These guys are too awesome. I was lucky enough to have a family of rats move in under my engine, eating away at my entire wire harness. Kevin and his guys helped me out in just a few days at an affordable price. Not only that, when I picked up the car, it had been cleaned inside and out! Highly recommend.

Took our car to them over the course of 6 months and at first we thought they were nice guys but would lie and charge us for things that were “fixed”, when they weren’t repaired correctly. Also they decide their own hours and there’s no clarity about which day each specific mechanic will be in so your car could sit under the BQE for quite a few days before it even starts to get worked on

After receiving a ticket for not having my NY Inspection sticker, I was in a bit of a rush to have my inspection scheduled and passed. I drive a fairly new car with work just recently done to it, so I had very little doubt that my car would pass. I called around the area, and the only place that seemed able to take my car in a reasonable timeframe was Harry's Auto Repair. Relieved, I dropped my car off later that afternoon, with the plan being to pick it up the next morning. The person I spoke to on the phone and at the shop was very kind and professional. The next day, I receive a text saying that my car needs $3,000 in work in order for the vehicle to pass. Of course, I was shocked, but also a bit confused. One of the items that stuck out immediately was that I needed my alignment fixed, when in fact I had done that exact work in another repair shop just three weeks earlier. Of course, not being super savvy with vehicles, I assumed maybe something had come loose already. However, as I reviewed the rest of the invoice of proposed work, I noticed they were also going to charge me for THREE new wiper blades. I had just replaced the front wiper blades in the month prior, and additionally, the state of NY does NOT require that you have a rear windshield wiper (mostly because most cars don't even have them!). This small $20 item in itself is what tipped me off to the fact that the people here are not entirely honest, and will try and add items just to jack up the price. So, I took my car away, not having done any work, and contacted the next auto repair shop that I was more familiar with and had used in the past (they weren't available initially due to previously mentioned schedule). $120 later (including inspection), my car was ready to go with a new inspection sticker. Maybe this repair shop saw things that others could not, and if that is the case, kudos to you on your attention to detail. However, if you find yourself in need of auto repair, make sure you TRIPLE check their proposed invoices and do you due diligence to check around, you could end up saving $2800.

Extremely unprofessional. After getting my car inspected I was told to fix certain parts. I explained what I needed at the shop and after two days they came back to me with an invoice for $5k. Seems like this is too much given that I just had the car inspected. After telling them I wanted to get a second opinion they parked my car illegally on the street in the middle of my workday.

Amazing service!! Highly recommend. They texted me pictures throughout the job so I could see the progress which was very cool. They even stayed super late to get the job done. Had my Wrangler undercoated, alignment, oil change. Really impressed with how well everything turned out. These guys will take amazing care of your car and they are a one-stop-shop for anything you need. So happy I found them and will never go to another shop!

Kevin and his crew are masters of the craft of mechanics. They are friendly, honest, punctual and LOVE cars. They are also fun to banter with without distracting from the business that needs to get done. I've brought in both luxury vehicle and a vintage car and they make miracles happen, all with a positive attitude. I recommend them for tiny repairs to serious body work.

Go to Kevin. He’s honest and skilled and has always given me incredible prices and work. I’ve been going with him for a decade and wouldn’t even think to go to another mechanic!

Strange experience trying to get the NY state inspection. They did their own inspection of my car without doing the state inspection, at all. Sent me photos of various parts of my car and an invoice for $3600 with a list of 11 things I needed to do before they could pass my car. I told them I couldn’t afford it, they offered me financing and cheaper parts, but it all started to feel like a scam. I confirmed with a friend that nothing on that list was actually needed to pass the inspection. After I declined they didn’t do the state inspection and didn’t charge me for it. I immediately took my car to another shop in the area and it passed and I was done within an hour. This is probably an unfortunate sales tactic they use on people who may not know any better. Be wary and get a second opinion before committing to this shop.

Kevin runs a great shop with his father. He was honest, the quote was competitive, and the repair was flawless- his shop even detailed the car after the repair. His shop was quite busy at the time, so I would recommend reaching out early to get your car in the repair queue.

Throughout the past year, I had a couple of excellent experiences here and it's definitely my go-to shop as long as I'm in NYC. Kevin was very helpful with easy communication through both phone calls and WhatsApp. He helped me deal with insurance company confusion and worked out a fair price for me to get my car back on the road after a complicated fix. They are thorough and will show you and explain what's wrong with your car without overcharging you or trying to add extra work. I think trust and competency are a big deal in auto repair. It's hard to choose a shop to work on your car since prices can be high at so many places and you don't know who to trust. There are so many options. For me, I'm happy to go to Harry's Auto.

I was really amazed by how incredible the customer service at Harry's auto repair is. I had gone to another auto repair shop and gotten a really high quote for repairs i'd need to pass inspection, and I wanted a second opinion. The most impressive thing about Moe was he took photos of my brakes and other components in the car and was able to show my husband directly on the car itself what needed repair and why in person. His quote for service was over $600 less than the previous auto shop, and he even did extra details just to be nice. Moe has made a lifetime customer out of me! I trust Harrys Auto Repair and I'm grateful to find an honest mechanic.

