Macs auto is my best place for car repair services but recently I don't know what's going on with the business. The owner should try and employ more mechanics for the business, recently you send your car there and takes a long weeks and days before you will be attended, seems only 1 mechanic is available working...Please owner do something about this.This shop use to be fastest repair shop and even walk in service on minor issues...Please owner do something before you lose your customers...thanks

Awesome service. We had a minor issue with our car starting before we headed home from out of town. We got it running but stopped by just in case. The owner took a look at everything to ease our angst before we hit the road.

I took my car here knowing I had a wheel bearing issue. Told me I needed new tires and that I was wrong, sometimes bad tires make a “grinding” noise. As soon as I left the lot it was still grinding. Took it to a different shop and who would’ve thought? The young dumb girl was right, she needed new bearings and a arms …. Do not go here if you’re a young woman. I know for a fact they did not look at my bearings or they would have seen the threads to them were shredded. They did not listen to me and costed me more in the long run.

My wife's equinox was stalling and dying on way to work. Called Macs got us in same day, had car fixed and ready to go b4 lunch. Dident charge an arm and a leg, young guys were very knowledgeable. I'll be back for cheaper/faster oil changes in the future to. Thank you guys

I had called around noon for a thermostat replacement and they got me in and out same day which was very appreciated. They did quality work and kept me up to date the whole time. The pricing was also reasonable. 10/10 would recommend, great job.

I’ve spent thousands with these “kids” and have never had any issues. All the one stars are literal old people that are on the verge and are just mad they couldn’t do it themselves and had to spend real $$ for real quality. They’ve always been understanding about payments and timing concerns, wouldn’t trust any other shop and you shouldn’t either!

Expensive and ran by kids wanted to charge $100 to mount and balance tires onto my rim. Nobody was at register representative was confused and had to Pace between office and work bay to ask prices. I've used them before only for small projects when something breaks and I need a quick fix will now be outsourcing to prevent the showcase of Idiocracy

Stay away from this place. Price changed 4 times and when we asked why the price went up again the lady at the front started cursing us out in front of our son. All we were having done was front breaks and they tried to charge almost 600 dollars. The young man ( mechanic) fixed the price. They would be lost without him. It’s like walking into the projects of Cleveland with the disrespect and cursing bc they did not like hearing the price changes several times. God Help them.

Should have read the reviews before I brought my car there. I agree with the other customer. I took my car there and not only did they change their price on me, but they make appointments and then you wait almost a half hour for the shop to open. They are way over priced, inconsiderate of other people’s time and I also noticed that they treat people differently. Some could actually argue that they are prejudiced. Beware if you live in the area and need car work done, if you are not rich you might want to go elsewhere.

I've always found this place to do good work at a fair price. In fact, I took my VW Jetta in two years ago to get the AC system repaired, and when it was not blowing cold last summer, they fixed it up again and did not charge me. I don't think the fix was super involved but they didn't charge me a dime, and I really appreciated that. It blew cold all summer long. My car is about due for some clutch repairs too, and I feel confident about taking it to Mac's. After they diagnosed the problem (for no cost), the lady who runs the front actually brought my car back to me and let me drop her back off at the shop because I didn't have a ride that afternoon. I felt like that was exceptional service. The old man who sits in the lobby always tells me my baby is cute, too, which no one ever minds hearing :)

I went to this shop a few times before and had good service little pricey but good service. My front brakes were leaking brake fluid so called them and asked for an appointment to take my car in. I dropped my car off Friday morning 12/06/24. As I walked into the business to hand them my keys and let them know what was going on. There was a bunch of business associates in the lobby talking/ having a meeting. I tried to explain to Brandon what was wrong with my vehicle, and I felt like he really wasn't listening to what I was trying to explain to him. I asked him so you will call before you start working on the vehicle and give me an estimate on how much it will cost, he assured me that I would be contacted and given an estimate before anything is done so I went home and waited for the call. They called later that afternoon, and I was unable to answer due to work and left a brief voicemail saying to give them a call back. I followed up with a phone call on 12/7/24 and again spoke with Brandon he said we are looking at it right now and will give you a call back here shortly let you know how much it's going to be no call all Saturday .the business is closed Sunday so Monday morning my wife has off work so I had her take me up there to see what was going on. I walked into the business Monday morning 12/09/24 and asked about the car told him my name he said we don't have your car, oh never mind I messed up and put you under somebody else's account. the car is done it's going to be $806. I've personally never been to a business that just goes ahead and works on a vehicle without giving some estimate to a customer. I honestly don't even think that's legal. I will never do any business with this company again very unprofessional in so many aspects of this whole encounter.

Fixed a difficult issue I was having with my car and price was fair! Best price for foreign cars around. My car now drives like I just bought it brand new. Customer service is awesome. Chris and Chandra are awesome. Treated me genuinely and fast. Skip the dealerships and go to Mac's Auto Repair & Towing in Sheffield Lake. Best repair shop ! I my name behind that.

The guy who supposedly runs this place is a poor excuse for a business man. We called looking for a mechanic, tow truck guy answered the phone and was rude to my husband. We took our business elsewhere. Then this guy proceeds to call me a liar, rather than rectifying the situation like a good business would do. Instead he insulted and called names like a child. I HIGHLY recommend staying away from this place, based off my interaction with the owner, he is not deserving of your business nor is he kind and extremely rude and will laugh at you. There are PLENTY of places to take your vehicle where you will be treated right, this is not one of them. Update to this guys response…calling me a liar he doesn’t even read what people write. Says I don’t live in Ohio LOL I’ve lived in Sheeffield for the last 3 years and I never stated I called at 6pm, I stated my husband called regarding repairs to our car MONTHS ago, not the day I called him out for being RUDE to my husband on the phone. It had zero to do with an oil change. I am not affiliated with or know anyone with Costa Oil but you should definitely check them out as they are the cheapest oil change locally to Sheffield Lake, and are professional, unlike this guy. He is not professional by any stretch of the imagination, and is EXTREMELY rude to people, all these bad reviews here just confirm that truth, with the common denominator being him barking back at people for calling out his lack of professionalism. Avoid this sorry excuse for a “business” at all costs.

I am so thankful for this location. Here's a breakdown of the situation I was experiencing today: I live about an hour away from Avon Lake. I was visiting friends in the area for Christmas. When closing my trunk this morning, the hydraulic trunk extender locked up and when I closed my trunk the metal bar snapped off and then broke the casing of my taillight. So I needed to do 2 things: 1) Remove the nuts attaching the trunk extender to the body of the car. 2) Ultimately schedule a repair for that part and the taillight casing. Without hesitation, the store manager grabbed his tool followed me to the car .... took off the 2 nuts so that my trunk would close and sent me on my way. Thank you Mac's
