Used to be my go to store, not anymore. I found really disappointing detail today. I was looking for the clorox wipes and this banner said “low prices $5.98 for 3 pk”. Here is where it gets interesting, so I removed the tag to see the original price for the product and SHOCK!!!! The original price for the product is $5.28 for 3 pk. Try to compare all the barcode numbers if you really want to be sure. HEB commercial says it for people of Texas. Sure, it’s for people of Texas to rob them. Don’t believe me, see the pictures.

Well stocked items and layout! Great selection. The only down side is that “busy” times get really busy to try to navigate the aisles. But they always seem to have enough staff working to try to make it the best grocery shopping trip possible.

I love my HEB! Seriously, there is a reason they are the number one in the country, yet only in Texas! Friendly employees everywhere, today the produce department ler me try a new tropical fruit and it was a $10 exotic fruit (really good). Great prices with excellent service.

Most ppl think I moved to Waco to be near my grandchildren but the TRUTH is…. I moved here so I could shop at HEB! This store is just phenomenal, from all the wonderful little individual dinners ( for every taste!) they throw together every single day, to all of their HEB brands! They are Number One in Waco & they’re #1 with me too!! I’ve tried so many of the HEB brand since in arrived in Waco about a month ago & haven’t been disappointed in any of them! Fact is, I’ve been impressed with ALL of them!!

TERRIBLE customer service by Mattie!! I have filled here numerous times and have never received the disrespect that I did today. My elderly dog has to have medication sent here. I always get tablets and this time they gave me liquid. I told the guy that and he said “that’s what the prescription” reads. So I leave thinking that my veterinarian made a mistake. Obviously the vet is not open on the weekends so I had to wait until Monday to call. The vet stated that he did in fact write the prescription right and the pharmacy messed it up. I call and talk to someone at the call center. I go pick it up and IMMEDIATELY was met with an attitude after I explained what happened. Like defensive when I was super nice and told her “I know it wasn’t you” with a smile the whole time. I asked why she rolled her eyes and wouldn’t acknowledge me anymore. She would NOT look at me in the eyes and ignored me when I was talking!! It’s not something like “oh they gave me too much change back” or vice versa. This was an opioid!! The vet said this couldn’t have ended badly with how bad they misread the prescription dosage! I understand they are human and mistakes can happen but I was NEVER rude and she was quick with an attitude. I know it wasn’t her that filled prescription, but being in customer service—a little compassion goes a long way, not to mention a smile and not ignoring me when I’m talking and talking to another co-worker while I was talking directly to her. Mattie should not be working in customer service!! I did end up talking with Ryan who was as sweet as can be and kept apologizing. Could you imagine what would have happened if I didn’t have a gut feeling and not question the dosage. Or if it were a human they did this to as well—the liability!!!! Such carelessness. Mattie needs to find a new job to say the least.

Always has almost everything I need. Some random seasonal veg or products might not be available but in my experience they usually have 98% of what I’m looking for.

Pathetic. 3 regular lanes open, 3 15 and under open and 6 lanes closed while the 3 regular lanes are 4-5 carts deep. It’s always like this. Hire more cashiers. We shouldn’t have to wait this long to check out.

A good place to get your groceries with many coupons, deals & savings. But it can be a bit crowded around the holidays. One of the store managers name of Michael Mercer he is pretty helpful when it comes to products that are missing are not on the shelf.

Constantly out of products. Staff are rude and dismissive, will ignore you in order to continue non-work conversations. Have to maneuver around online order shoppers who obviously don't care about being in the way of in-store customers. Unfortunately, since HEB clearly has a monopoly in town, it's this or nothing. In fact, with the extreme population growth in Waco, it hurts residents even more to be stuck with only one grocer chain. They must be paying someone a ton of money to keep quality grocers out of Waco and force residents to shop here. Those of use who have seen what other grocers have to offer are not fooled by HEB.

Very customer-friendly place and they treat their employees well. Things are usually stocked and their combo Loco things are awesome you have to look for them on the shelves. I do 100% of my shopping for groceries at HEB. On the downside they're usually very packed and the customers tend to not be very friendly.

First time visiting this grocery store. I'm passing through town. I really liked it a lot. I loved the fresh squeezed juices. I had the watermelon. Yum. Nice selection of fruits and veggies. Very nice organized store. Good variety. I liked the HEB brand praline pecans too. I would definitely shop here if I was in the area.

I go to HEB because everything is cheaper and the meat and veggies are better quality. Plus there's more of a better selection of international food than Walmart.

Poorly stocked, overly crowded and parking lot is a difficult to manage. Produce is much better (and more options) at HEB Plus. I live 5 minutes from here and drive to Woodway to shop. The aggravation of Wooded Acres isn’t worth the convenience.

I bought a sheet birthday cake and I have to say I am extremely disappointed. For $20 you'd expect to have a good cake. It was the absolute worst thing I've ever bought from any bakery! The chocolate cake tasted like it was old. The frosting was so waxy/greasy it was as if I had been eating shortening straight from the canister. I will never buy from there again. The quality of the products they sell has also diminished.

This H-E-B located in Waco, Texas is overall a good store. The employees are helpful. The store is large. We have noticed that several items that we were looking for they didn’t have. For example: Ortega taco seasoning, Silk almond vanilla milk in 8oz packaging, expresso coffee beans chocolate coated in a pre packaged container. The parking lot looks like it could be redone. The prices seem to be fair. The gas station is very convenient. We will be shopping here again.

What is not to like about HEB? When I venture out of Waco, I visit the HEB's just to see what the other stores are like, believe it or not I get excited about going. Austin has a 3 level HEB. You part on the first floor and shop on the top two floors. If you haven't visited I recommend you go. Great staff, great company, great food stuff, and great stores over all.

Rude management, doesn't price checked like asked , and lets their customer harass their employees personally witnessed an employee get harassed and management did nothing for the employee. I didn’t feel safe. Hope things change here. And to the cashier (Tiara) I hope you find a place that protects you. You didn’t deserve to be cussed out .

H-E-B isn’t just a grocery store—it’s a Texas institution. If you know, you know. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is run with care, efficiency, and a deep understanding of what real folks want in their shopping experience. The store layout is smart and easy to navigate, the shelves are always well-stocked, and the produce? Always fresh, vibrant, and local when possible. Their meat department is top-tier—great selection, great cuts, and knowledgeable butchers who actually want to help. And don’t even get me started on the bakery… warm tortillas, fresh bread, and sweet treats that feel like home. But what really sets H-E-B apart is the attention to detail. Their branded products often outshine national brands, and the variety—whether you’re shopping organic, gluten-free, or grabbing old-school comfort foods—is unmatched. The Meal Simple options? A lifesaver for busy weeks. The H-E-Buddy kids programs? A parent’s dream. Customer service is always top-notch. Employees are friendly, helpful, and genuinely seem happy to be there (which says a lot). Checkout is fast and efficient—even during peak hours, they’ve got people moving. And let’s not forget the community support. H-E-B shows up during hurricanes, holidays, and everything in between. This company gives back in a way that feels real and rooted in Texas values. If you’re lucky enough to live near an H-E-B, consider yourself blessed. It’s the best grocery store around—hands down. Nothing else even comes close.
