I used this repair shop to replace an oil pan gasket on a 98 camaro...not an easy job. They replaced it in a timely manner and even one of the techs worked on it while they were on there vacation. I am extremely happy with the work done and would recommend them to anyone. Great job guys!

I was in town for work and my car engine started rattling. Another mechanic recommended that I bring it to Home Town Auto and I couldnt be more grateful! They we very friendly and were able to take a look at the car immediately. After running through a few diagnostics they were able to pin point the problem, complete the work and send me on my way in a few hours. Their price was very reasonable and I can't recommend them enough!

I took my car there to have what I thought was a nail in a tire. It ended up being the end of a screw. They removed the screw and didn't charge anything because the tire wasn't punctured. They are honest and friendly which is hard to find at the big box shops. I definitely plan to have all future service done at this location.

Had transmission troubles on my way to NC from FL. Stopped by Pooler Auto and he was slammed, but he recommended me to Home Town Auto. Pulled in and spoke with Bobby the owner, he had his guy Anthony pull my car in and check it out. When I asked him what I owed him he said “nothing”! But I had to pay him something for his time! I don’t expect a man to drop what he’s doing to help an out of towner for free. Glad to see there are good honest shops still around that won’t take advantage of people! HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys if you need help!

Savannah tire quoted me $990 to replace my wife's radiator. Called these guys up and they quoted me $280 out the door with a parts and labor guarantee. They swapped the radiator out, filled the coolant, and then tested the repair extensively all within hours of taking the car in. I felt that the price was fair, the repair was done with care, and the service was quick and friendly. I will return to them first with my next issue. UPDATE: I have since returned to have my wife's a/c compressor replaced. Once again, they got it done quickly and genuinely seemed to care that the job was done well. No issues with either repair at all. To the owner of Hometown Auto: please keep running your business this way. There are so few places left that treat their customers like actual people and treat other's property as if it were their own. I have, and will continue to, refer people to you for this exact reason. Thank you!

The people here are great! Excellent work done on my F150 and my son's Cavalier. They found the problems and fixed them the same day. Very knowledgeable about different makes of vehicles. Great business to deal with!! Definitely a hometown atmosphere. We will be getting my husband's truck worked on next and I have every confidence that it will be just as great of service as before. We will be dealing with them and nobody else. The chain repair shops are no match for these guys.

I'm thankful to have found an honest place! Asked them to inspect my vehicle, in preparation for a long trip, and they said the tires and brakes were well within safe ranges. No need to replace anything at this time. Happy with their service!

I called this shop due to the possibility that my catalytic converter replacement would not be covered by the dealership (it eventually was). I was called back one hour later with an estimate, an explanation on why the estimate was so high due to the expensive nature of the part, and the employee did research to help support my argument that the dealership should replace the part under an emissions warranty. Very impressed by their honest work.

I took my 1997 Chrysler Sebring here so they could find and fix an oil leak I was having.the car was in the shop for about 3 days they called and said my car was done. They said there would some left over oil drops until the oil would burn off. Two weeks later the oil leak was now bigger so I decided not take my car back to them and I went somewhere else. What was found was that the gasket on the valve cover was stretched out of shape and was not lined up with the bolt holes. The problem was fixed the oil leaked stopped. I went by hometown auto to let them know about the problem I had gave them a copy of the bill and and a picture of the stretched out gasket I was told they would get back with me once they talked to the owner. I was not expecting anything other than ok we are sorry. But I have not heard anything from them as of this review.i have taken my cars to them on a few occasions but in the future I will not be going back and will be going to whitton auto repair from now on.

Excellent service! Found myself stranded on I16 when I was 3.5 hours from home. I got towed to this location after they closed, but they touched base with me first thing. They diagnosed the problem immediately and worked me in despite their totally packed day. By the end of the day, my car was in working order, and I was able to pick it up no problem! Incredibly reasonable price and professional service.

Travel car issues. They put me ahead of others to get us back on the road. Over kill on repairs to get back on the road, but needed to be done. Only thing I would have liked was a heads up on how repairs where going I could have sleep 💤 in longer. 💕 . My advice check tires. Had a blow out and fixed one issue. Thanks 🙏 the folks that got us back on the road.

UPDATE: Owner stated the following: "If you feel that the fee for looking at your car to give you an estimate on repairs is unfair, and we do apologize if you were not verbally informed of this fee, as is our custom to do, we will refund you this fee." I ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT VERBALLY INFORMED ABOUT THIS FEE AND THEREFORE SHOULD GET A REFUND. HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING THAT REFUND? I thought about going back to the shop in Pooler, but I have no desire to get into any difficulty with your staff there. AVOID THIS PLACE. Judging from a couple of other comments I have now read, they have a habit of NOT INFORMING YOU WHEN THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR SOMETHING. I brought my Lexus RX300 in for an alignment. Now, this is an older car (in very good shape), and the woman NEVER, EVER MENTIONED THAT THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE FOR SIMPLY ***LOOKING*** AT MY CAR. She never even mentioned it when she called me on the phone to say that they needed to do almost $4,000 worth of work on my car before it could even be aligned. I declined the work they recommended because I WILL NOT fork out $4,000 without getting a second opinion, and then I was SHOCKED to see that they still felt the need to charge me $68 for "inspection"!!!!! HERE'S A TIP FOR HOME TOWN AUTO CARE: CUSTOMERS DON'T LIKE TO BE SURPRISED WITH A CHARGE THAT THEY WERE NEVER INFORMED ABOUT BEFOREHAND. If you're lost in Pooler, don't ask for directions at this place - THEY'LL PROBABLY CHARGE YOU FOR THEM. UPDATE: The owner states that a diagnostic fee is "usual and customary". I agree - I have no problem with that. BUT I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT MY CAR WOULD BE DIAGNOSED. I came in for an alignment, and I repeat: I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT MY CAR WOULD BE SUBJECT TO ANY DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE, AND I WAS NEVER TOLD THE FEE FOR THAT DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. The owner states: "You even asked if you’d have to pay the fee if we did the repairs and we told you no." This is not entirely true. Since I was suprised at having to pay a fee when NO work was actually done to my car, I asked if this diagnostic activity would have been done (and billed) if the shop had ALIGNED MY CAR. I was NOT referring to the mechanical work that was quoted - which was exorbitantly priced. The owner further states: "This is posted in our office right at the front counter where you sign consent for repairs/diagnostics." REALLY?? To place total responsibility for keeping customers informed of any fees on the presence of an alleged "sign" at the front counter is COP-OUT. You need to TELL the customer if/when charges and fees will be made. I am NOT the only customer who has complained here about your "surprise" fees, so maybe that alleged "sign" at the front counter is not sufficient notification. You need to realize that I didn't come in for a "repair". I came in for maintenance service - an alignment. I don't think it's the same thing, but you apparently treat them both the same, with an automatic "diagnostic" procedure that was NEVER mentioned to me. Needless to say, I won't ever be back.

My truck broke down in Savannah during a golf trip. I managed to get it to Home Town Auto Care. They took the vehicle that day and worked late that evening to repair it. I was back on the road the next day! The price was very reasonable and everyone was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend HTAC for your auto repairs and maintenance!

I take my SUV there, they recommend 3500$ in work. I say its ok. I need it done. They do the work and I still have a problem. They recommend me take it to a shop in garden city, the shop there tells me I have blown head gaskets and the engine is shot, and I should have not gotten all the work done that got done. so hometown literally TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME AND BASICALLY STOLE MY MONEY,L. Why could they not tell me that before I spend all the money. This place is a joke.
