has used for her vehicles for years. I however have only used it one time. I brought the car in for a leak from an unknown location. They diagnosed the problem quickly. It turned out to be coming from the transmission. They referred me out to another location. They were quick. They were honest. They only charged for diagnostics. They gave a referral to a great place My wife swears by them and now so do I.

Good work, reasonable prices, but they left a scratch on my door handle. I went to get a full synthetic oil change on my 2016 BMW 340i. Last second, I asked for a brake fluid flush as well, and luckily they were able to accommodate me. I was asked to pick up the car very late ~15 minutes before closing, but I think that's reasonable due to my last-second request for an additional service. Unfortunately, the technician who had grabbed my car in the morning had opened my door into the wooden utility pole next to the parking. Luckily I don't drive a show car, but I would have been very unhappy if I had been driving a brand new vehicle and this had happened. Someone did clean the scratch up with some grime remover after this picture was taken and while it is still scratched, it is barely noticeable now

I went to Faxon Garage and felt very uncomfortable with my experience. They did a diagnostic that cost $195, but I was never told this price beforehand or asked for verbal consent. They just handed me a folded paper, and since I was in a rush, I didn’t notice the fee. I didn’t sign anything either. I accept part of the responsibility for not reading carefully, but I also believe shops should be upfront and transparent with their customers. I even asked if they could offer a discount since the fee was never confirmed verbally, and I acknowledged my part in the misunderstanding but they still said no. Unfortunately, it felt like they took advantage of my lack of car knowledge, and as a woman who knows very little about cars, that left me with a terrible impression. Many places even offer diagnostics for free, so this was very disappointing.

Brought my father in-laws Highlander in several months ago and had the water pump and thermo stat replaced. Fast forward 6 months. The oil change place they’ve been going to says they need a new water pump. Brought the vehicle in. They pressure tested it, complete road test, visual inspection, everything to investigate if that was the issue. Turns out coolant may have just been a little low. I appreciate the effort that was made to see what was wrong and the time that was taken to explain what they did to inspect. Definitely taking more vehicles here in the future when service is needed.

This place is incredible. My Audi was giving me all sorts of problems. I was not able to pass smog due to engine issues and I had an intermittent problem w oil pressure too low for months. I had taken my car to Audi service twice, once for the intermittent problem, which never went away after they fixed it, and another time for diagnoses of engine issues to pass smog. Audi was expensive and unsure about what the real issue is, so I decided to ask around, and found Faxon — they were highly recommended by a friend, and yes! They figured out what was wrong w my car pretty quickly — I was able to pass smog and the intermittent issue has not come back either. Reasonable prices, great team, super responsive, and customer-first. I LOVE them and can’t recommend them enough.

I’ve been getting my oil changed at Faxon for two years and recently had to replace the control arms and suspension, as well as get four new tires installed. Mark and the Faxon team worked with me every step of the way to explain the repairs and the cost, so I felt comfortable that they were necessary and I knew what I was paying for. I then drove the car 3000 miles across the country pulling a trailer and it rode so smoothly that it felt like new. I highly recommend Faxon’s services if you’re looking for a reliable mechanic.
