Awful experience with this company. My first appointment "didn't go through". I had a screen shot of it. Which was nice because they do not notify you of ANYTHING, until the mechanic is on his way. The second appointment, the mechanic text me an hour after he was suppose to be here to let me know he was on his way. I couldn't stay so had to reschedule again after waiting around all morning. Not sure what the point of having a mechanic come to you if you have to wait 4 hours for them. The 3rd appointment someone actually came and was within the time slot. Looked at my car, tried to tell me I needed work I didn't need and gave me a huge bill. $1600 for something i got done at $400 a month after, AND had an oil change in that $400... I know I didn't need some of the fixes suggested by FixMyCar because I had JUST had them done a month before, and other mechanics since have said im good. When i called to cancel my membership with them and told them how much they were charging me for parts that i could look up and see.... they took $600 off my bill lol literally took over 1/3 of my bill off because i pointed out they were charging me $90 for a $12 part. Took out certain parts BUT KEPT THE LABOR THE SAME lol The labor they charged was literally more than my entire bill to fix my car from another shop. Overall, this company charged me $60 for a visit and 1 month membership to try and rip me off and then proved they were trying to straight rip me off after i called them out. Like he knew it happened. Don't waste your time or money.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE ALLEN LOCATION! I wish I could give them a zero. I am very displeased with their services. I called them and scheduled an appointment with a mechanic after finding out my serpentine belt may need replacing. The appointment was supposed to be between 3pm -7pm. The mechanic showed up at 7:22pm, didn't call or text until he pulled up. He didn't show any remorse, he just said I went across the street. He first looked at my alternator and told me it looked good, didnt look old or dirty, not sure how he saw that because it was night time. He then changed my serpentine belt, he didn't show me the old belt just put the other one on. When he was finished my car still didn't start. He told me I needed a new battery and to get power steering fluid for my car, eventhough he didn't check the gauges. It turns out that my 2007 Toyota yaris is an electronic power systm, not hydraulic so he almost really messed up my car. I bought a new battery as well and the battery light was still on. I had Auto Zone run a diagnostic and they said it was the alternator. Good hood reached out to me for a review, when I told them what happened they said they would make it right and have a free diagnostic set up. After about 7 calls to them I finally got Heather back who told me that they would charge me $90 for the diagnostic if it turns out not to be their fault. Like I'm a mechanic. They are manipulative and just want your money! Stay away from them. My car still isn't fixed and I'm out of money for a serpentine belt that I didn't need.

Teresa is great, she was very patient and understanding, she explained things to me, Tobias the technician was also great he took his time and explained and showed me the problem with my car. Even though because of company policy he could not repair it. He told me what was wrong so that I can go and tell a mechanic without the expensive guess work and not getting to the problem fixed. I booked a service online for calipers, break pads and rotor replacement. The technician who arrived was very nice, but did inform me that the system had only quoted me for break pads and rotor. Heather from their main office called me, and in so many words accused me of lying, saying the system did not make a mistake, I did the mistake and I had no proof even though I told her I had the PDF to prove it. I have attached a screenshot of the appointment I booked as proof. It seems to me that when this system works, it works, when it doesn't work, they are not willing to acknowledge their part on the issue or work to fix it. I would not advice against their service necessarily but would be ready for poor customer service if things don't go the right way. Edit: to one star, response from the owner says it all. I did tell Heather that I had no interest in arguing. My request was to not be charged a cancellation fee as this was their systems error, she told me it was my fault. I told her I would just post my review and move on. She gave me some weird speech about how it would not be "honorable," which is weirdly reflected in her patronizing response below. Finally Heather did hang up on me (which I note to have happened to other people in other reviews). Again, I cannot speak of the service (which have a lot of suspicious reviews from Texas?), but customer service is subpar. I would steer away, many more options in town.

My power steering line sprung a leak, and they had my car fixed within a few days. Thanks to them coming out and doing the repair on site, i never had to deal with the danger of driving to an auto shop without power steering. The price was fair, Tobias did a great job with the repair, and all of the staff I dealt with were super friendly and helpful. Can't recommend them enough.

The mechanic came to my home conveniently and knocked out all of the major issues I was having with my vehicle. He replaced my starter, and radiator that had cracked, gaskets, and put fresh coolant in. The mechanic also came back and fixed the problem I was having with my A/C, now it is running ice cold. Will continue to recommend this company, thank you. It is very rare to find an honest and reasonable company like this one.

Tobias was my mechanic. He was super nice and knowledgeable. My car was up and running by the end of the next day after sitting in my driveway for 2 months because I wasn't sure what was wrong with it but couldn't drive it to a shop. The diagnostic service is extremely well priced as well, every shop within 5 miles of me quoted me $120-$180 just to look at it, not even fix it but good hood only charges $90. I also didn't feel pressured into any services I didn't want. I'm seriously considering joining the membership program as well because of how great of a deal it is. If you're looking for fair, honest, and kind mechanics, GoodHood is the service to use! :)

I was charged for someone to come out and tell me he couldn't fix my car, it needed to go to a shop. When I took it to a shop, I found out that it could have been fixed by any competent mechanic WILLING to do the work. I tried to work out some kind of a refund sine their mechanic failed to do the work he was sent out to do and they ghosted me. Don't recommend this outfit, find a good local shop, the convenience isn't worth it if they waste your time in the end.
