My car broke down on the road tonight. My insurance company sent Lansing Towing & Recovery service to assist me. I've had quite a few tows over the years & I was impressed by Freddy, the truck driver. He was by far the most efficient, skilled and professional driver I've had help me.

Very professional and very quick. Spoke with their call center/dispatcher and she was very informative and helpful. I was alone on the side of 96, Jacob let me wait in the tow truck while he took care of the vehicle. Felt safe and comfortable and would not hesitate to use them again if the need ever arises.

The driver spoke to me when hearrived and was mentioning how AAA doesn’t pay much at all then decides to mention it’s gonna be a cash call 😂 go to H&H towing they will go above and beyond to help you instead… thank me later. These guys are money hungry and don’t want to help

Extremely Concerning Experience I was dispatched to Lansing Towing through AAA for a simple tow less than a 4 miles. What happened instead was extremely concerning. I placed 3-4 tow requests in one day for the same vehicle. All three were assigned to Lansing Towing. Not one AAA covered tow was completed, yet all three requests were counted against my membership. Each time a driver arrived, the first thing mentioned, before positioning the truck or preparing equipment, was that it would need to be a cash call while he was communicating w dispatch. The quotes went from $140, to $120, to $100. The reasons for refusing the AAA tow changed each time: • First visit: plate issue • Second visit: registration • Third visit: driver unaware of issue stating it must be cash and that he’s just following orders from dispatch Each time I corrected what was mentioned, a new issue was introduced on the next visit. What stood out most: • Drivers parked away from the vehicle instead of setting up to tow. • Private payment was discussed immediately upon arrival. • Requirements were not clearly communicated before dispatch. • All three calls were used without service being completed. When I asked one of the drivers what exactly was required so this would not continue happening, he stated he was “just following dispatch orders.” I also contacted dispatch myself, and before I could fully explain the situation, he knew who I was by me simply stating the car that I was calling about, he right away mentioned that it would be a cash call without even listening to what I had to say or my situation This created a pattern where AAA service appeared to be redirected toward private payment instead of being properly evaluated under membership coverage. I have used AAA and other tow providers before and have never experienced anything like this. This resulted in an entire work day lost and my annual tow benefits exhausted for one vehicle. I strongly believe this situation deserves review by AAA regarding how this provider handles dispatched calls. I also have recordings of the tow truck drivers being clueless when I was asking why they aren’t able to tow, they couldn’t give me a reason just kept finding something new each time mentioning they are just following orders. they sent ppl to try and take advantage of somebody in a desperate situation instead of simply helping they changed a 10 min / 4mile tow into a whole day and hours of waiting. I honestly have never had my whole day wasted like that before it’s very sad how some businesses try to take advantage more than they’d like to help. All of my triple A requests were used on this car all 4 requests in 1 day they come out just to tell me it will be a cash call, but not once were they able to tell me what I need to be able to tow it when I asked multiple times on recording instead their goal was to just charge me extra not to help a customer. Very Surprised Triple A has that company working w them while they’re trying to pocket $140 extra from desperate students and refusing to tow until getting extra $$. I believe the dispatches name started w an A.. maybe Anthony but everyone working there is so unprofessional honestly makes me sad

AAA Needs to Investigate This Provider. I genuinely do not understand how this company is AAA certified. My brother and I were dispatched to this tow company through AAA for what should have been a routine tow. Instead, I went through three separate dispatches in one day for the same vehicle, and not one AAA-covered tow was completed. Each time a driver arrived, the first thing mentioned, before preparing the truck or properly evaluating the vehicle, was that it would be a cash call. The price started at $140, then dropped to $120, then $100. The reason for refusing the AAA tow changed each time. What raised serious concerns was dispatch involvement. When we called dispatch to explain the situation, before we could even finish explaining, they immediately told me it would be extra and that they could “work with me” on a price. That conversation focused on payment before clarifying eligibility. If documentation was required, that could have been clearly communicated before dispatching drivers. Instead, three separate trips were made, three requests were used, and each time private payment was discussed first. All three calls were handled by the same company and same dispatch. The pattern was consistent. I have used AAA in the past and never experienced anything like this. This situation was so frustrating that it genuinely made me reconsider my membership. AAA should seriously review this provider’s dispatch and service practices. Members rely on AAA in stressful situations, but Lansing towing instead takes advantage of these desperate struggling customers by pocketing extra cash from whoever is desperate. The experience I had did not reflect the level of service AAA advertises. I could’ve spent the money on an actual tow company instead of having triple A yearly “just in case” ..I didn’t realize triple A allows others to openly scam you otherwise I wouldn’t have had the membership

Avoid Lansing Towing at all costs. I had multiple AAA tow requests, and even after a triple A supervisor specifically noted on the request not to dispatch Lansing Towing, they still kept getting assigned — six times in total. I also tried speaking to dispatch but he was super unprofessional and was the reason why all this was happening.. After the very first time I refused service, dispatch put notes randomly accusing me of “fraud,” and putting false things in the comments so I have trouble with future requests, which a driver admitted to me directly while I was voice recording. These accusations were false and made it harder for me to get help at the time. On a previous request, they even marked that they arrived and that I wasn’t there, but they never called and never showed up. Since AAA requests count against you, that caused even more problems until I was able to have a supervisor investigate/ WATCH the requests and noticed what I was experiencing. I got all my requests back and there is now an investigation opened but all that time I went through is pretty unfortunate and it would suck for somebody else to go through all that I went through due to them not able to get it changed to a cash call and get $140 from me. It honestly felt like they were trying to make things difficult on purpose, possibly to push the situation into a cash tow instead. Very unprofessional experience and extremely frustrating to deal with. I recommend staying FAR away from Lansing Towing, I recommend PJs instead

This towing company is phenomenal! I can’t give enough praise to Sonic. Yes, that’s his real name. He came to my rescue today after I tried to arrange something with another tow company yesterday. Needless to say, after three hours today of waiting, I turned to Lansing Towing. I hadn’t eaten lunch yet and it was near 2 pm. After he did the lockout, I said I was going to the restroom and would be right out. I joked maybe he’d have the car hooked up by then. He did and was ready to roll. From the first call to the drop off spot around 27 miles away, Sonic made it happen efficiently, timely and friendly. I’ll definitely be calling them again! They were reasonably priced considering I had a lockout, jump and tow done. Thanks Lansing Towing!!🌺👏

No one is ever ready to be stuck on the side of the road, but these guys made it the least stressful experience possible! They showed up super fast and were friendly and professional from the start. HUGE thank you to Jacob for saving the day and making the 50-something-mile cruise to my mechanic comfortable - such a pleasant and personable guy! 12/10 - would absolutely recommend!!
