This is for the shop in Hayward. Owner seems to talk out the other end that's not his mouth a lot. Takes forever to work on my Prius. You've lost a customer and will never recommend this business to anyone.

I had my 2011 Prius fixed by Jack in Hayward. I rarely write reviews but this guy deserves one for sure. If you have a Prius with a head gasket issue there should be no reason to shop around. My car was a special case. Jack told me that the symptoms my car had were commiserate with a totally blown engine. One of my rods was bent, from a straight line from 6-12 to angled to about 12-8 with a twist. Jack figured it all out!!! Great dude, honest and hard working. Can’t say enough good things. At about 123,000 miles, our 2014 Prius started to shudder and mis-fire on startup which then went away after engine got hot. Classic case of the head gasket leaking fluid into one or more cylinders. (When the engine gets hot, it heats the gasket and seals it again.) I spoke with Jack a couple of times by telephone before taking it in to him - he was friendly and helpful. When I took it in, he did the work promptly and held to the fair price he quoted me at the outset. He also advised that, fortunately, there was no damage to the piston rod. (Coolant doesn't compress like fuel....) This car doesn't get a lot of mileage, but I've had no problem since. Happy to have the work done, happy to have it done by them.

I absolutely recommend Gasket Masters. My 2024 Toyota Prius started shaking upon starting last week. I took it to the Toyota dealership and unfortunately it was a blown head gasket. These are extremely expensive repairs as they have to completely remove the entire engine to replace it. Toyota quoted me more than 5K for the repair. I called several other local places and they weren't much cheaper. Offering to provide more services for the same price, but still around 5K. Thankfully I came upon "Gasket Masters" in Hayward. Jack runs this place himself. He is extremely knowledgeable and told me exactly what was going on and quoted me a very reasonable price (less than half what Toyota wanted to charge). He also said he could get it done in around 24 hours. Much faster than some other places that said it could be up to a week. I'm so glad to have my car back and fixed. If you have a head gasket issue, take it here. He has a 1 year warranty on any repairs he does. It's 5 stars from me!

Jacks a standup guy who knows how to fix up a Prius. I had a blown head gasket that he took care of and it’s been running smooth.
