It wasn’t great. I dropped my car off at noon for an oil change and tire rotation. I never received a call or text saying it was finished. Around 4pm I received a text saying “thank you for choosing McGrath …” as if I had already picked up my car. I had to call and ask if my car was finished. It had been for a while, apparently. I live over 30min away and have a 3 year old to worry about. I then had to rush to pick it up. While waiting to get my vehicle I overheard two other customers asked if they would like their cars run through the wash while it was brought out to them. My car was not brought around to me. I was walked to where it was parked. I wasn’t offered for my car to be washed. It was the first day in a few weeks that was above freezing so it would have been nice. Then while leaving the dealership I noticed my front tires were making a noise. I thought it might be ice stuck in them. It wasn’t. Maybe that’s why they didn’t drive it around to me while picking it up. I had to take my car to a mechanic in town to look at them. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with them contacting me when my car was finished. I have always thought it was better to take my cars to the dealership. It wa instilled in me that they should be trustworthy and things would be done correctly. I did reach out and asked to speak to a manger and set a time to come back regarding my tires. I was never contacted. I won’t be coming back. I hope that things get better for other customers.

Elite Luxury Flooring

The salesman’s are some of the greatest people in this industry.. but you get behind that glass window they sit behind and they are all crooks. I don’t recommend buying a single car from them. They will sell you a car with a bad transmission and when you go to ask for answers you get “my hands are tied as far as that goes” and your sent to the next person supposedly in the chain of command and get “yeah unfortunately I only handle so and so but not that specific request” so you get all these different people to talk to and numbers to call so than you will play phone tag so they can buy another couple days. Every time I walk into their to get it taken care of they say “go ahead and take a seat in the lobby and I’ll bet somebody that can help with that.” And then you sit in that lobby for 20 minutes every single time before you get impatient and leave. So needless to say I bought a $27,000 vehicle that’s a 2016 only 70,000 miles on it and the transmission was junk. And then I get told the transmission is on back order so we all know back order means there is NO LEAD TIME so technically they get to hold my $27,000 car for as long as need be to fix transmission. So I told them I didn’t want to wait that long and I was told that if it takes too long that they would just find a used one to put in. That just blew my mind. Put a used transmission in a car that just went through one. So technically putting me in the same position I was in. I have been told for 3 days that there was a list of 3 guys that were going to reach out to me and never have. I have spent a quarter of a million dollars in this company in the last 8 years and I can guarantee it will be the last cent ever spent there again. We will be in the process of getting an attorney and getting my money back.

I’ve had better service before but they dropped the ball on communication. I called them 5 days ago to have a part installed that was from the factory not after market and they had no clue about it. They said they would get back to me after doing some research and never heard anything so I made an appointment to go in and get it done. They basically told me that they are not sure if this part will work with my truck. So I called the manufacturer they looked up my truck by VIN and had 2 techs say yes it will work so you guys might want to remove the “certified Chevy” from service.

If I could post negative stars I would!! I grew up in Cedar Rapids and have always heard do not go to McGrath, and boy I can not shout it loud enough DO NOT GO!!!! We purchased a used but not cheap vehicle the end of September and finally have possession of it! They sold us a 30k plus vehicle with a very obvious powersteering leak and on 3 occasions told us they fixed it and never touch it. We could never reach anyone, was never called back and even on one occasion was told they had no record of us or our vehicle.
