After two visits to this place I no longer trust them. They are the classic place you hear about that tries to sell you repairs your car doesn't need. Here are my experiences: In my first experience about a year ago I went in to get my back break pads replaced. I get a call from the main man and he tells me with such confidence, "Sir you need new front break pads also, and you need to replace all of your rotors!" He tells me it's a desperate situation. I ask how much and he tells me the cost will be an addition $1000 to what I was initially planning to pay. Nice try. Over a year later my front brake pads are still running perfectly fine. I've taken my car to other mechanics since then and non of them have mentioned my front break pads or rotors. For my second experience I had them replace two of my tires. They were brand new and expensive tires yet one of them became defective after a couple months. However, during this experience they were actually honest in telling me what parts my car needed for a separate repair, so I'll give them that. If you take your car here be very cautious of them trying to sell you repairs you don't need! Also, over time in this city I've learned that other places in Baltimore offer the same services for cheeper.

I have been going to Monro since 2017, but I guess they no longer call to let you know your service is done? The last 3 times we’ve used Monro, we haven’t received a call, have left our car overnight, and have had to actively call them midday the next day just to learn it’s already finished. When I picked up my car this time, there were no other cars in the lot besides an employee’s car - seems unusual that they wouldn’t call to let me know it had been complete for some time, apparently. I also didn’t receive the multi-point vehicle inspection checklist they always used to include with the service/payment paperwork, so unsure whether that inspection was done or not and what the results of that inspection might have been. Unfortunately after being customers there for so many years, we’ll be looking elsewhere the next time we need service.

The previous team is gone!! I was a previous loyal customer of Rick's. I took my car to Rick every time I had issues - whether it is tire patch (always free!) or oil change (20-30 dollars). I took my car there yesterday for a tire replacement. The customer service was minimal and below satisfactory - I barely got any information from the mechanic about the service he will be performing, let alone a choice on tires. I am comparing this experience with a recent tire replacement experience at another auto service chain for my other car, where I was given a variety of choices of tires with a good price range. I was quoted 145 for a single tire replacement, which is a lot higher compared to the 250 I paid for a two-tire replacement at this other auto service. What is worse is that when my boyfriend went to pick up the car today, he was up-charged to 160 for no apparent reason. i feel very much ripped off for the service I received and I will never return to Monro again. Based on some other yelp reviews, this rather shady practice seems to be the way that the current team does business. I would recommend that people, especially the previous customers of Rick's, go elsewhere if you don't want a massive disappointment.

The staff was courteous and professional. The service was rendered in a timely manner, considering that I was a walk-in. The cost was also less than I expected. I would recommend this business.

I would give zero stars if that was an option.... First they decieve you on the groupon, I paid 70.00 just to get there and they say its an additional 40.00 so whats the point of getting a groupon if I'm still paying more than 100.00 for an oil change?? The Manager Tavon on Howard street needs to be fired he's rude and arrogant Monroe Tire should be ashamed of themselves (oh they said 40.00 is the shop fee) I'm like what does that mean? They said for using their shop, you the consumer has to pay them extra I WILL NEVER EVER COME HERE AGAIN and I'm telling everybody who will listen not to patronize them unless you like getting Ripped off they are scam artists

I feel scammed. I have never spent this much money on an oil change. I was charged basically 2x for services. I brought a Groupon for my oil change that was for the high mileage for $59.99 and still managed to have gotten charged an additional $62 for them to do nothing. They didn’t do any diagnostics on my car , they didn’t even atleast check my tire pressure. Will not be going back!!!!

Got a flat while visiting Baltimore. Called them up, they had a tire for means could put it on. Got there and Jerome took great care of me- and my Subaru- got the tire I wanted from a sister store and put it on in under an hour. Super friendly and honest- I would definitely recommend them if you need a tire in Baltimore. If I lived there I would absolutely trust them with other services too. Thanks again!

