It’s worth the money to switch to select in my opinion. I’m also happy that patient advocacy & hospital leadership is listening to my concerns. ER wait times and miscarriages within the military are an absolutely priority as it is a gap in care for service members and their families. Only adding my review to notate that this facility is under DHA and they are not performing crisis intervention for patients who come into the ER with mental health concerns or safety planning with patients who experience loss of pregnancy. Please provide resources and treat individuals with empathy. Utilize your ER social worker.

-10000 stars, waited hours and had people come and go before us, never got called back, showed absolutely no urgency, everyone who was in the waiting room got there AFTER us and been called back BEFORE us, our baby was in pain and uncomfortable and they showed no care, we kept being told “you’re next” and then 5 people were called back that had got there after us. If you need medical care DO NOT GO HERE, I’d get more help at a veterinary clinic than here, worst place ever I genuinely don’t even know how they have 2.4 stars that’s too high

Absolutely terrible. If I could give -500 stars, I would. Such a disservice to our active military members and their family. Fundamentally flawed.

Be prepared to wait 2 hours in line for medication. Be prepared for medical personnel to have no reprimand or punishment for failing to do their job.

We just had emergency c-section for twins at 32 weeks. Staff and care could not have been better during surgery and our 3 week stay in the NICU.

I had to have emergency surgery and it was the best place I could have went to. They were friendly and had great communication. Especially the two lady's and man when I was waking up from my surgery. They helped me know everything was okay and made me feel comfortable.

As a 100% disabled veteran, and military dependent with documented disabilities including PTSD, a traumatic brain injury, and a frontal lobe lobectomy, I’ve encountered significant difficulty accessing necessary in-facility care at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune. Per the VA, I’m considered to be confined to my home due to my service connected disabilities. Despite being an established patient, my requests for reasonable accommodations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act have been repeatedly denied or ignored, both by patient advocacy, the Beneficiary Counseling Assistance Coordinator (BCAC), and additionally, leadership at this command.
I’ve experienced serious distress and delays in care after being referred to unfamiliar civilian providers, despite my medical history indicating that such environments pose risks to my health and safety. Patient advocacy and administrative staff have been dismissive of my accommodation requests, often citing vague justifications such as “capacity issues” or “services being unavailable,” while those same services continue to be advertised publicly by the facility.
I’ve had no choice but to escalate my concerns through formal channels, including a Congressional inquiry, and may pursue civil rights complaints if necessary. I hope this review helps others understand that, while some care providers at NMCCL are dedicated and professional, systemic barriers and a lack of legal accountability continue to impact veterans and dependents with serious disabilities.
Patients with cognitive, neurological, or psychological disabilities deserve care that is accessible, legally compliant, and compassionate. I am sharing this review in hopes that leadership will address these concerns and make the changes necessary to ensure equal access for all

My husband was taken by EMS to this hospital from a bad car accident in Jacksonville. He was a civilian taken to an own base, Naval Hospital, and of course, tried to tell me at the gate they couldn’t not let me on base! They why take a civilian to a military base??? So of course this Wifey started freaking out because last time I talked to my husband he was being transported by ambulance without knowing the extent of his injuries!! Long story they did finally let me on base to see him after an act of congress! He did have 1 good nurse named Elizabeth who was busting her ass in that ER! But all the other male marine nurses just sitting around chit chatting not doing a damn thing but running there mouth!! So many hippa violations talking about patients care at nurse desk for everyone to hear and leaving open computers with patients information for the world to see!!! Then house keeping staff just barging in rooms at the end of there shift not knocking to enter room or anything!! Just walk in no can I stock linen or nothing!!! For this hospital to be rang my our military is just plan disgraceful!

The pharmacy is contracted out to a third party. They staff with the minimum person's so most of the money goes to management who isn't even on site. I believe the military could run it more efficiently.
Stop outsourcing our jobs.

Currently sitting in the waiting room and honestly would be willing to switch places with a soldier during D-day bc at least after getting shot within 5 seconds of leaving the boat ramp I would receive medical care that’s better than this place. Absolute crazy to me how DHA has now made military medicine a joke.

Why while my daughter is having a miscarriage at the moment are her and her husband having to go off base to try and get medical care that is a joke. Just because North Carolina has ignorant policies that align with right wing ideas do military members and thier spouses have to look elsewhere for help. You can set up a mash unit in a jungle but not in your backyard?
God help us!

Every time we call to the hospital there is a confusion about smth! Moreover, doctor who prescribed me a medication for menopause when I’m 25 years old and asking for contraceptives is crazy❗️I have no words and no more trust, I hope only that I will be in time now to take the right medication cause wait time for the next call is in 10 days (is the fastest cause in person I would have waited a month!) and I’m sure waiting time in the queue at pharmacy will be other couple days -_-

If it were possible to give minus stars I would. This place wants to be a Trauma Center for the Area? How about focusing on your primary mission and taking care of the men and women in uniform your required to care for and they were promised!
Why should our children, our families, and us spend over 8 or 9 hours in the emergency room waiting to be treated. Camp Pendleton isn’t operated this way. Getting a prescription is another major hurdle. It’s a leadership issue, this isn’t a personal issue!

What does it take for people to receive good Healthcare. My mother sat in this hospital for 7 hours before she checked her own self out. What a load of crap. Should be ashamed of yourself and who ever work this shift tonight. 7 HOURS!!!!!!

go ANYWHERE else. 1st time i went for severe bleeding, potential miscarriage and was told it was a “bad period”. 2nd time came in as a trauma patient from a car accident and was told that since my ears weren’t bleeding and i don’t remember if i hit my head ill “probably be fine”; over a year later i have extreme back pain and debilitating migraines. 3rd time went in for one of the migraines because nothing was working and they told me to hold up my arms, had me walk in a straight line, then gave me ibuprofen and told me to drink more water. i JUST called to see if they could give me IV fluids and do a migraine cocktail since my rescue meds aren’t working on top of everything else i’ve tried and she was extremely rude “it’s up to your provider” “so what’s your question”. you’d have better luck getting help from a local trap house then you would this hospital.

I'm finally taking the time to leave a review after a year, for the incredible care I received from Dr. Adams and her team during my C-section. OMG, they were AMAZING! From the anesthesiologist to the nurses and entire theater team, everyone was top-notch. I felt completely assured and safe in their hands. I wish I could personally thank each team member with a bouquet of flowers! Sorry it's taken me so long to express my gratitude, but please know that Dr. Adams and her team truly went above and beyond. Thank you all for taking such wonderful care of me!

Recently took my mother to the clinic as she was in heart failure. The staff was amazing and the doctors did everything possible to make sure she was comfortable and well taken care of. She was ultimately flown to a nearby hospital and is home recovering now. I can’t thank the amazing personnel at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune enough.
