I took my car here a few months back told them I thought my alternator was going out. They claimed it was my pulleys. They replaces my pulleys and I still kept on having problems. They ignored what I had to say. About a week later or so I took my car to firestone because it died on me while I was driving home luckily I got it started. They confirmed I was right that it was my alternator and they replaced it. I called back up to Midas they claimed they tested my alternator which was a lie seeing how I had to have it replaced. They refused to make it right. And now I am stuck paying a loan for work they did on the pulleys when the pulleys where not the probably with my car on top of that I had to pay a little over 500 to get my alternator replaced. The Midas in San Angelo has staff that do not know what they are doing also that are dishonest when it comes to working on cars. I expect this to be made right. I advice no one take your vehicles here. Instead of making things right they just deny and lie most of the times they were working on my car they were just standing around talking to each other also.

I can't tell you how grateful I am for Brad and the assistant manager(didn't catch his name) that saved the day when I came in close to closing time. I was on a 5 hour drive to go fishing and only had 2 lug nuts left on my truck when I rolled in. They rushed to get the parts to replace and personally helped me install these and get me rolling because the other techs were fully booked up. These guys will do anything it takes to get the job done!

I’ve been completely taken advantage of by Midas. I brought my car in because it wouldn’t drive right away when I started it. If I let it run for about 30–40 minutes, then it would drive just fine. A different mechanic had looked at it previously and suspected the issue was with the transmission, but he didn’t have the tools to handle it and recommended I take it to a dealership. When I called the dealership, the next available appointment was too far out. Since I had a great experience with a Midas in Michigan before, I decided to try the Midas in my area. I spoke with a polite young man and explained the issue in detail: the car starts, but won’t move until it runs for 30–40 minutes. I also told him what the previous mechanic had said about the transmission. He assured me that Midas could access and work on the transmission, so I brought the car in the next morning. After running a diagnostic test, they came back with a few error codes pointing to the spark plugs—which I had already replaced in December 2023. Later, the manager told me that the part connecting the spark plugs to the engine was broken and needed replacing at $30 each. I agreed. But after paying $1,500, my car is in worse condition than when I brought it in. The following day, when I started the car, the check engine light came on and the car would not move back nor forward. I let it run until it warmed up and drove it back to Midas. This time, they asked me to leave the car so they could keep it overnight and look it over more thoroughly. Three days passed without any updates. I finally called them myself, only to be told by the manager that he now believes it’s a transmission issue—exactly what I originally said—and that it would cost another $600 to fix. The car got worse than before and I am left the bill. I waited to write this review hoping in warmer weather the car would be better and nothing has changed.

Worst shop in town, waited 3.5 hours for oil change, did work I specifically told them not to do. Started oil change without having the oil filter. Messed up oil housing filter and is refusing to fix. If you want to mess up your car and cause thousands in damage, I would recommend this location for only that purpose. Real masters of their craft. Would recommend trying to fix your car with sticks and rocks before bringing it to this location. Manager Brad will gladly mess it up. Would leave 0 stars if possible

They knew everyone's name and made this single mom feel like she was part of a community. And the most important, fixed my vehicle. They have definitely made a returning customer.

I called Midas and spoke with Jacob to ask for something well outside the scope of his job. One of our traveling physicians had a flat tire and couldn’t make it to Midas before they closed due to his hospital schedule. I asked Jacob if he’d be willing to walk down the street from the shop and at least take a look at the tire to see if it could be repaired. Without a moment’s hesitation, Jacob said, “Yes sir, I can go take a look and let you know what we need to get it fixed.” Fifteen minutes later, Jacob called me back. He had found the flat tire but wasn’t able to remove it because another car was parked too close. Instead of giving up, we talked through a few options. Jacob ended up going back to the car, grabbing the spare keys we didn’t know were there the first time, and taking the vehicle back to his shop to get the tire repaired. I’m sure this wasn’t something he was technically supposed to do — but he saw a problem and found a solution. Without his help, this physician would’ve missed a large part of his shift — and patients depending on him wouldn’t have received the care they needed. Jacob didn’t say, “We don’t do that,” or “Sorry, we can’t.” He simply said, “Yes sir, I can help you.” He may not realize the impact of what he did — but I do. That small act of kindness helped keep patients cared for and a physician on duty. Jacob — God bless you, and THANK YOU, buddy.

Midas 🚙 is a great place to go. One of the coworkers named Brad was a very special help to me and the person in the front counter. I can’t remember his name right now, but very, very helpful. I just wanted to say that I moved to San Angelo for school and have a very limited knowledge of cars. I came to Midas initially for the oil change deal and Brad was an excellent help to me. He explained all the oil change information perfectly for me and helped me pick the best option. As I previously stated, I don’t know much about cars, so I can tend to go longer than recommended getting work done again. Brad even helped out with that by reaching out with updates on my vehicle's health and giving recommendations to help. Overall, Brad is incredibly knowledgeable in his craft, an amazing help to me and I highly recommend him to anybody who has a vehicle with maintenance.
