I shopped at the Sterling location today & found all but 1 check out lane open. Thank God cause with 2 Kroger's Stores closed here in Peoria the Parking was ridiculous there (as always), but the in store traffic was even worse. Now yesterday I shopped at the Lake & Sheridan Kroger's Store & I suppose due to the expected snowfall & drivers advisory the parking there was at its worst, but the Check out lanes were unbelievably ridiculous. There were few lanes open yet customers back to back. We were in lines that ran up & down aisles as well as blocking aisles as well. The check out lanes that were open were being ran by the slowest & oldest cashiers I think they had on payroll. The only choice we had was to drop everything & start over at another Store, with your fingers crossed of course. Thank You! I'm so glad there was a way to share the feelings of many Regular Kroger Shoppers like myself. Since you closed 2 stores forcing those loyal customers into that, that's more convenient, it needs to be recognized that more may need to be hired & trained properly to handle the new influx of shoppers!

I use to shop here often i find myself avoiding this store for several reasons. Cleanliness, variety , and now i can add the bakery. Last 3 times i have picked something up different each time from the bakery to try. I visited yesterday and picked up a peach pie from the bakery it is now in the trash. Worst pie i ever had thick tasteless crust, sour peach mush for the filling. Grossss

This Kroger on Sterling is nasty dirty, the lines are always backed up into the store. I have know choice but to use this store cause I live across the street and am a disabled Veteran and can’t walk. I use a wheelchair and this store is convenient but I hate using it because it’s disgusting. This Kroger is so under staffed!!!!

Kroger's has gotten better than it used to be. I can get all my items I need at a good price. David in Produce does a great job keeping items stocked and clean. I hope the whole produce takes pride in there work as he does. Overall I see a positive attitude from the employees as they have gotten rid of the higher ups riff raff. It can be a stressful job. But most of them do a fantastic job. So I'm rating it 5 stars now as I know they are trying hard. There are still a few that have been there awhile that need to be retrained. But that number is getting lower. Keep up the good work in this unusual time. God bless you all.

An all around awful experience at this store, DAYLON is an incompetent employee that will ring up any kind of fruit instead of looking that I had the sale apples .99/lb. Told her which ones I had & she still input the incorrect apple. I was overcharged. Also, had to ask her to ring me up as she completely ignores you when standing there, because she was so busy texting, cackling/laughing so hard with other employees-VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. FILTHY STORE INSIDE & OUT, NASTY RESTROOMS. Awful & ignorant low-class employees sorry to say! Anything more than a 2 star review is from employees & family members. 1 & 2 star ratings here are the ones you should read because they are spot on!!! I only dared to go in due to location & Aldi's & WalMart not having what I wanted.

What is going on with this store? It is consistently dirty. Yesterday the freezers were sweating? I wanted to buy bacon and sausage, but warm to the touch? So I did not. For the amount of traffic..customers you have,and you only have 2 cashiers?? So sad..

I had a bad experience with a cashier at the sterling location today October 3. She was upset about something. She was cursing and just throwing my groceries as she scanned them. This is the 2nd time I've had a terrible experience with this Kroger on Sterling I will not go to this Kroger again. The service is terrible and the products are not up to standard. I will go out of my way to a Kroger that gives better service.

If you've been to this store, I don't even need to explain how disgusting some of the things look, but I sent my daughter's dad to get some meat to cook on the grill, as I'm cutting my chicken breasts in half I found worms all in my chicken breasts. This was my last straw, will never go back to this store. I did not take pictures before I threw it away.

Visited on the 1st. Competent management would have staffed accordingly. Only 3 self checkout lanes and dude watching over them was a JERK! Kroger card Alternate ID wouldn’t work but I was told I didn’t know my number. Then when I corrected my issue he lied about the cart of groceries. DO NOT LIE.

This is a terrible store. It is extremely dirty. The bathroom is disgusting with no toilet paper or towels and it is where employees are supposed to wash their hands. The entire store smells bad. Some of the employees also smelled rank. Unlike other Kroger stores, the produce is rotten. Shelves are not well stocked. The parking lot is dangerous. There is a lot of potential here with management that cares and if there was an adequately number of workers.

