I took my avalanche in cause I was having trouble with the ignition, I thought I need a new switch. I was told that I would need to take it to the dealership, but we couldn't get it to turn, I went home and they played with it for awhile. I later got a text message letting me know that they could fix and how much it would cost, I was so happy to get my truck back and it didn't cost me as much as I was told it would cost. I will be bringing my truck back for all my mechanical needs. Thank you for fixing her and getting it back to me so fast.

The guys at Lake City Auto Care are always very friendly and nice to deal with. They recently replaced the water pump, timing belt, tensioner, and coolant in our Honda Pilot. They got the work done quickly and for the price quoted us. They also did a thorough inspection of the vehicle and gave us input on things they found but were not at all pushy about them doing the work. We plan to continue doing business there and recommend them.

Superb!!! We are traveling from Arizona and a headlight went out. The wonderful manager, Robert Davis, told us to come right in. He fixed it on the spot for a very fair price. We chatted a bit. He is clearly a man of integrity and an expert mechanic. Coeur d’Alene is fortunate to have this garage. Could not possibly give a higher recommendation.

Edited to add: their response further proves what an awful company they are and that they most likely did mess with my car. I deleted my previous review because I have much more that needs to be said. I brought my car here on 7/1/25 because my AC went out. They claimed to have done a full inspection on my vehicle and came back with over $8,000 worth of repairs needing done, the big one being to replace my timing chain and gear set. They also claimed to have recharged my AC but that there was leak at the seam so it ended up being worse than when I first brought it in. On top of that, I never even received a phone call from them explaining what they found. I declined all jobs and a week later my car would no longer start. I ended up having to get it towed to the Nissan dealer and two months later, they were able to get it started again. (They did not have my car the entire time it wouldn’t start. They were a last resort) They also did a full inspection and what they found was that my engine was filthy and there were no signs anyone ever looked at it (no fingerprints, smudges in the dirt, nothing). Also my muffler was barely hanging on but Lake City somehow didn’t notice. The only thing they found needing repaired was my AC of course and an idler pulley. I will give Lake City credit for including the idler pulley on their list of repairs but as for the other 12 jobs they included, I’m not quite sure what happened. I ended up paying Lake City over $300 for me to leave in worse condition than I brought it in and when I asked for a refund they responded with “our time is valuable”. With that being said, DO NOT trust Lake City Auto Care in CDA, they will try to scam you. Especially if you’re a woman or someone that doesn’t know much about cars, just beware.

We came in looking for a reliable extra large suv for our very large powwow family needs! & were lucky enough to find it on the first try! Test drive went smoothly & everything worked great that we tested & AC & lights needed some fine tuning which was done on the spot & ready to roll off the lot 100% ours & we were beyond pleased with the overall experience. Maybe not a good idea to spam text everyone in the 208 community. Edit: reply from business owner, “At least have the stones to use a first and last name.” the reply alone from the business owner should tell you 100% not to do business here. We don’t get a, “we’re sorry, we’ll try to be more selective with our advertising,” instead we get a threat. You apparently got my phone number already, why do you need my full name? Keep it up bud, that’s a great way to lose all current and future customers. Give me a more friendly review response aligning closer with “the customer is always right” and I’ll consider updating my review

Cannot recommend them enough. Top shelf care and service. THEY ACTUALLY CARED. The service manager was engaged and understanding of my needs and concerns. They made the effort to squeeze me in during their peak season on the fly (which is a 10/10 in my book!). Everything about Lake City was positive. They went above and beyond including me following up the next day about a non related issue. You will not find a better auto shop in the CDA area. 10/10 would recommend.

Took my Honda CRV in for A/C evaporator repair after receiving a quote that beat the dealership (who may or may not have broken it) by a couple hundred dollars. The staff are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable and the repair went above and beyond excellent. A loaner vehicle was also included which is top tier service and very convenient. An oil change was recommended after vehicle inspection revealed the oil to be low and dirty. Price was fair and again, service was excellent. A complete breakdown of recommended services and repairs was also provided after they looked over the whole vehicle which will help me plan out future maintenance that will help me keep my Honda on the road for a very long time. 5/5 stars. More if I could. :)

Originally brought my truck in to get a misfire code diagnosed after suspecting a bad cam and lifters (an unfortunately common issue on these trucks). They stated they tested coils, plugs and injector pulse but still recommended replacing the injectors. I decided to replace the single injector myself to help narrow down before replacing all 8. When the problem persisted I called back to let them know and request a quote on a new cam and set of lifters. I was immediately met with defense and argument. - “No way it’s bad lifters compression check was normal!”(Compression check will diagnose sealing issues, which won’t be a problem if valves aren’t opening) - “well I told you to replace all 8 injectors!” (I was planning on doing that if I discovered that replacing one solved the misfire) - “Well it’s possible the one you installed was bad. Bring it in and we’ll test them” (you already said you tested the injectors) - “There’s no way you have a bad cam and lifters on only 177K miles.” (I’ve seen guys get this job done at 75k. It’s a common problem on this motor.) I think they were just mad that I replaced an injector without them which I understand. You have to pay your employees. But dude, I’m trying to give you a probably $5-7000 cam and lifters job and you just want to argue and flex your knowledge. They also had the truck for an additional 2 days to do a brake flush and it never even got completed. 3 days without my main source of transportation and nothing to show. Obviously took my business elsewhere. Not worth dealing with the ego trip these guys are on. Turns out it was a bad lifter, cam and a broken valves. I’m sure if all you need is an oil change or some minor mechanical work, these guys are capable, but wouldn’t take them something that needs anything more extensive.