I recently visited Monro Auto Service and Tire Centers for an oil change, and I can't say enough about the exceptional service I received from Tayvon and his team of mechanic technicians. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with professionalism and genuine care. Tayvon went above and beyond to ensure that my vehicle was not only serviced promptly but also that I understood the process and any additional recommendations. His attention to detail and commitment to quality are truly impressive. The entire team is made up of amazing professionals who clearly take pride in their work. I left feeling confident in my vehicle's performance and grateful for such a positive experience. Thank you so much, Taypon and team! I highly recommend Monro Auto Service and Tire Centers for anyone looking for reliable and top-notch automotive care.

This will be my go to place for car repairs. I’ve worked in retail, I know solid customer service. These people actually WANT you to be able to drive your car. The employees there are solid, esp store manager Jerome. He’s earnest and treats you with respect, as a customer and as a human being. Long as you’re patient and communicative, I can’t see why you’d get anything less than good quotes and good service. I personally have been here twice, and I will be back for a third.

If I could give zero stars I would the customer service that was given was horrible my dad went 4 different times trying to get an oil change being turned away stating he had to wait for the manager. The manager who would not give me his name was finally there the fourth time and now they can not honor the Groupon that was purchased stating we have to pay more money which is crazy why do Groupon if y’all have all these hidden fees. Then refused service because I said I would do a review. I definitely was going to do one because to refuse a service as if you’re an owner of the company is insane. He was very rude and nasty!!! But no worries I’m reporting it to the better business bureau. Do Not Visit Monro Muffler on N Howard St!!!!!!

I came for a simple oil change and experienced more. They took my car and treated it with the care it needed and processed my ride with the quickness. Trayvon Patterson gave me suggestions for future repairs and maintenance and I will most definitely be back to get them done. Thank you Monroe service.

They happened to be the only tire repair store to have my Tesla Model X tires in stock and the staff were awesome and great. Had me in and out in no time. Strongly recommend.

The first thing that always wins me over is the fact they actually answered the phone with courtesy and I didn't have to deal with an IVR robot. Visited the shop on 11-17-77 for a flat tire and the gentleman at the counter was friendly, also ended up joking with the mechanic "Dro" who was very knowledgeable and had me in and out in a timely manner. I highly recommend this shop for service.

Last Friday, I brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic due to the check engine light warning. I was informed that the diagnostic would cost $110. The results showed an issue with the catalytic converter. I requested a quote for both the catalytic converter repair and the labor costs. I waited for over an hour with no updates, which was frustrating. They told me that the parts company had closed. The front desk mechanic told me they would call the next day with the information, but I have yet to receive that call. Paying for these services should not result in a lack of essential information that would help me decide on the next steps for my car.

After stopping at 3 other auto shops, that all told me to wait for hours for an oil change, I was able to walk right in and get served immediately. I was on my way out of town and needed to freshen the oil in my car for a long trip. Thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff that made sure my car was safe and road ready.

I had a check engine light on my Honda CRV while driving my daughter to Baltimore from PA. I stopped on a Sunday afternoon without an appointment. Jimmy said he would help me, assessed my vehicle showed me the results and had me on the road in less than an hour. I appreciate the friendly service at a very reasonable price. Take care sir. Pete

First time here the service was quick and everything was done very well. Tayvon is really nice and he actually helped me figure out the cost of the work that needed to be done on my car. Also Jimmy is an outright honest mechanic. He had shown me some things about my vehicle to get a better understanding of what I needed done in the future for my car. Overall a great team in general I liked the service there. Would definitely recommend! Update: It's been a month later my transmission is bad. I looked under the hood and checked the stick. It's not transmission fluid I don't know what they put in there but now my car is not drivable.

We loved this place for years, it was the only car repair place where we felt we weren't actively being screwed over. So when they charged us almost $500 to replace the battery, I had to check the receipt. Why would we be charged $79 labor for a "free battery install" on top of the $79 labor to install the battery? $158 to install a battery?? We went back to Monro and asked about this but were told that "FREEBATTERYINSTALL" was actually a discount diagnostic price, and the battery install wasn't free at all. I mentioned that the sign on their window says most battery installs are free, and the guy didn't seem to know what (GIANT) sign I was referring to. Anyways, they didn't budge on the $158 labor. And we're in the market for a new service place.
