I don't know where to begin with this. I brought two front bearings to be machined, since my usual repair shop did not have the equipment to do that. When I arrived, they offered to do that, and to do the whole job of replacing the car's wheel bearings and axles for $150, about $50 less than I was quoted at the other shop. Of course, I agreed. When it was done, the price skyrocketed to $250, all in cash (they do not accept cards). In addition, the owner/repairman informed me that the ABS was no longer working because of the repair, and that both front ABS sensors needed to be replaced at a later time. He was very vague about why this issue occurred, and would not give me a straight answer. When I was about to leave, I also found that there was a huge gash in the paint on the rear driver-side door. The owner claimed he knew nothing about it. I had to file a police report and an insurance claim because of this. Just yesterday, I took a look under the car and found out why the ABS sensors were not working. It appears that they broke the sensors off to do the repair, and then superglued them back together! I understand it is an old car, and has quite a bit of rust (and therefore something like this is prone to happen), but their dishonesty is inexcusable. I will go back to my usual repair shop. The dishonesty and white tax on my repair bill will ensure I do not return.
