I have been fortunate for the opportunities throughout my life to visit a lot of places around the world. One of the most challenging, beautiful & peaceful places I’ve experienced was the trek to Mt. Everest base camp! I took my two grown sons and one of their girlfriends and we had an amazing trip; not only because the trek was incredible, but equally so because of Ngima and his crew! He was so kind and respectful to me (endearingly called me mom!) and my two Colorado boys who were in their mid 20’s had a blast! As I travel with my sons from time to time, I now rate my trips by their experience and for that Ngima gets an A+! We originally planned our trip hiking to the Gokyo Lakes but when Ngima calculated our departure date and realized we had extra days, he spun things around and made it possible for us to trek both the Lakes AND base camp! If you want to take on an amazing journey that all your friends will hear about in awe, engage Ngima so you can have an exhilarating experience. Once you’ve completed your journey, you will post the same fabulous review! His knowledge of the trek and his execution of all the details were flawless and I would ONLY want Ngima to lead the way! Ngima Sherpa lead our group to Goyko Lakes and Everest Base Camp. It was an amazing experience. Not only were the sherpas extremely friendly and respectful, informative about the history and life in the region, but they were also knowledgeable about the trails and any present dangers. Between Goyko Lakes and Everest Base Camp, there is a large glacier field after the pass where you cannot see a path or trail. Ngima and his crew never got lost and knew exactly where to go. They lead us safely through this glacier field. We also got stuck in a small rock slide, but Ngima and his crew put our safety first and ensured we safely arrived to Everest Base Camp. My wife and I have done two trips with Pemba. The first was a trek up the Gokoyo valley,a climb of Gokoyo Ri, over the Cho La pass, and then a climb of Kalle Patthar. The second was a trek into the Annapurna base camp and the a tour of Bhutan. Both trips were outstanding and Pemba was a fantastic guide. He took great care of us looking after every detail and his sherpa support did a great job of handling our gear. On the Gokyo trip we had poor weather at the outset and then at the conclusion causing problems with the arrangements including leaving from Lukla. He handled everything including getting us a helicopter to fly us out where many others were left stranded in Lukla. On the Annapurna trip I got sick but managed to continue because Pem helped me with my backpack for several days until I felt better. The Bhutan trip was the first for Pem and it was handled flawlessly. He is not only a great guide but a personal friend. I cannot say too much in praise for Pem as a person and as a guide. Imperial Expeditions is a fantastic company that provides the highest quality of service I have ever experienced. I have used them over ten times. Mainly in Nepal and Bhutan, where I have had over 30 people in my group and as little as just me throughout the beautiful country of Nepal. I have also used this company to accompany me on the Appalachian Trail. One time I became extremely ill during one of my travels in Nepal, no fault of the company. They cared for me over several days of my sickness and coordinated my evacuation. They never left my side and went way beyond what anyone would ever expect. They saved my life. During all my travels with them, they coordinate food, hotels, tea houses, and transportation. They meet you at the airport no matter the arrival time and help with all your luggage. Any activity will be arranged. You get 5-star service at a reasonable cost. I feel fortunate to have been introduced to this company because they allow me to envision a dream vacation, and then Imperial Expeditions implements it within my budget.
