I would not recommend this place to anyone the owner is a liar he told me it would be 265 to run 3 test on my vehicle after he was done he said it was my ignition coils an mas air flow sensor he told my wife it would 2900 $ not knowing that i know how to repair cars an I know repair prices it very sad that these days we still have mechanics trying to take advantage of women for simple car repairs

When you get work done here, ask for your old parts back. If you brought your own parts, check before you leave to make sure that the parts you brought were actually installed.

Tom (owner of the shop) is a liar and a thief. Kids working on your cars and he will cut corners any way he can to save himself money and charge you more

Worst shop ever. I called to ask about my car and that I already have the diagnostic for my car and he was literally told me “if you have the diagnosis, do it yourself” and hung up. Didn’t even finish my sentence to tell him when can I bring my car in. 0 stars if I can.

I let this guy change my water pump on my truck, a few months later I had a issue with my vehicle and took it to another shop and the mechanic said the water pump was leaking. I took to another shop to have it change and the mechanic said the water pump was used it not brand new and this why it's leaking

Had a great experience. Charged a reasonable rate relative to what I was getting quoted from other shops, and had my car back the next day. So far I have no complaints, I plan on using them again

Very rude owner, fixed me car and when I went to check out complained they should have charged me more. Then they didn’t even put all the parts back on my car. Was rude when I took the minivan back to them for the same issue, then they ignored me and i had to take it to another mechanic. Thanks goodness the other mechanic fixed it and charged me less. Find someone else they are not that cheap.

Regis Radiator could have changed my compressor for 614.28 bucks! 884.00 is what Honest Auto charged, shop around before you fix your car there! Great work, but way over priced!

The staff at Honest Auto surprised me right away when they accepted a hard job which required a lot more effort and specialty knowledge than any other auto shop in the area had to give - and they did NOT disappoint!!!! I am so thankful that there are still good honest folks around, like those running this shop. They saved me the arm & leg costs of dealership work. I just had to be patient because it was a REALLY hard job. These guys have earned my loyalty for all my future auto aepairs.

Highly priced, very rude, He never listened. He cut you off, and then says, “I am very busy”. He charged me for 2 hours $165/per hour including taxes ($330 for labor). On the top he charged $ 80 for not putting any new component. Over the phone, he said, he will put new wire and will charge $ 80. Basically, he charged twice labor. However, it is in handwritten receipt which can hardly be read, says he did repair. Altogether he charged $ 420 for the job. When I called, he refused to explain what exactly he did and said rudely, that “don’t call me again, I have already written on the receipt”

The Chinese owner needs to change the name of this business because he isn’t honest at all. My husband stop by a few days ago and told the owner he believed that needed the front shocks and struts done he told my husband the whole job would be $350. Well today my husband went back to talk to the owner and asked if he could check to make sure if shocks and struts were really the problem. The owner told my husband it was going to be $5 to jack the care up. Well the owner confirmed that it was exactly what my husband thought and then told my husband he owed him $65 just to check. Then he told him the job would cost $800 instead of the $350 he originally quoted. My husband should have checked the reviews before he came to this place!!! Horrible customer service!! Now what if my husband didn’t have $65 on him because he told him it was going to $5 you don’t do people that he only agreed because of the price he gave him before jacking the car up!!!

Went with check engine light. He put tester on and announced I needed oxygen sensor . Left truck there and he called later saying the bill would be $ 336 to change one sensor. He charged $140 for sensor and $ 195 labor. Seems a bit high as sensors on web run from $49 to $75 and unscrewing the old and screwing in the new is no worse than changing a spark plug. It is under on the exhaust system so he did use his lift. Still feel taken.

The fact that this place is called “Honest Auto Service” is laughable. John is every thing but honest. He is rude and disrespectful. Talks to women very poorly. I had to threaten to call the police to get him to stop calling and harassing my 19year old daughter. He gave use 72 hrs to remove her vehicle after we determined it was not fixable (that was a Friday) he was closed the weekend, then started harassing her saying she had 24 hrs to remove it he would have it towed at her expense. We sent tow truck that same day to get it and when the tow truck arrived he locked his shop up and left. I would not send my worst enemy to do business with him. He should not have a business. Very unprofessional from start to finish. DO NOT USE THIS GUY. Nothing is honest about this place

I would give them ten stars!! Their name fits them. I had used them on two occasions! They changed my lightbulbs on both headlights which in their system stated it would take an hour. Their system showed two different prices for each headlight. Came back in about 5 -10 minutes and only charged me for one side and even discounted that side. They are honest people and are quick who will squeeze you in their busy schedule.

