I called Mike on a Sunday... With a unique and individual problem which is really not his area of expertise. His well beyond that but he decided to step out of his comfort zone and help me out... Went out of his way to fix my electric mountain bike because the bike shop did not know how to fix it... This guy is the best...a master craftsman with metal. I recommend Mike's metal works to anybody who has any type of metal fabrication issues.Problems or modifications to deal with this guy is a genius... His work speaks for itself!!!..... My ford ranger needed a hitch badly. Uhaul wouldn’t touch it because i have so much rust underneath. Took it to a welder and ended up spending $500. Still wasn’t sturdy enough. Quality welds done on my motorcycle frame and my wheels for my truck that cracked from these potholes out here. This place is a great shop to have work done at. I asked Mike if he did roll cage chops for side by sides and he said yes just bring it by. Dropped the machine off on Saturday and by Monday it was ready to be picked up. I called around to other shops but nobody wanted to touch it except this guy. Not only did he do the work but he executed it flawlessly and the way I explained it to him as well. My sxs looks like it came from the factory with the work he did to it. Not sure if the other shops would’ve did as amazing of a job as Mike did. I defiantly recommend this shop. Before and after pictures attached.

Mike Halstead (owner of Mike's Metal Worx) fabricated and installed a set of stainless steel headers for the SB2.2 engine in my 1982 Camaro and I could not be happier with the work that was done. I opted to have the headers exit out the fenders in order to make the car easier to work on. Additional benefits are better ground clearance and it may be cooler inside the car on race day (since the hot exhaust isn't going beneath the car). Having the exhaust exit the sides of the car required a significant amount of sheet metal around the fenders as well as the fire wall to be cut out and then replaced with hand made sheet metal, which then had to be welded back in and painted. Regarding the headers themselves, Mike has a multi-step process that includes placing a spark plug socket on each plug while tack welding each header tube to ensure proper fit and clearance. The headers go on and off the car multiple times in order to make sure the final product fits perfectly. Before final welding of each primary tube to the header flange, Mike firmly bolts the header flange to a thick metal table (to resemble a head) to allow the finished welds to cool while assembled. This ensures a flat header flange that will bolt to the head without leaks. As a repeat customer, the new headers are the most recent thing that Mike has done to my car. Whenever I go there, Mike treats my car like it's his own and I appreciate that. Moreover, his experience and quality are top notch! I need to give a shout out to his son Michael and his helper John, who were both instrumental in completing the headers. I highly recommend Mike's Metal Worx for all your chassis and fabrication needs.

Mike is a great guy and great at what he does. he always goes out of his way to help me when needed. especially today when i needed a winch mounted ASAP he dropped what he had to do and welded the mount on and i was back on the road in 20 minutes. very talented at what he does and he is highly recommended for anything fabrication related.