Destiney who was one of the store self check out workers gave me an attitude today and poor customer service. I told her she didn’t have to come to work if she was going to have a bad attitude today. She yelled at me and said she didn’t care and today was her last day. I spoke with the manager and come to find out, today wasn’t her last day. Very rude employee and she needs to be fired for mistreating customers. I’ve never had this experience with an employee before.

I refuse to believe this store has that high of a rating. It's honestly impressive how terrible this place is. The worst part are the employees. At least at the front end, they get paid to just stand and do nothing. When I go in there are never any regular check outs open, only self checkouts, so if you have an entire cart full of groceries, good luck. It's astonishing too, to see when people are struggling at the self checkouts, that the employees do NOTHING to intervene. They just sit and watch people struggle, they can't even be bothered to get people into an organized line. They would rather just watch everyone get pissed off and fend for themselves. It's been this way for years so I doubt anything will ever change with this awful store.

Kroger has permanently closed this location. Very unhappy as now I have to go across town or to a different town to shop at Kroger. The closest location is near two other grocery stores, so may decide to go there instead.

It is 1230 on 2-23-2024. There is a line in the self checkout 6 people deep because the u Scan attendant is just chatting away and not paying attention to people who cannot continue without her authorizing the continued checkout. If your gonna make us scan our own groceries at least have the u scan attendant pay attention to what's going on so it's not taking each person 10 minutes of waiting just to continue checking out

If there is a way I could write a review and not mark any stars. I WOULD! Went to get gas. Listed price was $3.59 a gallon. I had 30 cents off per gallon. Went back to the pump still had $3.59 and did not drop to $3.29. Went back to cashier and told him what was going on. And he said he was in the process of raising prices up yet nothing had been changed on the signs or the pumps. COMPLETELY GOT RIPPED OFF OF A CHEAPER PRICE PER GALLON. WILL NOT GO BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After I went through the checkout today I realized I had been overcharged about $30. I had a Link card to pay for the food and a debit card for non food items. The cashier lied to me about using the Link card and deducted everything from my debit card which would cause an overdraft on my bank account. I went to customer service and had them cancel the first transaction and check everything out again using the Link card. And my debit card- for a lower amount. I was told it may take 2-3 days before the cancelled transaction and credit will be on my account. I will be calling the bank Monday.. No apologies from the cashier. He walked away. I had a large order and was very angry when I left the store. Always carefully check your receipts. . .

This store is closing, 50-75 percent off, not much left got milk 1/2 gal .89, pulled pork tubs $ 4.89, Hummus yummy. Sports bars, lots of cake decorating stuff, got me a ice cream cake, $16.00, reg $32.00. no soda, or veggies, no bread, about 3 isles if that. Good luck.

This store is awful. Yesterday was the last straw. The produce section is horrible. There's literally rotting foods on the shelves. We wanted lettuce for salads and almost all were past the use by date. It was the evening of December 26, and many expired salad packs from Dec 21-24. And some expiring dec 26. Stuff with expiration dates will in the past wasn't even marked down unless it looked like it was actively rotting. Some salad packs had lettuce liquefying and rotting. We wanted to get sweet onions and the only sweet onions were squishy and rotten. Onions keep for many weeks, so these must have been months old. We bought garlic that appeared to look ok from the outside, however, there were rotting and moldy cloves inside. I've never seen garlic with moldy cloves. They had rotten tomatoes with wrinkled skin and mold. When I got home the onions we bought looked very old and past their prime when I cut into them. Overall the store was extremely dirty and picked over. The back corner near where the dairy items are smelled the absolute worst like a dumpster full of garbage in the summer sun. The meat and seafood area also looked dirty and had unappetizing smells. I'm not even sure the foods are safe coming from Kroger unless they are prepackaged and filled with preservatives. I wouldn't trust anything sold at this store that isn't shelf stable. Edit: when I was at this store i needed to pic up some melatonin supplements. They were buy one get one, so I got two. I opened one right away, however, I went to open the second bottle and now I see the seal was already opened and the contents appeared to have been tampered with. KROGER SELLS UNSAFE PHARMACY ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN TAMPERED WITH, THE HAVE LITERAL ROTTING FOODS ON THE SHELVES AND THE STORE SMELLS LIKE A DUMPSTER. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
