I dented someone’s side door in a slow-speed (like < 5 mph) impact - the damage was squarely on the front left door. This person went to Marcell’s for an appraisal. This person does not speak much English or understand how things work, and Marcell’s tried to take advantage. They quoted an outrageous fee that involved repairs to TWO doors, the fender, and the side panel. They then called me, extremely pushy and combative, claiming that my insurance would not cover this (not true) and saying I needed to pay up otherwise the costs will keep rising as they hold onto the car and the car owner racks up rental charges. What they didn’t realize is that I know the car owner personally. I called the car owner to say this is insane, do not let them keep your car, and please follow the standard protocol of having my insurance (which absolutely covers this) do an inspection. Luckily we were able to get away from Marcell's without paying a dime.

The owner is disrespectful and a pain to work with, the employees are great. Homalo helped me the best he could without jeopardizing his job. The first time there were fish eyes and dust and a new dent above my drivers door handle, Marcell was confrontational immediately and lied to me about auto body processes.(I have gone to school as mechanic and auto body and he knew that). He took the car back unwillingly and his guys buffed and fixed it, but the dent they made on driver door is still there, and a few spots of imperfections but mostly good, then someone wiped it down and made scratches with a dirty towel because they should not have tried to wash it as it needs a protecting spray otherwise the dust you are wiping off will make small spiderweb scratches all over. Marcell was very rude immediately and told me to get gone over the phone. Overall terrible business owner who felt the need to lie to someone who knows what they are talking about after giving them the wrong service and bad service. Apparently if I paid 8,000$ instead of 3150$ he would’ve gotten it perfect and stripped the paint off from a prior shops bad job like I asked him to, but could he really have done that for more than double?