Great mechanic. My wife had a problem with her car, and she went to three other mechanics, who all tried to sell her a $3000+ part. It didn't seem right to us, but Harry explained that it was a cheap and easy fix, and he was 100% correct. He actually cares about his customers and their cars, isn't trying to cheat anyone out of their money. Can't recommend him enough.

Love taking our car to Harry’s. They are so transparent about any service needed, and our car always comes back absolutely sparkling. Would 100% recommend them to anyone in the neighborhood.

This place is a complete scam. I went in for a routine inspection for my Toyota Camry as a solo woman in her 20s. The car has always been well maintained and has had no issues. They told me that the minimum $4,000.00 of work would need to be done in order for them to pass my car for inspection, and nothing less than that would be possible for it to pass. I left without paying and took it to Pep Boys and the car immediately passed inspection. They are definitely trying to take advantage of people - really shady vibe and from other reviews this looks to be the typical practice here. Avoid!! Don’t waste your time like I did!

Dishonest and Unprofessional – AVOID AT ALL COSTS Having received a ticket for a 3-day expired inspection sticker, I was eager to get my car off the street and to Harry’s Garage for a quick inspection, figuring there would be no issue since they had serviced the car just 4-5 weeks ago. They assured me the car was safe but recommended I consider replacing the struts within the next 6 months, which is why I had targeted January for the job due to the cost. Initially, I found them decent and friendly, but after my recent experience, it’s clear they’re nothing but scam artists. When I brought the car in weeks ago for a routine checkup, they tried to upsell me on over $3,000 in repairs, including replacing the struts. I agreed to some of the other work they recommended, but now I regret trusting them at all. At the time, they also explained a highly questionable business practice: once someone replaces their struts, they encourage customers to return just before the 12-month warranty expires to swap them out again—unnecessarily. This way, customers get another "free" year of struts, but Harry’s Garage charges for the labor. Kevin even mentioned the manufacturer “doesn’t notice” because they sell so many. This struck me as incredibly shady, and in hindsight, I should have known better than to return. Fast forward 4-5 weeks and only 200 miles of driving, I returned for a simple $37 inspection to avoid another ticket. Instead, they tried to hit me with over $3,000 in repairs: the struts (again), a minor crack in the tail light (which supposedly required replacing the entire assembly), a “leaking” battery, and a deep clean for rat feces in the engine (a common issue in NYC). I reminded them we had agreed to wait until January for the struts, and it was odd that the car suddenly needed all this work right after their service. They agreed to hold the car while I arranged to pick it up. However, when I arrived, they told me they had parked the car on Graham Avenue instead of keeping it at the shop, and I ended up getting another ticket. It’s one thing to get unlucky with tickets, especially with street cleaners suspended for Rosh Hashanah, but this could have been easily avoided if they had just informed me they were putting the car back on the street. I admit I raised my voice because their failure to communicate caused me a second ticket in two days, which was completely avoidable. Rick’s response, however, was shockingly unprofessional. Instead of offering a solution, he became confrontational, cursed at me, and even made a racial remark, calling me a “white something or other.” His behavior was completely out of line, and it would’ve been hard for anyone not to react angrily. I later took my car to a Toyota dealership for a second opinion, and they confirmed there was no need to replace the struts, the battery wasn’t leaking, and the car passed inspection without issue. This place is a total scam, using unethical sales tactics and displaying unprofessional, even threatening behavior. If this is how they conduct their business, I shudder to think what else they’re doing behind closed doors. I’ve reported them to the Better Business Bureau and would advise anyone to steer clear of Harry’s Garage. They’re a stain on the neighborhood.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience at Harry's Auto! I had a last-minute issue, and they took care of it in under 20 minutes. Not only was it incredibly affordable, but the team, especially Kevin, was super knowledgeable. He even shared that they offer classes on how to change tires—such a helpful bonus! I feel like I learned so much. Kevin was so kind and efficient, and honestly, he's a bonus to the team (ladies, he's cute too!). Highly recommend Harry's Auto for fast, friendly, and professional service!

Kevin was amazing. Helped me with my car on a Sunday. Returned Monday midday, all scratches gone and a fresh detail. The detail alone would have cost me more than what I paid for the service .

Went in for a state inspection and was told I needed nearly $3,500 worth of work, including new tires, brakes, shocks, and other items, in order to pass. I decided to get a second opinion at another licensed inspection shop, and they passed the car immediately with no issues. This experience makes me believe unnecessary repairs were being pushed. I recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to work here. They have been helpful in the past but I don’t think I’ll be doing business here anymore.

Had a good experience with Kevin — this was my first time doing this amount of work on my car and Kevin took the time to explain things to me and was easy to communicate with. I definitely trust him and feel like I was well taken care of.
