So grateful to have such a quality and service oriented car repair service in our town. Always so accommodating and today when I went in for emergency tire service they took me even though I didn’t have an appointment. Because they had to order four tires, the owner gave me a ride home and pick up later so I didn’t have to sit for hours waiting.

Walked in with no appointment when I realized my NYS inspection was close to its renewal date. Car was in the shop within minutes, and I was on my way home in about 1/2 hour. Pleasant, friendly atmosphere. My previous experiences at Gochee's have been equally satisfactory.

I was able to get an appointment within 48 hours. As always the service was very professional and on time. Since a bought a second-hand car through them in 2012, all service has been done at Gochee's. The car is in excellent condition, thanks to this Garage.

Can’t say much about their work, but I can say this if your tow company bringing them a vehicle, make sure you’re ready to be dictated where the vehicles dropped and they don’t care if it’s easy for you or not I recommend not going to this garage with any vehicles!!! The service, writer was very rude. As soon as I pulled up he came running out, screaming at me. I had the vehicle and a safe location, out-of-the-way, and easy to be pushed into the garage, but he did not think so.

After a less reputable shop tried to sell me brakes that I did not need...I went here and they told me that my suspicions were correct. My brakes are fine. They only made $10 off my inspection, instead of trying to sell me something I didn't need...but they earned my trust! Thank you Eric!

Caring & Patient The service was excellent. Eric listened carefully to our car problem, called us in a timely fashion, explained the situation clearly, and offered a solution. The car was fixed within a reasonable timeframe, and the prices make sense. I never feel taken advantage of because I am a female customer with little car knowledge. Gochee’s car service, in particular Eric, is a great car service company I would recommend to anyone. They provide outstanding service, are kind and funny, and you don’t have to worry about them ripping you off as you may with other car service companies. If anything, they undercharge, which I find amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone even if you don’t live in Delmar and have to drive a ways to get to them.

Ive taken my cars here for 6 years. I was very satisfied with their work even though it was more expensive than other places. Recently they take a very long time to complete the work. Recently i took my car in for a quote to fix air con. Then i took it to Nissan dealer to fix air con for $600 less than Gochees. They were supposed to fix check engine light problem. I paid $1100 then light came back on 3 days later. Ill take it elsewhere.

I had another exceptional experience with Gochees Garage this week. I brought my car in for routine maintenance, which they completed on time as promised. During the inspection, they discovered a bulge and crack in one of my tires. I really appreciate that they caught this issue before it could lead to a flat on the side of the road. They installed two new tires the very next day, all at a very fair price. Eric runs a terrific shop, and I would recommend them to everyone.

The biggest challenge when you move across the country is finding people you trust to care for your health, your house, and your car. We struck gold when we got the recommendation to take our cars to Gochees! You're not going to find anyone else who is as friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and, most importantly- HONEST. We've had two instances where it would have been relatively easy for them to tell us there were major issues, but both times we were told the truth; and they were simple, low-budget fixes. Having owned cars in 5 different states and gone through many mechanics, I feel fortunate we've found our place on the first try here.

Monty, who works at the shop is by far the best technician I have ever dealt with in the last 25 years. He has fixed several of my cars including specialty jaguars when the Jaguar dealer could not fix them. He’s also a master ford and Lincoln tech. I highly recommend this shop especially Monty as your tech. I really don’t think there’s anything he can’t fix on a car. All around a great experience for the past 6 years with Gochees and Monty.

I really appreciate the attention to detail when I bring my car in. They never try to over sell me and always do just what's necessary. When there is a repair due, Harry's team is awesome about presenting various repair and service options and giving realistic ideas of cost and time. I brought my car in for an oil change today at 9am and they were fantastic. They took it right in, and it was done quickly. I was back home for my business meeting at 10am. I feel confident bringing my car there for service because I know it'll be done right, and with absolute best mechanics around. Shout out to Eric at the front desk who manages a huge workload but always makes me feel right at home and takes care of business quickly.

Update as of 12/29/25 Following the owner’s public response stating that he hoped to discuss this matter further and work toward a resolution, I sent a direct email to Mr. Gochee over two weeks ago. I have not received any response. Given the lack of follow-up despite that public commitment, I have filed a formal complaint with the New York State DMV so that a neutral third party can review the situation and find a resolution. I am updating this review to reflect not only the repair experience itself, but also the lack of follow-through afterward. Future customers should be aware that despite assurances made publicly, I was unable to get a response or resolution privately. Update as of 12/9/25 Thank you for your response. I have followed up with an email so we can work toward a resolution. For the sake of clarity for future customers, I want to outline the facts of what occurred: 1. I initially brought my car in because it would not start. The shop diagnosed the issue as a faulty fuel pump, and I paid $1,800 for that repair. 2. I was told the car was fully repaired. However, as soon as I started driving it home, the check engine light began blinking — indicating an active misfire. This serious issue was not present when I originally brought the car in. 3. When I returned the next business day, I was told the misfire was due to faulty spark plugs and was charged an additional $900. 4. Although both the shop and I agreed it was highly unlikely that the spark plugs failed coincidentally on the exact day the fuel pump was replaced, Gochee’s maintained that this was the case. They refused to acknowledge the possibility that something was missed in the initial diagnosis or that something may have occurred during the repair to cause the new issue. I look forward to finding a fair resolution and will update this review accordingly. Original post begins below. I brought my car in because it would not start. The shop diagnosed the issue as a faulty fuel pump and charged me about $1,800. After picking up the car, it immediately began running roughly, and the check engine light started blinking — symptoms that did not exist before the repair. I returned the vehicle the next business day. Instead of re-checking their work or considering that the new symptoms began immediately after the fuel pump job, they diagnosed a completely different issue (spark plugs) and charged me another $900. What was frustrating was being told, essentially, that these were “two separate problems,” that the timing was “just a coincidence,” and it was reasonable to pay full price for both repairs, even though the second issue only appeared after the first repair and was not caught during their initial diagnosis. I expect a repair shop to stand behind their work, especially when new problems appear right after a major repair. That didn’t happen here, and I want other customers to be aware of my experience. I understand the owner may reply by saying the repairs were unrelated and that the first repair “got the car running.” I can only share my actual experience: the car developed new symptoms immediately after the repair, and I was charged full price twice. I cannot recommend this shop, and I encourage you to go elsewhere.
