3rd strike and I'm done, have had repairs they "fixed" go back out or worse. Took my truck in for a driveshaft issue, only to pick it up and find 2 brake lines damaged (never had issues) and my brand new oil filler cap swapped out for a very cheap one. Claimed issues were not them and they were not responsible. Driveshaft still having same issues. The $ saved going through them not worth the headache and future issues.

Took my daughter's van in for a tune up, new coils and wires charged her $300 and she went to work that night and and the check engine light came on and it's miss firing again. She went in today. They gave her a loaner vehicle that was worse than the vehicle she left there it felt like a death trap vehicle. They got the check engine light to go off, said it's carbon build up and the check engine light came on again 3 blocks down the road, when we left. Totally worthless mechanic shop. Don't go there.

Walked in through the front door.. No clerk was inside the office. Mechanics seen me standing there at the glass, and kept ignoring me til I left. I will note I only seen the 2 mechanics in the whole building. One was checking out an old 55 Belair. Not taking anything apart just examining for an estimate. So it wouldn't have been hard or bad service to walk up to the counter to assist me. Only excuses I can think of for that is, maybe on a time crunch or just his love for that model pushed customer service aside. .. would I try one more try to obtain their service, yes.. they just seem under staffed .. 2 guys one garage 20 cars in the parking lot to fix and look at.. great hours of pay I guess .. best of luck in this heat

I had learned that there was a problem in the transmission of my son's car. I spoke with someone in the phone explained that the car was 23 years old so really did not want to drop to much into the car. They located the problem and ordered the part from out East somewhere. Yes it took a bit to get the part being winter and storms the week it was to come in. Also on back order first. Over all though well worth it if you can wait. Car was repaired for total of 360 including tax and labor. They will have my business again if needed.

My son took his car there several months ago and the worked on his transmission for around $2,000. Since then he has had to take it back twice as it wasnt fixed correctly. This last time he took it there 3 weeks ago tomorrow. He made an appt. As of today they have still not worked on it! Keep saying we will get to it. Not the right answer.we have called numerous times and went down there. They know they aren't getting paid to fix what should have been fixed right the first time so he is being jacked around. Would never recommend this place. My son relies on his car for work. He has had to get rides back and forth. He does not have the money to pay someone else to fix it.

Metro's owner Robert is a hard working, honest, and dependable mechanic. This is so far and by far the best mechanic in all of Waterloo and surrounding areas (maybe all of Iowa). Just keep an eye his employees- they're not all as trustworthy as their boss.

Roger Klingfus always has time to listen to me and get my vehicles in for a free estimate. He takes the extra time to explain what is needed and answers all my questions. Roger and his staff are friendly and professional and they are never pushy. They do what needs to be done and they don't try to sell you on something you don't need. I have recommended Metro Transmission to family and friends. They are my "go to fix it" shop on all automotive repairs.

I brought my car in and told them I agreed to pay the $1800 or $1500 for a rebuilt transmission. They told me they would need my car for four days. On the third day, after I rented a car, they still had not even touched my car so I continue to pay for the rental and finally on the fifth day they offered to change my transmission fluid And since I needed my car back and they then informed me they had not received the rebuilt transmission at this point so I had no alternative but to pick my car up and wait for them to call me back when they finally did receive the rebuilt transmission they said they had ordered for my car. I picked my car up and paid $150 to them and in addition I had already paid out several hundred dollars for a rental to use during the time mine was supposed to be fixed. All in all I got my car back and it was doing the same exact thing since the rebuilt transmission was never installed and they informed me they would call once they received it and they still to this day have never called and that has been well over a month ago.These people are not honest I don’t know what their agenda was but it obviously was not to put in a rebuilt transmission into my car even though I had the cash in hand and was willing to pay for it. Somebody on that and is very irresponsible and I wasted about $500 between a rental and a transmission flush and steal my car is doing the same exact thing as it did when I brought it to him the first time. What a waste of time, a waste of money, a waste of phone calls, and again gave my trust somebody in that business that I thought was telling the truth when really it was just a scam.

