I'm 35 years old and live in Virginia Beach all my life. I bought a 2004 Corolla from Checkered Flag and went to their service department for a few years until they tried to pressure me into buying break pads I didn't need during a routine oil change. Since then, I've gone exclusively to Mark and his son at Jim's Home Auto Service II. For over 15 years, my parents have gone there. My sister goes there. I have known Mark for over 30yrs doing mechanical work on all types of vehicles. They are the most trust worth mechanics I have ever met. I owned automobile dealerships also and he did all our work. Retired now , and family and friends still use. Only open one and sometime two Saturdays a month , which is no problem. They will work with you. I made a terrible mistake when my AC on my Excursion went out on a Saturday and took to Midas on Holland Rd and they did the parts elimination job. ...keep putting parts on till they get lucky. They kept my truck for almost two weeks and messed whole system up and didn't even put back together and bill was almost $1200.00. What a rip off place. Thank you.

They are good people taking care of our vehicles goes over 30 years. Mark is up on anything you need done, or if you just need inspection. Just got inspection done, and my truck has free inspections where I bought it. I would rather pay him to do it than getting it done free from a dealership. Keep treating people right. My truck is a 2014 Ram.

These guys are amazingly honest and helpful. Last summer, I had them check over our SUV before we took a family road trip. Then, the day before we left on said road trip, my driver's side window mechanics broke - something just snapped inside the door, and the window no longer worked! I immediately called Jim's and explained, and they knew we were heading out of town the next day, and they were not only able to get the parts needed and complete the repair same day for us, but they also charged us less than originally quoted because "it went really easily, so it didn't feel right to charge for that much." That's just one example. They're always honest and knowledgeable. I tried a few other local shops recommended by friends, and I always end up back at Jim's.

I am a woman and my husband who since retired from the military. So I was very concerned about dealing with the dealers when he was out to sea.
