Heartland did a great job for us, about a month ago the torque converter on our transmission gave out on us while pulling a camper. It was late in the day and they answered the phone after hours. We found them to be honest, curtious and professional. We were in a pinch and they were able to help us locate a tow service and stored the camper while work was done on the truck. I would definately recommend them to anyone in need of transmission work.

Heartland has been my go to 4X4 and transmission shop for over 30 years. Tom leads a quality operation and provides excellent advice. I have heard the argument that the best mechanics never recommend service beyond what the vehicle owner requests. That is a ridiculous approach to maintenance putting the owner in a completely reactive mode having to wait for warning lights, destructive noises, breakdowns, or strandings to deal with issues after they have gotten expensive. Tom regularly provides valuable insight in to the mechanical state of the entire vehicle based on his knowledge and long experience. That insight plus proactive maintenance is the only reliable path to the actual goal of lowest possible operating costs. Beyond the gamut of 4X4 maintenance I have also used Heartland for a wide range of automatic transmission work. From fluid exchanges to complete rebuilds on everything from Audis, BMWs, and VWs to Escalades, Ford pickups, and Jeeps that work has been uniformly excellent at a fair price.

Broke down in St. Cloud for the night after hours. Heartland Four Wheel Drive was able to get my vehicle serviced in the morning and I was back on road before lunchtime. Very professional, great service, and reasonable repair cost. Would recommend to a friend.

Professional and to the point. Final cost was higher than expected on a differential rebuild for a nissan titan. It needed updated parts which was not anticipated. Tom provides quality work and was very timely with the repair. Excellent service!!

First of all, arguing with me.. yikes... anyways, Over 2 months of walking during this cold winter because they didnt let me know that I needed to authorize work. I called 6 times during those two 2 months explaining what I needed and they managed to forget to ask if they could do what I asked them to do. At the end of wasting all that time they managed to create a large bill for me to pay, leave tools and trash for me to clean up, leave the vehicle in a state of unfinished roade ready assembly and let me know they dont stand by the work they just did. So long fair well and thanks for the story!

Tom and Kevin are extremely knowledgeable and the prices are very fair I'm always given options for how I want things repaired. I drop my Jeep off with them often and Brenda is always happy to say hello and make sure everything is taken care of and she keeps me up to date on what's going on. Heartland has done almost everything to my Jeep . Swapped axles, sway bars and tie rods. Plenty of parts in the driveline, they maintain my engine and offers real solutions to problems rather than costly excessive repairs. They have done electrical work and fixed many problems that I have encountered from wear and tear to plenty of additons to my vehicle, they have added my suspension, rock sliders, front bumper with a winch and even replaced the canvas on my soft top. I'm happy and confident knowing my Jeep was built and is taken care of by the crew at Heartland 4x4!

If you are in need of quality care for your vehicle, this is the place. Heartland is my family's first choice, and they provide recommendations to services they can't do, and it's not much that they can't do. You just have to experience them yourself, and you will see how great they are.

I had an excellent experience at Heartland 4x4. They got me in right away, evaluated the problem and got me fixed in a day!!! And the bill was reasonable and well below what a dealer would have charged. I'm from out of town, but I might take my business there anyway. What a relief to find an honest & knowlegable mechanic!!

Best hidden gem for getting your vehicle worked on. Brenda is always super helpful fitting you in to the schedule and a pleasure to talk to. They are super quick and probably the best priced in town. They do great quality work and never upcharge you or try to sell you on things you don't need done. Waiting area is small but we usually just walk across the road to the copper lantern for a bite to eat.

I had no clue this business was in town - thank you google for helping me find them. I was searching for someone local to put a leveling kit in one of my vehicles and Heartland quoted a fair price and a quick install. Knowledgeable people, fair price, good service - what more could you ask for! I will bring other vehicles and recommend people check them out!

Tom does great work. That is when he gets to it. I've been going here for over 20 yrs. Always trust worthy reasonable prices. If there is an issue Tom will let you know, he won't just fix it and charge you for it. He will let you know if it needs to be fixed now or if you can get by till later. Sometimes it takes longer get work done but Always professional, straight, honest, all at a good price. Brenda is his receptionist and very knowledgeable as well and friendly staff.

Really impressed with this shop. Brenda is the most pleasant and efficient person you'll meet when you call. Tom is a no nonsense guy that will find your actual problem and quote ya up front what it will cost to fix at a fair price. I was on the verge of trading the vehicle when I ran across this shop. I couldn't be happier with the service and the way my vehicle drives now. Thanks Heartland!

I have a 1981 Pontiac Trans Am with a very unique turbo engine. I've only had the car for a few weeks and have had a couple shops not know what to do with it. I was referred to Heartland Four Wheel Drive by one of them. They had no worries about working on the car and were very up front about the issues and costs. I am very impressed with the results.

Had my 2005 Yukon XL 2500 in for some service. Needed transmission cooler lines, a tie rod and a transfer case output seal, which they confirmed were all completed via phone call and I paid for, of course. Lines and tie rod seem fine, but the t case seal went from a slight seep to a rather intense leak with a drip every few seconds when running and even dripping occasionally when not running. The whole crossmember is soaked and I could even see where the fluid was hitting the drive shaft and rear diff cover when driving. This was after a 20 minute test drive to work. In addition, it appears they used regular ATF and not the recommended Auto Trak fluid in the transfer case, based on the fact that the leaking fluid is red like ATF and not blue like Auto Trak, although I suppose this could be a replacement. I unfortunately needed this truck to tow a trailer about 1000 mile round trip this weekend and will not have it available as a result, and will likely be forced to either rent a truck or use my half ton that is not rated to handle the weight of the trailer in question. Pictures attached. I will update this if this is remedied. Update: last picture with a closer view shows after second seal replacement. Still leaking. Shop claims bushing on the inside is ok and should just be a seal.