Made a appointment for1/10/23 he was charging me $900 to take the transmission apart send it to a welder bring it back and install it back into my vehicle at $100 an hour He didn't get vehicle in until1/18/23.. he is now seven days behind .. he then tells me he's got a transmission case forget the welder.. after 4 days finds out it's not the correct transmission case and has to reschedule the welder. The welder takes 9 days that's from leaving Metro and coming back. It then took him 3dys to get it installed his mechanic wired to starter wrong and told me it was the PCM and order me another one after 3 days of waiting I requested the vehicle to be pushed out and called for a wrecker he then charged me $1,100. For a job that was supposed to only take a couple of days I installed the PCM and to know surprised the vehicles did the same thing after a half an hour on YouTube I wired the starter and the vehicle started immediately.. supposedly this butcher shop has been open for 40 years but I am sure it is not survive on satisfied return customers my vehicle is now on the way to another transmission shop because it is slipping people do not fall victim to these automobile poachers

I've brought my car to fix here numerous times . Hand spent 100s of dollars for tows and them to fix it . Not even 2 days ago had my car fixed here AGAIN and not even 24 hrs later it wouldn't start AGAIN. At this point I just want my money back and I will go else where. As a single mom I can't afford to keep asking for rides, paying for tows and paying for a car to get fixed when they are not fixing it right . It's beyond stressful and frustrating

They did my repairs in a very timely manner. Even saved me money by making a repair that didn't take a part I had already bought to replace. A little computer reprogramming and it was fixed as opposed to spending a couple hundred for the part and the labor to put it in. My car has been running perfectly since I been there and I couldn't be happier. Usually women get the short end of the stick when it comes to mechanics. I can honestly say I have been treated nicely and have got everything I needed here for a very fair price. Will be returning if anything else arises.

Metro transmission is the way to go. I took my car in it was fast friendly and didn’t cost a lot. I recommend that this is the place you want to go. If you want to get your transmission checked out, they did good work and Kirby was friendly to I will go back again, if I have any transmission problems, they’re the best

Took my car in for a new clutch over the phone I was quoted a day turn around took a few days communication was not great I had to call for updates when it got closer to closing I had to stop by a few times to check on progress and on Friday I went to check the tech said it should be done by end of day I got all my eggs in row and headed over to the shop watched them pull it out and run through all the gears them pulled it back into the bay with 5mins then they packed up and left although I did end up receiving a call later that evening saying they can see if they can have the tech come in to finish I picked my car up the next day made me late to my out of town plans with multiple issues with my car the exhaust hangers was cracked off the muffler and was making a horrible sound was not there when I dropped it off second shift knob was cranked on and not centered my e brake light was on constantly had to take apart center console and plug it back in and lastly the clutch wasn’t even adjusted right and they skipped the most important part of the job The pilot bearing is making a grinding sound when the clutch is not engaged I’m sorry I feel like this shouldn’t have happened I should have trusted the reviews I read but I had to give them a chance where I got screwed I should not have to pay another shop to fix one’s mistakes all I ask is to replace the bearing tac the exhaust.

I took my vehicle into the shop at the beginning of December and then after 2 weeks I still hadn't gotten a call. I called the next next day and the man that answered the phone said "Oh, we didn't call you?". I then said "No, you didn't.". He then responded and said my vehicle was ready to be picked up. I went and picked up my vehicle and then it worked for only 10 days. After which, I took my vehicle back into the shop and explained I wasn't going to pay for a service I did not receive. I then took my vehicle back to the shop and once again, they did not call me. Once I did, they came and said the vehicle needed something new and they had previously gone behind my back and tried to take a shortcut. They made a weld that broke, which is the reason I had to bring my vehicle back. They never called and asked what I wanted to do, which is exactly what I told them to do. It has ended up in me not having a vehicle for 9 weeks. Still, the vehicle is not working correctly so I'm stuck finding a mechanic. Please, whatever you do, do not take your vehicle to this shop. If I could leave a 0/5, I would. On God. It is unbelievable that I would trust a shop to be honest when I know they have lied about what they've done and come up with reasons to charge you more money. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. TAKE IT SOMEWHERE WITH REVIEWS THAT SUGGEST YOUR VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. IF I PICK UP MY VEHICLE. I EXPECT EVERYTHIUNG TO BE STILL IN THE VEHICLE.

I'm reading a lot of bad reviews here and I guess I'm going to add one. I know Roger and I know that this time he is wrong. I called him and described my situation to him, he had a clear picture of what was needed etc. he's been doing this for 40+ years ... He knew. It was a Thursday he told me he would get to it the Next week. I tow it over there and the next week went by and he tells me that the guy who does that kind of work retired and he just comes in once a week but he's sick. Two weeks later he tells me that his guy looked at it and it's not something they want to mess with. No problem 80.00 tow there, 80.00 tow back. Two + weeks without my car with which I make a living. I take my 96 mustang gt there. They put valve cover gaskets on it, a radiator, pinion seal. Everything seems good. Affordable prices. They get it done pretty fast.
