ANOTHER AMAZING AND WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE w/German Sport! While Sergio and his team are always thorough and totally professional—this time, they went above and beyond to help this damsel in distress. My car was having on again/off again starter issues and after a full diagnostic assessment they were able to pinpoint the problem, fix it and had me back on the road the very next day. I’ve been using German Sport as my (only) mechanic shop, for my BMW 2007 335I for the past 6 Years. I Had to bring my car in 4 times now, for various reasons. Customer service and professionalism, is top of the line. Every issue that I ever had they were able to diagnose and make the repairs needed in a timely fashion. The mechanics will always send you pictures of what going on underneath or inside of your vehicle, so you don’t have to second-guess what’s going on. Then you have the option to accept or decline the repairs that are needed. They have their own parking lot, so you don’t have to worry about your car being damaged by someone else and they can even store most cars indoors at night……. All work comes with a very decent warranty. They even replace an axle on my wife’s Toyota Highlander a few years back.

If you own a Volkswagen and you’re anywhere within a 2-hour radius of Walnut Creek, do yourself a favor and skip the VW “stealerships.” Make the trip to German Sports — you will NOT regret it. As a woman with a VW, I’ve unfortunately dealt with my fair share of shady service experiences. I was ripped off by VW dealerships in Merced (where I lived) and Modesto, and another mom-and-pop repair shop finally recommended I call German Sports in Walnut Creek. I ended up having my car towed all the way from Merced to Walnut Creek, passing at least five VW dealerships on the way — best decision I’ve ever made. This shop is everything a reliable, honest VW repair shop should be. They are detail-oriented, transparent, and professional from start to finish. I received itemized receipts (which the dealerships REFUSED to give me) along with actual images of the damage and repairs so I knew exactly what I was paying for. No guessing. No games. No “mystery fees.” Unlike the dealerships that held my car hostage and ghosted me for over a month, German Sports gave me realistic timelines and explained any delays clearly. Communication was excellent — Hernan kept me updated every step of the way, and I even saw the owner, Sergio, personally working on my car after hours. That tells you everything you need to know about how much pride they take in their work. They treated me with respect, honesty, and patience, and I always felt informed and safe — which sadly isn’t always the case for women at repair shops. The workmanship, pricing, and customer service here are on another level. If you’re tired of getting overcharged for incomplete work at Central Valley VW dealerships (or anywhere else) — go to German Sports. It is 100% worth the drive. This is truly the best independent Volkswagen/German auto repair shop in the Bay Area, and honestly one of the best in California. Last time I visited, they mentioned plans to expand — and I genuinely hope they do, because shops like this are rare. Maybe one day they’ll be nationwide! If you value honesty, quality, transparency, and expertise with German cars — make the trip. German Sports has earned a lifelong customer.

I first came to German Motors about a new and growing sound from the engine area that our regular mechanic could not identify. I was becoming concerned about driving it any distance and German Motors was close to hime. They were very thorough in determining the root cause and the repair. Performing a mechanical inspection under the vehicle they also identified a few maintenance items requiring attention (with photos). We have a 1997 Eurovan and are excited to find a service with both the expertise and facilities to keep it on the road. We have had good mechanics prior but the age and nature of this vehicle is requiring more than what many can offer. German Sport's customer service and attention to detail is exemplary. We are glad to have found them.
