Lu 老师 is awesome! Its been a great time learning with her and lots of progress has been made. From day one a lot was accomplished and each class was a step forward. She has provided me a deep understanding of the foundations of the language while keeping it very fun and engaging. Shan Lu is an amazing mandarin teacher! In addition to explaining the Chinese word and symbol, she also provides a lot of history and cultural facts. After working on my own for a long time I found that my skills had stalled and that I was not able to progress from an Elementary to Intermediate level. For me a few consistent problems with tones and some pronunciation was holding me back. In my opinion, these problems can only be overcome through working one-on-one with a good teacher like Shan. Over the past few months the level of my Chinese has improved greatly and I am no longer stuck. She is always prepared and was willing to work with the material that I bring rather than rigidly sticking to a standard textbook. Shan Lu, the Chinese Mandarin teacher is truly a remarkable asset to our childrens lives. She is VERY experienced, has great ways of teaching while keeping the children entertained and focused but above all-the kids want to see her more and more because of the way she interacts with them. She is SO caring and always goes above and beyond bringing new ideas every week we see her for our children to learn. They are learning the language so quickly-all because of Ms. Shan Lu. The children also enjoy doing a new craft project after every lesson they have every week. Not only are they learning a new language, but also new skills.