This guy is not Honest, he charge me for work he did not do. I brought my car to another mechanic and paid a fraction of what Honest auto wanted to charge me. He charge my daughter almost $400 to run a test on a transmission and she didn't have a transmission problem. Stay away from this shop.

Tom at Honest Auto cost me $1,500 of damage. I brought my car in to have my breaks and rotors changed. all four wheels. This happend on 06/13/25. I dropped my car off at approximately 8:30am. I had to call him before he closed for him to tell me that it was ready and I could come pick up my car. I don't live far from his shop so it didn't take long to get there. When I got back home, my radiator started spewing antifreeze out all over my driveway and got all over my engine bay. At first glance, I knew I had gotten my breaks done so I was thinking I was seeing break fluid from a loose break line maybe? But no, it was all coming out of my radiator. I tuned my car off immediately and let it cool down. Upon further investigation, I went to see if my radiator cap was loose. Bingo! It wasnt even tightened all the way which means he or one of his employees would have had to loosen it themselves. I paid for a break job, he had no business touching my radiator cap much less not even tightening it back all the way so I'd lose all my antifreeze when I got home. The very next morning, I wake up early for work so I was up at 4 am. I drove to the racetrack on Belle Chase hwy to get gas and a couple drinks for work that day. I get there and my front rotors are so hot I can smell them. I barely touched my front left rotor and liked to burn the tip of my finger off. Clearly, I can't drive 60 miles to work like this. So I had to take off. Well conveniently enough for him, he's closed all weekend and this was now Saturday. So I can't even call him. Oh by the way, the radiator incident happened 10 minutes after he closed so he didn't answer my call then either. Back to what happened. I ended up having to bring my car to NTB on Terry Pkwy to get a break inspection and see what the heck this guy did to my car. The guys at NTB were fantastic, they called me back to look at everything with them and they showed me that both my front calipers were seized. Completely locked up. You couldn't turn either wheel. Bran new rotors trashed. Upon further inspection I found out that he also used bearing grease on my calipers and not break lubricant rated for high temperatures. But that's not even all, since now I have to buy new rotors, AND new calipers, when they took the seized calipers off, there were signes of excessive force, likely with a hammer would be my guess. All this that I'm describing, I have pictures and videos of because I planned on doing whatever I could to get a refund. When all was said and done, my bill at Honest Auto was $1,100 and i bought the breaks and rotors myself which cost a bit over $500. And then my bill at NTB for fixing what Tom at Honest Auto messed up was $1,444. Almost the same bill which put me out over 3 grand in less than 24 hours. While I'm thinking about it I'll also at as a side note that when I picked up my car from honest Auto, my sound system was turned all the way up to MAX. and my sound system is digital so you would have to do that intentionally... Anyway, so I wait til Monday (today) when Im leaving this 1 star review. I go to bring this to his attention and try to make some kind of deal with him in my favor. He denies having any part in anything I said. He denied touching my radiator cap. He denied touching my calipers (which is impossible when changing rotors) and he refused to even meet me halfway. So I will be pursuing this by other means now. I'd like to add one more thing. About 6 weeks prior to any of this. I had him change my vavle cover gaskets because I had oil in one of my spark plug wells. He changed my plugs and coil ignition packs too. But ever since then, I've been periodically smelling a burning smell coming through my vents when I idle. He claimed it was just oil that spilled out onto my engine bay while changing the gaskets, which he didn't clean... But I've since cleaned it and I still get the smell once in a while and then it goes away so I'm going to have to take a closer look at that as well whether it's by another mechanic or by myself which I don't have time for. All in all... 👎👎

I went to Dishonest Auto to have a hub bearing replaced on my newer model 4WD Ford F150. As one of the mechanics who appeared to be a teenager was trying to remove the old hub bearing, he snapped off the axle nut. Tam, owner of Dishonest Auto, then calls me to say what happened and tells me I need to pay for a new axle for $300+. I go to the shop and see the damage and ask why he wouldn’t use a penetrant first before attempting to remove the axle nut. He begins yelling and making a scene going on about how nobody tells him how to run a business. It got very hostile and uncomfortable. Unprofessional is a complete understatement of this little man’s behavior. In the end I stood my ground and refused to pay for something his teenage mechanics broke by using improper methods. Save your time, money and peace of mind by not bringing your vehicle here to get worked on.
