Took my car in thinking I would get estimate then repairs. Nope. Was told they can’t get me in until February. What a complete waste of my time. Would have been nice if they would have mentioned that when I scheduled my appt. and front staff was unfriendly

I am very frustrated with the Elkhart, IN office, and regret choosing this business to repair my automobile. The following are my concerns: 1. On October 6, 2020, I took my car to the Elkhart location for an estimate to repair my vehicles after a collision. When I got home I reviewed the estimate and it did not include the damage to the tires and rims. I called and spoke with the staff regarding this matter. At that time I was told that he saw the front tire damage, and did not see the back but he will note it. I dropped my Subaru Legacy off for repairs on October 19th. He did not mark either tire on the drawing, to which I reminded the employee of the tire and rims. He explained that they draw red and green on the car and he will get that. On October 20, 2020, I spoke with the Fort Wayne location and was informed they were not informed by the Elkhart location of the damage to the tires or rims. 2. On October 16, 2020, when I dropped my car off I asked for an estimate as to when I should expect my car. They told me they did not know and the Fort Wayne location will let me know. I did not receive an update from the Fort Wayne location until October 20th. I was told I will not get my car back until November 2. I WOULD NOT HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH GERBER COLLISION IF I KNEW THEY WERE KEEPING MY CAR 18 DAYS. 3. On October 20 when I spoke with the Fort Wayne office I was informed that the parts for my car were just ordered and they do not expect to receive them until around Thursday, October 22nd. I asked why I could not have kept my car (it is still drivable) until they attained the parts. The man said he did not know the answer to this and will follow-up with me. 4. I called the Elkhart office on October 20th, and asked to speak with a manager and was told I need to speak with Fort Wayne. I repeated three times throughout the conversation that I would like to speak to a manager. I was told the manager was out for the day. I asked to be called tomorrow (October 21). The Elkhart manager never called me. The Fort Wayne staff handled my car and all communication with me after I called the Elkhart-manger (who did not return my call); and Fort Wayne’s did a great job.

Called 5 times to get my windshield replaced in my Winnebago and emailed all pictures and information. Never received one call back after being passed around between people. Even their manager never returned my call. It’s amazing people can run a business like this and keep the doors open. I’d give them a negative rating if possible.

Great job I want to retract my first review. I had just received a text from their automated service which gave me opposite/contrary information to what I got from Michael. Michael had told me that my car would/should be ready in a week. The text messaging said two weeks! That was a big difference when also paying for a car rental. I picked up my car today which was the week as promised. My car was clean and looking like new. Thanks!!!

My Allstate Insurance agent recommended this place. I called and was told I would get a return phone from the main person who does the scheduling, which I never received, so I called again. This time I got transferred to Sabrina who gave me her e-mail and ask me to fax the estimate so she could look at it and figure out when she could fit me in the schedule. I emailed her the estimate with the email she provided and it did go through and I never received any phone call back from them. I guess they didn't want my business. Glad I figured this out before they got my car.

After multiple attempts to contact them about getting my truck in for their estimate and to get my truck fixed, I have not received one single call back. My insurance recommended them and they are not helping at all. Left my phone number clearly multiple time and even my email and attempted to get their email with no success. Will not be taking my truck here at all. Poor service.

I will say that my original experience was poor, which is why I am giving 4 stars- I think there was a change in management from the time my vehicle got dropped to the time it actually got fixed. I will say that Adam made sure to rectify my situation and went out of his way to make my experience better. I appreciate the effort and appreciate them willing to go out of their way to make the situation better.

Insurance company sent me here after I was rear-ended in late 2024. They took care of the bumper damage covered by insurance... but the work they did for me out of pocket lasted 3 weeks before it fell apart again and they have not been responsive at all about fixing it, making it right or providing reimbursement. Not even sure where to begin! My daughter took her car in on June 10, 2024 after hitting a deer. It was just one misrepresention (lie) after another after that. Insurance company sent her an email stating the car was totaled, she went to get her things from it, but Gerber had gotten an email saying the car was repairable. Luckily she did remove her things from the car. She was given a July 26 pick up date. That came and went, still no car. Each week she was given a new date. Told the technician working on it was fired but a new one was assigned, then told more damage was found and they were waiting on insurance approval. Her dad finally went to Gerber this week to check on the situation. Nothing more had been done to the car since my daughter had gone in the first week of June to remove some belongs. Insurance (Liberty Mutual) finally did decide to total the car. My daughter then called Gerber to tell them she was coming to get her plate and an emblem off it. She was told they would remove both for her, however when she got there, the car had been towed along with both those things. Meantime she is paying rental for a vehicle to get to work when she could have just bought a replacement car. Hopefully she won't need a body shop in the future but if she does sure won't be this place!

The collision was in November. My evaluation was scheduled for the first Friday of December. After two weeks, I began calling almost daily. After three, I sent an email. After four, I finally went in and demanded to know where the evaluation was. They said they lost the pictures and needed to redo it. I should have gone to another shop, but in order to get the evaluation done, I let Gerber hand the repair. I was promised 24 hours of labor, and expected a week. It took six. Calls were still ineffective. I stopped by after two weeks to ask what was up. They told me my car wasn't in the shop at that point. I went in a second time at the four-week mark, and they told me my car was in progress. The manager finally called me in the fifth week to update me. When I finally got my car back, the windshield wipers were disconnected and my jar of change had been stolen. I emailed the location, and they never responded. I can't make up how abysmal the service was.

They were awesome! Went in just to get an estimate. Said that buffing would help us get a better idea of what needed to be done and thought that buffing was all it needed. Was able to buff everything out and didn’t charge me. Even offered to wash my car for me! Would for sure recommend. I was in and out in probably 15 minutes.

Currently have an f150 that was in an accident in there right now, and front desk that you call has told me different things for weeks now, really starting to become a problem, treating me like I’m the problem. Truck had 1 days worth is assembly at the start of 2 weeks ago, so 10 full work days to get 1 days worth of work done? Terrible experience so far and have caught the front desk lying about how much is done multiple times when coordinating with the mangers. Don’t bring your vehicle here unless you want to get different information about your vehicle for weeks longer than it’s supposed to be there.

Absolute hot garbage of a business. They took my vehicle in, gave an estimate, and gave a completion date of over 3 months. Called upon the “completion date”, said they NEVER started and did not know where my vehicle was at lol. Upon finding it, they sent it to Fort Wayne from Elkhart because they were “overbooked”. Seems like since you have had my car for over 3 months you would give it some priority at that time, but nope too busy. Fort Wayne shop estimates again when they receive the vehicle, and the price is wildly different. Thousands of dollars more, which caused an issue with the insurance. My vehicle is still not fixed, I could have built an entire LEGO vehicle by now in my free time. Choose anywhere else, this place is apparently the equivalent of a parking lot.

I would like to give a shoutout to Tori W and her crew at Gerber Collision in Elkhart. After losing the front end of my Ford F150 to a high speed deer collision on I-80, I had it towed to Gerber's and left it in Tori's hands and drove a rental back home to New York. Tori and her crew, immediately set to work on tearing down the truck, sourcing parts and restoring it to "better than new" condition. During the entire process, she kept me informed about progress and readily answered all my questions. She gave me a hard date when it would be ready as I had to make travel arrangements to get back to Elkhart to pick it up. The completion date came as promised. On arrival, I was totally amazed at the job they did on my truck!! Perfect condition, top notch workmanship. I drove back home to New York as if nothing had ever happened to the truck. Definite 5 start service!! Many thanks to Tori and her crew for a job well done and taking care of me! True professionals!!
