I have driven >200k mile cars my whole life, so I'm very familiar with the inside of auto shops. I have found that between reliability, affordability, and technical competence, you can generally only pick two. I have gone to Jackson's Master auto for three big jobs in the past year and they consistently displayed all three. When a manufacturer sent a faulty part, John went above and beyond to make sure I didn't get screwed. Great people to work with.

Every time I have called or came in, John has been extremely friendly and professional. He is always upfront and honest when diagnosing and recommending what to do. He has even recommended others when he feels they could the job quicker or easier. This is always my go to repair shop, because I know I will get a quick and honest answer anytime I go.

I agree with all these awesome reviews! John and his team are great to work with! I've just started working with them and am very happy with the quality and value of the services I've received. I went to them for a pre-purchase inspection before buying a used vehicle and I'm so glad I did! I've also gone to them to replace the battery on my used vehicle and now everything is in tip top shape for me to enjoy my new (new to me) car!

John is the best honest mechanic I know. He is my go to when I have any issues with my car. They happened to be closed and I took my car to another shop and let me tell you patience is a virtue. The whole is always A1 super attentive and don't play games my go to for car repairs. Thx John and team!

I really liked this place, but now there are new owners. They were nice and professional but tried to upsell me $3,000 on mostly preventative services. The previous owner was more realistic and took the time acknowledge that people have budgets and try to help you decide what could wait and what needed attention soon. It just made me feel like this was any generic mechanic, just trying to get every penny they can out of you.

John and his team are the absolute BEST in the business. I have been going here since I first got my license and will never go anywhere else (and I now live a bit far and am willing to travel). They are so honest, trustworthy and quick. You can always count on them to fit you in their schedule and take care of your vehicle as if it was their own. I encourage anyone to go here for all of your car maintenance needs. Truly an amazing shop. On top of it all, they are so kind and customer service is outstanding. Thank you John and team, for all you do!

I have been taking my cars into master auto repair for years, and continue to experience great customer service with the new ownership. The communication and willingness to work within your budget has been amazing, and will continue to choose Eric’s master auto repair for my future needs.

Please be advised that John Jackson no longer owns and operates this business. John was always respectful of me and my finances. He would let you know what was a necessary repair and what could wait, and his prices were always in the low side of average. The new owners do not operate the same way. I brought my car in for one repair and they called me with a long list of other repairs they said it needed. No context, nothing broken down, just that for everything it would be $1000. I only authorized them to do the repair I had brought it in for, for which they quoted me $100 more than what I was expecting from my research. If I had not been eager to get the repair done I would have brought it somewhere else. The only positives I will say is the repair is now done and they offered to drop me off at work and picked me back up when the repairs were done. I would rather pay for an Uber and have a mechanic I trust. I will not be using this shop anymore.

I had to be what I believed was a bad starter. I called and first spoke to Mike who informed me that if I wanted to tow my car to their shop they would perform a diagnostic test for $59.99 to see if it was the starter or wiring related. I towed my car there and was told I'd hear from them the next day. The shop opened at 8:00 a.m. and I didn't hear from anybody for hours, so I called at 11:00. They said "they're working on your car now, I'll call you back in a few minutes." 4 hours later, 3pm (shop closes at 5:00) the reception lady, Pam, called me back and listed off 20 things to be done to my car that they found in their "33-point inspection" that I never asked to have done to my car. She proceeded to quote me over $5,000 for full vehicle repair, definitely not. I then asked about the cost breakdown because a starter replacement for my vehicle shouldn't be more than $4-500 TOPS-- like at all. Parts AND labor. Pam said that it would be $871 for a starter replacement, a negative battery connector, and a new battery. Insane, if you know you know. I told her I wasn't going to be using them for service but that I would pay for the diagnostic test. She then tried to charge me $129 for the inspection I didn't ask for. After telling her that I spoke to Mike and he had already priced me at $59.99, that that's all I was willing to pay. She said, "Who did you speak to? Oh...okay ..... I guess I can change that." ALL SAID AND DONE, I went to AutoZone, got myself a new battery and a negative connector, changed both myself in 10 minutes, and my car is driving perfectly fine and it cost me under $150. They were going to try to charge me for a starter that I DIDNT EVEN NEED without even testing the car from the bottom up i.e battery-connectors- AND THEN literally anything else. Say the shop is hurting without saying it. Terrible service by Pam who wouldn't answer any questions as to why the pricing was so incredibly high for a 60-100$ part and 15mins taking off two bolts and sliding a starter in and out.The starter is so easy to change on my make and model- the only reason I brought it to them in the first place was because it was 100° out and I didn't have ramps at the time. HARD PASS.

This place is great. It is your quintessential neighborhood shop, and everyone is always very nice. They took care of me right away twice in a pinch, once for a nail in my tire and another time for a quick odometer & VIN inspection. The won my business by assessing my specific situations (both quick fixes) and not needlessly making me wait all day. Highly recommend.

Best automotive service in south city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you need a loaner car or if you prefer they can pick you up and when your car is ready come and get you. Not many local places offer this service. The mechanics are very thorough and let you know what needs to be repaired sooner or later. It's just a suggestion, doesn't mean you have to do it right then and there. I prefer to know what is needed and can schedule it when I can afford it. They don't pressure you at all. Overall I've been going to them since they opened for business and find them very reliable and helpful especially when I need help right away. I trust them and they do a superb job every time along with 2 shops which means one way or another they can get me in quicker. Big Shout out to Shawn, Pam, Eric, and Pat for being such fantastic people. It's a family owned local business and I love supporting local in our community.

I couldn’t be happier with the service I received at Eric’s Auto Repair Shop. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with professionalism, honesty, and a clear commitment to customer satisfaction. Eric and his team are not only highly skilled but also take the time to explain what’s going on with your vehicle in a way that’s easy to understand—no pressure, no upselling, just honest advice. The repairs were done on time and at a fair price. My car runs better than it has in years! It’s clear that Eric takes great pride in his work and values his customers. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, efficient, and friendly auto repair shop, look no further than Eric’s. Highly recommended!

Eric’s Master Auto Repair is hands down the best auto shop I’ve been to in a long time! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the entire environment is spotless. You can tell they take real pride in their work and their space. I was in and out faster than I expected, and the service was top-notch. Best of all, the pricing was completely fair and no surprises or upselling, just honest work at a great rate. I highly recommend either of their locations on Flyer or Hampton Ave. You really can’t go wrong!

I've been to Eric's Master Auto Repair twice, for myself and for a friend. Both times I found the experience quite satisfactory. Joe and Gavin are professional and take the time to explain their recommendations, distinguishing between the necessary and the suggested. I'll become a regular, although hopefully just for oil changes and not major fixes. :)

Although we have only recently required their services, this is the best auto repair shop that we have used. Both our cars needed extensive repairs within a month due to 'check engine light' issues, and they made the repair process as transparent and professional as possible. Joe, Pam, Gavin, and Amy offered clear diagnostic explanations, and distinguished between essential and recommended repair options, which the latter was included on each invoice as a reminder for future service. Additionally, I cannot remember our cars running this well, since we drove them from the dealer lot, especially our older car. It had engine misfires, and a nagging oil leak that they quickly diagnosed and explained the costs. So glad we found their shop, and we look forward to them keeping our cars running for as long as possible.

Eric’s Auto Repair is one of the best experiences Ive ever gad. They did a thorough examination of my car and clearly explained what needed attention. What I really appreciated was that Gavin suggested repairs that fit within my budget for now, without any pressure to do everything at once. Gavin is incredibly informative and responsive, always taking the time to answer my questions and make sure I understand what’s going on. The whole experience felt honest, professional, and easy from start to finish. Highly recommend stopping by if you want great service and genuine care for your car!

I cannot tell you enough how excellent these mechanics are. I really enjoy this store. You can see Eric and his team take great pride in making their place look very clean (especially in the auto bays), and you can tell from their enjoyment and professionalism that the mechanics are always well-trained on the latest in auto repair. It’s a family-owned business and I see he does a lot of cop cars, so you know they are doing an excellent job every time! They don’t try to sneak stuff into prices or try to add on unnecessary jobs, and I feel confident in their prices, which are nicely competitive. They don’t talk down to anyone either, and will explain things in layman’s terms so you feel comfortable and well-informed. I’ve had everything from oil changes up to all the 100,000 mile stuff including changing the 3(!) timing belts. It was an extensive, multi-hour job that they did flawlessly. I’ve also had pretty much every major fluid flush, spark plugs replaced, and everything has always been excellent. They always go the extra step and do little touches like resetting the oil monitor, or setting the display to the tire pressures after they remounted a leaking tire for me to show me they’re aired up,m. They also did the air pressure when the tires were cold, not warm, so the tires won’t give you the dreaded low tire pressure light in the winter. (See, very nice touch!) They also did the tire sensor relearn for free that two other places said they did but didn’t. I can’t tell you enough, go to this family establishment. You will become a lifelong customer!
